*third person POV*

*May 19 2013*

It was Sunday, finally Extreme Rules day and Max just arrived in St Louis, Missouri. the town where the event was taking place he was excited he would appear in front of a live audience again after 3 weeks out but most importantly he was going to see Cody and the rest of the locker room again. Max already checked in at the hotel he would stay for that night and now was driving to the arena ready to see everyone and go over his appearance in tomorrow's show

as he parked and got out of the car he looked around the place and made his way towards the locker room, there he was greeted by the shield, Joe, Jon and Colby, Stephen Aka Sheamus and Randy

Randy: well, well look who came back from his little headache

Max: piss off Randy, it's good to see you, you absolute psycho

Randy laughed and hugged Max who didn't waste a second to return the hug and patted the viper on the back, he greeted and hugged the rest of the guys there and started to catch up with them

Colby: it's good to see you're okay man, we thought it was gonna take you more time to recover

Joe: yeah that was a nasty bump uce, it was a miracle you remembered how to even finish the match

they were right, the bump was nasty as hell and It was all Max's fault really, Dolph went for his iconic jumping DDT and he jumped a little too high in an attempt to sell it like a million dollar move for, how people like to say, the love of the game

Max: it was but I am back and ready to beat each single one of you and show you who's boss

Stephen: sure fella but now you need to have a chat with your tag partner, he has been going nuts over your injury

Jon: speaking of the devil, look is coming right through door number one

Everybody looked towards the Locker room door as Cody was entering right through it giving his back to everybody as he was struggling with his suitcase

Cody: Max! I missed you brother

Max: Cody my man how are you doi- AAAGHH!!

Max backed away with a face that made it look like he just saw a ghost but that wasn't it, what he saw was worst in his opinion right now

Max: what the actual FUCK is that in your face!?!

Cody: wha-? Oh you mean my mustache, it looks good right? Started to grow it after you got injured

Stephen: (whispering) Told you he was going nuts

The whole locker room was trying to hold their laughs at the situation as Max just covered his mouth in an attempt to do that too and also in a sign of utter disbelief that cody actually liked that damn thing on his face

Cody: So, you like it or not?

His tag partner just stood there rubbing his scratching his cheek trying to find a way to tell him that he absolutely hated this fur ball that he calls mustache, when he apparently came to a conclusion he stepped forward and grabbed both of Cody's shoulders

Max: you know I said I would always be completely honest with you right?

Cody nodded at his friend's words smiling nervously because he was not someone to usually bring that promise up at all

Max: you look like if a kid took a permanent marker and painted an attempt of a mustache on his own face while blindfolded

Now the whole locker room exploded in laughter as Cody looked dumbfounded at Max who just stood there with his left hand on Cody's right shoulder staring at that "moustache"

Cody: come on it isn't that bad, right Randy?

Randy: it looks like a rat climbed to your face and died out of shame

Max: (laughing) okay okay enough, hey if you like it's okay don't you worry

Cody: oh yeah thank you for saying that after roasting the fuck out of me Max

Max: you are welcome, come on we need to get everything ready for tonight

Max and Cody left the locker room and started walking towards gorilla, Cody had a match tonight against Mike AKA The Miz one of Max's best friends, Mike was one the people Max first ever trained plus the times he defended Miz from backstage bullshit due to him coming from a reality show and that stuff they have been friends ever since

The plan for the match was going to be that Max was gonna interfere in it helping Cody to get the W, it was a good way to come back and also it set up stuff between Miz and Max for maybe stuff going down the line

Cody: hey, I almost forgot. How it went with the new trainees?

Max: oh they were good, it was diverse like always, you had indie wrestlers, athletes and someone who were totally new to it all. The usual stuff but they were promising

Cody: any of them caught your eye more than the rest?

Max: To be honest Rami was very promising, Max already saw what he could do when he stepped in the ring with him all the way back in '09 in ROH but Pamela was too, she had the enthusiasm and drive to become one of the best in the women division if given the opportunity and there was also Alexis, she was-

Cody: Max?

Max: Hmm? Oh yeah sorry, all of them were promising one way or another you know even Ashley and Alexis who never wrestled or did something outside of cheerleading or a common sport

Cody: I know Ashley was there but I don't know any Alexis? Who is she Max that you seem so much of a fan?

A smug smirk appeared in Cody's face as he stopped walking and stood in front of Max who just stared at him puzzled at the question he did, what does he mean by it?

Max: she is just a new girl who is passionate about becoming a wrestler and I admire that, why the trick question?

Cody: oh nothing it just seems like you are thinking of her a lot even with the very little time you have met her

Max: oh shut it Runnels, she is just a nice person okay don't go out there playing wingman for no reason, that's my job after all you are the reason you are getting married remember?

Cody just shaked his head as Max walked past him continuing his walk towards gorilla quickly as the show was just one hour from starting, yes he got there late but tell that to the airlines he had to travel with, Cody catched up to him and keep up with his speed

Cody: okay, you can't take all the credit for that, I was the one who proposed and all did the important stuff for me to get married okay?

Max: who convinced you to man up and ask Brandi to a date which made you two to have a relationship to begin with?

Cody: ......you

Max: case closed, now let's go I have to save you ass again in front of thousands of people

All was going as expected with Cody beating up the Miz while being a cocky bastard to him and the crowd

Cody went for the disaster kick but Miz evaded the attack but without knowing that the ref was right behind and got punished by it in the form of Cody's boot kicking him right in the face

The match was entering its final minutes and it was time for Miz to change the tide to his favor so he punched Cody right in the face and then hit a double knee facebreaker pinning Cody right after

The A-lister went for the pin just to realize the ref was out but he didn't let go of Cody's legs instead he held them and proceeded to trap Rhodes in a figure four leg lock in an attempt to buy time for the ref to get up while causing Cody extreme pain which he showed by screaming and trying to get out of the submission hold

But unbeknownst to the awesome one a figure sprinted from the crowd and jumped the barricade getting in the ring and hit Miz with a superkick right in the face. The man in the hoodie looked at the ref that was still knocked out in the floor and knew he had to act quickly before that changed so he grabbed Miz by the head and prepared to hit a move that immediately made the crowd know who the hooded man was and they cheered for it

After hitting the move right in the middle of the ring the man got out of the ring and picked up the ref throwing him in as Cody covered Miz for the 1, 2, 3

After the win the figure finally pulls the hood down and reveals itself as Maxwell Coleman which made the crowd, while already knowing it was him, pop. He got into the ring and helped Cody to his feet while asking for a mic to Lillian Garcia. The awesome one tried to grab Max by the leg but Max moved and grabbed Miz by the hair to get right to his face and look him right in the eyes.

Max: weeks, WEEKS! That's how long I have been wanting a match to finally shut you up and the second I am incapable of doing anything you come here and decide man up and run your mouth

The anger in Max's voice was loud and clear, Miz has been avoiding him for weeks now and the second he is unavailable to do anything he decides to run his mouth and even challenge his best friend in a match that last part set Max off more than anything else

Max: well I had enough of your crap Miz. I will have my match, you and me, I finally give you what you deserve and you finally SHUT. THE. HELL. UP!

Max let go of Miz's hair and raises Cody's arm in victory as they got out of the ring going to the back not before stopping at the stage and signaling Miz to suck it. As they got through the curtain they were met with a little applause and congrats for the match and the little promo afterwards Max especially since just a couple of guys knew he was there, the Bella twins, the usos and even CM punk wss there to say hi to him

He went back to the locker room to dress up and finally be able to watch the rest of the show as he likes to do even if he had nothing letf to do in the show but before he could leave he got a message on his phone, Ashley

Max chuckled at the messages and to the fact the girls were bonding over wrestling which genuinely made him happy and more knowing that Pam is finally opening herself up enough to accept going to Ashley's house to do this. Also that last message, he didn't knew what was about it what it made him smile, he told Ashley to thank Lexi for the compliment and went on to watch the rest of the show before going back to the hotel

Max: it's good to be back
