Standing there trying to explain to crazy guy that I wasn't his wife scared the heck out of me. He was wearing normal clothes though and if I was being honest I would say handsome. That's when the library doors opened and my grandma looks between him and I.

"Elise, who might this be?" Grandma asks.

Before I can say anything he goes up to my grandmas hand and kisses it. What the heck is he doing?!

"Forgive my rudeness of not introducing myself I am Errol. I am courting your granddaughter." He tells her.

Did he just tell her he was my boyfriend?! What in the world he was so not my boyfriend and I was going to rat him out until grandma ran and hugged me.

"Thank god! I was so worried you would die alone." She says as she hugs me.

I glare at Errol who just smiles at me. If he was a ghost I was going to find a way to kill him again.

"When did you arrive?" My grandma aks turning her attention back to him.

"Just this morning, I wanted to surprise Elise. Thought I could show you all around since I am from Scotland." He says as he comes up to my side.

"How thoughtful. Elise didn't even say she was dating someone." Grandma says.

Cause I'm not! This guy was crazy and now my own grandmother believes him! How in the world was this possible?

"Well one hour then meet your grandfather and I downstairs." She says as she turns and walks away.

''What the heck was that?! I'm not dating you whatever you are cause if your story is true there is no way you're human." I say as I walk up and stare him down.

''I know you're in there Brighid and I will do all in my power to make ya remember." He tells me grabbing my shoulders.

I groan and scream in frustration. This guy is a true loon. One who my grandma thinks I'm dating? Though that would get her off my back for a while.

'' Listen whoever you are the only thing you have done for me is cause trouble! How is the rest of my family going to react to some mystery boyfriend I have told them nothing about?!" I ask him.

"Your cute when you mad, one thing hasn't changed and that's your temper." He tells me with a smile.

"What?! Listen pal I'll play along with your little game and prove to you I'm not Brighid. Then once I do will you go back to wherever you came from?''

"You are Brighid you just don't remember lass.'' He says putting his hand on my cheek. "But I'll help ya remember."

For some reason when he touched me this time it felt amazing so comforting and nurturing.

"You really are real.''

"I am and I won't be leaving ya again love." He says pressing his for head against mine.

''Elise?!'' My grandpas voice calls out.

I push away from Errol and open the door to see Grandpa looking right at me.

"There you are! You grandma said your boyfriend was here?" Grandpa asks me confused.

Grandpa walks inside the library and looks at Errol then back at me.

"When I said marry a highlander I was joking. You know that right?" He says looking at me.

"Errol this is my grandfather Charles." I say as Errol walks forward and offers to shake grandpas hand.

"He's really your boyfriend?" Grandpa asks as he shakes Errols hand.

''Elise and I wanted to surprise you. After all we are going to be here for a month right?" Errol asks.

"Uh huh and what are you intentions for my granddaughter Errol?" Grandpa asks going into full detective mode.

Oh well this is embarrassing. There is no future or anything like that. He's a ghost or whatever!

"I plan to love honor and respect your granddaughter and one day make her my wife.'' Errol says as he comes to my side and wraps his arm around my waist.

That was such a smoother answer heck I almost believes it. Question was would grandpa believe him?

" How long have you two been together?" He asks us.

"About four months. Right?" I say as I nudge Errol to make him agree.

Errol nods but grandpa still looks him up and down. I cant tell what he is thinking either and that's never a good thing.

"Well, Elise you could have done worse I guess. Make sure to keep him away from the other brides maids.'' Grandpa says as he walks up to Errol. ''You hurt her at all, I'll kill you highlander or not."

Grandpa chuckles as he walks out of the room thinking he intimidated Errol.

"Your grandfather is right to look out for ya Brighid." Errol's says as I shake my head.

"My name is Elise but somehow you knew that, care to explain?" I say as I lean away from him and cross my arms.

"I heard your grandparents call ya by your name." He answers with a shrug.

"Yet you still think I am Brighid how? You don't make any sense." I tell him.

"Yes I believe you are Brighid perhaps reborn but still her. I'll make you remember love. Remember everything.'' He says leaning my way.

"Oh no you don't, I need time and probably alcohol now thanks to you." I say as I turn to walk out.

"Elise, give me a chance to prove you are here. What so you have too loose?'' Errol calls out to me.

Oh only my sanity though I may have lost that already. I sigh as I turn back to face him.

"Fine, at least this will keep grandma off my back for the month. No hanky panky though got it old man?''

"Hanky panky? What in the world is that?" He asks completely confused.

OK maybe he really was telling the truth. I roll my eyes in amusement at him.

"When we sleep together that is all we will do is sleep." I tell him.

"Ah, I wouldn't dishonor ya like that."

I motion for him to follow me and he does as we walk out of the library together. Why does something tell me I am going to regret this...
