Chapter 2 (Grammer Edit)
"I-IT HURTS!" Izuku cried out as the black strings crawled from the stitch in his arm
"C-calm down, sweetie, I-I'm sure we can fix this!" Inko said as one of the black strings slowly crawled toward her, "uh-oh,"
"GAH!" Izuku screamed louder as even more strings shot from his arm and dug into the walls. The string was still moving toward his mother grabbed her by the ankle as she gasped and fell to the floor "I-Izuku! Help me!" Inko screamed as it slowly went up her leg
"MOM!" Izuku shouted as the string split in two, tying her up even more. Izuku could only watch in pain as the strings slowly enveloped his mother... until *POOF*, his mother was replaced with a rock and it was split open by the strings. Looking over at the door, Kakuzu stood there with a glare in his eyes. Inko was behind him safe and sound as he approached Izuku "Don't get in my way," Kakuzu said, causing Inko to nod
"Y-yes, s-sir," Inko said. Kakuzu then vanished and appeared next to Izuku as he chopped the green-haired boy in the neck. Izuku went unconscious as his body became limp. Kakuzu stood there as the strings retracted back into Izuku's body, watching as they retreated back into the stitching "This hasn't happened before," Kakuzu said, "it didn't happen with Hidan... but why this kid?" he whispered as he looked around. The room was a mess, the wall nearest to the bed looked like it was about to collapse and the floor was torn up. He then looked down at Izuku and mumbled to himself, "Be lucky that I felt something off tonight, or else you would be dead," Kakuzu said as he picked the boy up while turning to Inko
"W-what?" Inko asked
"You heard me, your heart removed and your life with it," Kakuzu replied as he began to walk away
"W-wait! W-where are you taking him?!"
"Somewhere from here, he's gonna have to learn to control Earth Grudge Fear if he's gonna live a normal life," Kakuzu stated
"I have no idea w-what you're talking about? W-what did you do to him? What did you do to my Izuku?" Inko shouted. But Kakuzu glared at her, "Shut up before I kill you," Kakuzu growled, causing her to shiver in fear, "now I'm leaving with the brat a little earlier than I wanted to,"
"W-will I see him again?" Inko asked
"... Maybe," Kakuzu replied as he vanished. Inko could only stare at the spot Kakuzu was before she fainted, falling to the ground in a crying heap.
The Next Day:
Izuku woke up to the familiar sight of a concrete ceiling "You up, brat?" Kakuzu asked as Izuku looked over at him with surprise
"AH! How did I get here?!" Izuku asked, making Kakuzu groan
"All you ask are questions and it's starting to annoy me," Kakuzu said, making Izuku flinch
"I-I'm sorry, b-but I want t-to know why I-I'm back here,"
"Because... I feel... responsible,"
"Eh?"
"Those threads, it's called Earth Grudge Fear," Kakuzu explained, "you got them from me after I reattached your arm,"
"S-so I got your... quirk?" Izuku asked. Kakuzu looked at him as he rubbed the bridge of his nose "Yeah, sure, you have my quirk, whatever. Now get up, we've got things to do," Kakuzu stated as he tossed Izuku some clothes, "put these on and meet me in the living room, you know where that is, right?"
"Y-yes, sir," Izuku replied
"Good," Kakuzu said as he walked out of the room. Izuku looked at the clothes with a sigh as he went to put them on, but he felt something constricting his movement. Looking at his right arm, he found that it was covered in leather straps with writing in black ink all over it "What is this?" Izuku whispered as he inspected it. A few minutes pass by when Kakuzu bangs on the door "It doesn't take 5 minutes for someone to put on a pair of pants, now hurry up brat!" Kakuzu shouted as Izuku was brought out of his thoughts
"S-Sorry!" Izuku quickly responded as he got out of bed and put on the clothes. When he stepped out, Izuku was wearing black sweatpants and a dark-green t-shirt. Kakuzu looked him over as he nodded, "Good, it fits. Now come on, we're going to the beach," Kakuzu said, making Izuku's eyes widen
"T-the beach? Shouldn't I b-be wearing swim-trunks, then?" Izuku asked
"No, I said we're going to the beach, not swimming at the beach," Kakuzu stated, sorta disappointing Izuku in the process.
Later:
Izuku stood dumbfounded at all the trash on the beach. Kakuzu was carrying a bag in his hand as he set it down on the sand and started going through it, "Chakra paper, weights, protein bars, emergency money, lunch money, ropes... everything's here," Kakuzu said, taking out a small piece of paper and arm and leg weights, "brat, get over here,"
"W-what are we doing here?" Izuku asked
"We start your training here,"
"T-Training? For what?"
"How to use my quirk," Kakuzu answered
"Use your quirk?" Izuku asked as Kakuzu sighed and extended his arm. Black threads shot out of Kakuzu's arm and grabbed a nearby fridge. Kakuzu then lifted up his arm and tossed the fridge across the beach. Izuku stared in shock as the threads retreated back into his arm as Kakuzu tossed him the weights, "Put those on, it'll help, but not much," Kakuzu said
"Y-yes, sir!" Izuku quickly replied as he put on the weights. Each one felt heavy in Izuku's hand as he attached them to his legs and wrists. His arms felt like giving out on him almost instantly and his legs felt like blocks of concrete. Izuku struggled to move as Kakuzu sighed, "This is going to get annoying real quick... get over here," Kakuzu said as Izuku moved as fast as he could. Stopping just a few feet from the man, Kakuzu sat down and told Izuku to do the same, "Alright, we'll start with something simple... sensing your own chakra," Kakuzu said
"E-excuse me?" Izuku asked
"Oh, that's right, chakra isn't a thing here... *sigh* I really hate this... Chakra is a form of energy in all living things, from people to animals. Surprisingly, this world has some amount of chakra, but it's lower than that of a civilians from where I came from," Kakuzu stated, "when I attached your arm using my threads, I somehow awakened your chakra and accidentally gave you Earth Grudge Fear... if under different circumstances, I would've killed you on the spot the moment I found out,"
"W-What?! Why would you do that?! You'd go to jail! Prison! Doesn't that mean anything to you?" Izuku asked
"Kid, I've seen a lot in my life, prison to me is nothing more than a free hotel room at this point, especially here. A room, three meals a day, no bills, hell, sounds like heaven to me and I don't have to pay for it," Kakuzu stated as a-matter-of-factly, making Izuku sweat-drop
'This guy's crazy!' Izuku thought
"But that's beside the point," Kakuzu replied. The older man brought his hands together as he closed his eyes, "Follow what I'm doing brat," Kakuzu ordered. Izuku nodded quickly in fear as he crossed his legs and brought his hands together. Closing his eyes, Izuku could hear the roaring of the ocean as Kakuzu started to speak, "Okay, listen closely... do you feel something?" Kakuzu asked
"Yes?"
"I'm taking that as a no... *sigh* I'm not getting paid enough for this, oh wait, I'm not getting paid, damn-it... alright, focus on the center of your body. Calm yourself and feel something tug at your very spirit," Kakuzu instructed. Izuku did as he was told, calming himself, slowing his breathing... and actually felt something tug at him. He actually smirked as Kakuzu asked: "You feel anything yet?"
"Yes,"
"Okay, what does it feel like?"
"It's... warm, calm,"
"Do you feel or see a color?" Kakuzu asked. Izuku took another breath as his pitch-black vision saw a light-blue tint. Izuku smiled as he replied: "The color blue,"
"Okay, we've unlocked your chakra," Kakuzu said, "open your eyes and grab this,". Izuku opened his eyes to see Kakuzu with two pieces of paper. Izuku grabbed one as Kakuzu kept the other, "Okay, now we'll learn how to channel chakra into another object," Kakuzu said
"Alright, what do I do?"
"Same as last time, but instead of just 'seeing' is, you'll be pushing it. Like this," Kakuzu said as the paper in his hand split in half. It started to wrinkle up and catch on fire. And after that, it started to turn into dirt before it fell onto the sand as mud. Izuku looked in amazement as he closed his eyes and repeated the process. Pushing the sensation he felt earlier, Izuku opened his eyes to see that his paper turned to dirt and crumbled away. Izuku frowned slightly as he said: "It didn't do what yours did,"
"Mine did that because I'm different, you've got an affinity for Earth... luckily, I also started with an affinity for Earth,"
"Wait, I'll get more?"
"No, you only have the one, the reason I said 'I started' is that... we'll save that story for another day," Kakuzu replied as he stood up, "now get up, we're getting paid to clean this place and I want it to be done in... 8 months,"
"8-8 MONTHS?!" Izuku asked
"Yes, 8 months. This will be both your training and your job,"
"B-but I can barely move with these things on!" Izuku shouted
"Listen to me kid and listen closely, I could honestly care less whether your at the top of your athletics class or in a damn wheelchair. As I said before, I would've killed you under different circumstances and let you kill your mother last night... but if you continue to act like a snot-nosed brat, crying and whining all the god-damned time, I have no problem sewing up your mouth so I don't have to hear you complain," Kakuzu commanded as a deathly aura surrounded him. Izuku shook in fear as Kakuzu's eyes seemed to gain a red glow, making Izuku gulp, "Now come over here," Kakuzu said, pointing to the spot in front of him. Izuku moved to the spot as Kakuzu looked around. Kakuzu then bent over and picked up a flat stone, placing it on Izuku's forehead, "Focus that chakra on your forehead and hold up this pebble," Kakuzu ordered. Izuku closed his eyes as Kakuzu continued, "Using a pulling motion instead, you'll hold this on your forehead for the next half-hour as I throw other stones at you,"
"Y-you'll what?!" Izuku said as the stone fell from his forehead. He was then struck in the head with a hard chop from Kakuzu as Izuku held his head, "OW! OW OW! W-what was that for?!" Izuku asked
"Every time you drop the pebble, I'll strike you," Kakuzu answered, "now pick it up and start again,"
"B-but aren't we supposed to be cleaning the beach?" Izuku asked
"Yes, you are cleaning, I'm supervising," Kakuzu said as he handed the young-man a black bag, white bag, and a green bag, "black is for trash, white is for the things we can take to get recycled for money, and green is for anything of value, like copper or even gold wires. Now get to work,"
"O-okay," Izuku said as Kakuzu flung a small pebble at Izuku's feet. Izuku jumped, making the pebble on his head fall to the ground and Kakuzu appeared and chopped his head, "Fail! Try again!"
"THIS HURTS!"
"Don't talk back!"
