Paris
Yves pov
The next morning, I am with Cyril on his estate. We are sitting on the edge of a fountain. "I heard you might be moving to Paris temporarily" I say. He nods. "Nice huh?" I don't want him to leave, but I also want to be happy for him. "When?" "If all goes well, I will leave next week." I look at him "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" "I thought you would get angry." I laugh. "Really?" he shakes his head. "I wanted to take you with me as a surprise." "Oh, so why are you saying that now?" "Your father didn't want it. He said that if you would leave you would not be allowed back." "Oh" I nod. "Well, I hope you will have fun in Paris." He smiles "I hope so too and it's only for six months or so." I bite my lip. "Do you know what can happen in six months?" I notice I have tears in my eyes. I quickly wipe them away and stand up. I walk past the fountain on the edge. "Why did you come so early today, anyway?" he asks I sigh. "I had an argument with Frances, but I just want to protect her." Cyril stands up and does exactly the same as I am doing. Eventually we collide and we both just barely stay upright. We laugh but the laughter soon turns into crying with me. Cyril gives me a hug. "It's okay" he leads me slowly to the ground. My head is light on his shoulder and his arms are wrapped around me. "I'm sorry" I say when I have recovered a little. "It's okay." We walk into the mansion and we decide to play some music I grab my cello and he sits down at the piano. We play something together, when I play the cello I am not in this world for a while. Nothing matters. I forget everything, my head concentrates completely on the melody and the perfect sound. I close my eyes and for a moment I float in the endless universe with only the music. I open my eyes and see that Cyril is looking at me. I smile shyly. "That was beautiful" he says
Frances pov
My mother wants to go to see the Blythes' land and she would like to take me with her. I had actually planned to be on Cyril's estate now but my brother has gone there and I do not want to go there. I think I may have been a bit too harsh but the problem is that I don't want to say so. And I don't understand what the problem is with opium, it's a medecine it can't hurt right? I can't stand it when me and Yves argue, Yves is part of what makes me me. I remember how much I cried when he left for his studies. I was so happy when he came back. He had met Cyril there and I was very jealous at first because it seemed like Cyril was a replacement for me but I got used to it and to be honest, our relationship got even better when he came back. I ponderingly look out of the carriage window. We arrive at the Blythes' house. They are already in front of the house to greet us. I greet everyone. "I believe you know everyone more or less." mister blythe says. I smile, it is the first time I see Enoch's face up close. He reminds me of my brother when he was young. The only difference is that you always saw Yves' pride, with this boy you see nothing. "Nice to see you again Frances." Says Eleanor and I'm glad she remembered my name. Our parents go inside and we follow them. "Is Frances going to marry Yves?" asks Enoch me. I laugh and Eleanor laughs too. "We never know right Eleanor?" She shakes her head. "I have one more ring to finish. I'll see you guys later." Says Enoch and he walks away. I smile. "What do you want to do Frances?" she asks when I see a bicycle. My father never let me ride a bike. Yves wanted to teach me to ride a bike once but our father found out and I was sent upstairs. I know I saw Yves come upstairs with a bloody nose. After that I didn't see him for three days. I still don't know exactly what happened but I don't think I want to know either. "Can you teach me how to ride a bike?" she nods. So apparently half of learning to ride a bike is falling over. It's very funny. Eventually I can ride for a bit. My face starts beaming and I look around her face is also beaming but that because I am not looking in front of I cycle into the flowers. She starts laughing. I laugh with her. I feel so incredibly alive. I laugh so hard it makes my stomach ache, tears come to my eyes. Eleanor is helping me. We hear a horse approaching. I look over and see Yves. He stops and dismounts. "Good afternoon ladies." He says. "Sorry I didn't announce I was coming but I thought it would be fun to go back together tonight Frances?" I smile and give him a hug. I whisper. "I love you." He lays his cheek against my hair. "Do you have stables?" he asks Eleanor, eleanor nods. "Where is Enoch?" Yves asks. "He's inside."
