9. Moments or Modus Vivendi?

3rd POV.

"I was extremely taken aback. I didn't wanted to but I decided to lie... " Naveen said and Naitik looked shocked as he looked at his grandmother, doubting her to be mad. She smiled shrugging, "Come on Naitik, don't give me that look. It's been years, do you think I would be mad now? After all this time?" she asked and they smiled a little. "Actually Naitik, your grandma had terrible trust issues, it was due to continuously hearing all wrong things... But yeah she had and I sensed it even back then." he said laughing a little but I was taken aback. Naitik looked at his grandma and she was staring back at him, they had this talk about trust issues and it was now that he realised that they all were personal and not something she had read somewhere.

Naveen stared at her and to what he knew of people, he could say that her boldness was not speaking. It was her trust issues that was showing. He stared at her and she stared back but soon her eyes faltered and she looked flushed but still she didn't go back on her questions. "Hmm... Yes. But I don't want to have children now." he said and though she wanted to ask what now exactly defined, she let that be. "That's all I wanted to talk and it's getting late we should start." she said, looking at her watch as he stared at her. "So? Is that a yes from you?" she flushed at his question and he got his answer. He paid the bill and they started.

"One thing that we didn't talk that day was financial condition. Who would spend, how much?" she said and Naitik smirked, "I am sure you were more than happy that Grandpa wanted to spend, though it got a big on your ego." he said. And though Navya stared at her mischievous grandson for a moment she split into giggles, "Yeah! I was so stressed. House Loan, Car Loan and the next to come were wedding expenses. Though his chauvinism got on my nerves, I put up with it." Naveen chuckled, his wife was a mixture of such different things that it surprised him. But what had surprised both of them even more back then was the scene awaiting them.

As they walked back, the words weren't exchanged and amidst the chaos in Mumbai, the occasional grazing of their hands or arms would create sparkles. Generally, being touched was something Navya hated, but after the talk they had, and with a mind frame of being each other's it didn't feel that irritating anymore. But she did retreat everytime, being the shy girl she was. On the other hand, this clearly wasn't Naveen's type of romance. He belonged there, where hugging people was a common form of greeting, but her reaction made the moment priceless for him. He knew clearly that either he was in what people called love or he was slowly falling in one. Her brightened cheeks amused him and her retreating for few moments before back to normal created an anticipation in him.

The mild for Mumbai type of crowd, the vehicle horns and careless people rushing and pushing was something both of them were not at all fond of. But as Navya received a push and for a moment was pushed towards Naveen, she didn't have a frown that she usually would have had and he didn't have the scowl that displayed his annoyance. At the least, they didn't thank the stranger for the moment that had just a second of eye contact before Navya jumped back and they started resuming their walk. They usual activity didn't seemed to irritate them anymore. As they say, Sometimes just one person lights up your world!

Tired of the silence, Navya spoke, "Mumbai is full of chaos, Hyderabad is much calmer." she said and Naveen smirked, "Yeah. But what's here, you won't get anywhere else. It's the financial capital." he said and stared at her feeling awe again. "You know Naitik, at that time, I didn't know so much about your Grandma, obviously we had just met but still... You know she had this side to her, where she thinks a lot about finances. You would be surprised to know but she is gonna, leave you a fortune also. That time, I was talking to her like she didn't know business, later when we talked more, I knew she knew a lot." he said and Navya added, "And I didn't knew he had such big ambitions, I thought, he was just in a very good job, because my father kept on mentioning it." she said.  "We also didn't know so much about each other, the things we should probably have talked. I was ready to go there, where there is a significant improvement in my career and finally paving way to my business. Mumbai was home." Naitik's eyes widened as he read frustration in his Grandfather's eyes. "And I did a lot to get rid of Mumbai and settle down in a calmer place. I even bought a home, but I had to shift back. Guess Mumbai loves me too much!" As soon as she said this, Naitik was shocked. They were not some jigsaw puzzle parts that fit in just perfectly.

Finally! Sorry! And THANK YOU KRISHNA..... YOU ARE A SAVIOR AND MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!!!!
