Six

Early in the morning before it is even light outside I am woken by the subtly sound of my door being pulled open and shut.

In the blink of an eye I'm sitting up and ready to freeze whoever it is. My eyes narrow when I see who it is.
"What in the heavens, are you doing?!"

Her back is still to me. Eliora jumps two feet's in the air and lets out a squeal. Her eyes are wide when she turns around. "Miss!!"

"Eliora."

She breaks into a huge smile and runs up to my bed. I scrabble back in surprise when she jumps on it.

Her hair is in a braid that looks like it was done in a hurry. Strands fly around her face and her green eyes are glowing. "He's here!!!"

"Who?!" Confused and annoyed she's disturbed my sleep, I try to keep my temper down. "Is it the royal family?! I thought they're to be here later by noon!!"

She actually laughs. It's weird hearing her laugh. Her laugh is soft and throaty, like it's coming right from her throat or something . "Not the royal family silly!! The baker!! He's come to deliver the pastries for today's events!!"

It's hard to ignore the fact that the girl just called me silly but I manage to. I sit up straighter. "He's here?!" My anger evaporates when I realize what it means. This means I can actually try and make a deal with him. If he disagrees I'll just have to use force. I get what I want no matter what. And I want this baker.

She nods and jumps off the bed. Her pale fingers grab mine and pull at them. "Let's go see him!! We'll be quiet." She talks like she and Audrey have done this numerous times.

My eyes narrow. What where they sneaking about for? Who were they spying on?! I roll my eyes, snatch my hands from hers but grudgingly get up.
"Where is he??"

As if I haven't just snapped at her, Eliora grins and nods towards the door. "C'mon, I'll show you."

The urge to send her away and go back to sleep is really strong, but I know I really want to see this baker. Sniff if he's a wizard or any other magical creature.

Grudgingly I slowly stand and slip my feet into my soft slippers. "Show me."

She abruptly grabs my arm and pulls me out of the room and down a hallway I've never seen before.

After three different turns we stop in front of a door. Eliora holds her hand up and shushes me.

The nerve of her!! And the fact that I wasn't even talking. Before I can protest she nods at the door and slowly but quietly pushes it open an inch.

She takes a peep and grins at me. "He's in there. Here, look..."

I eye her before taking a peep through the little slit. Two people are talking inside.

One is a really fat man in an apron and baker's hat. His double chin shakes as he talks. His lips are pulled into a huge grin and his hand is on stacks of wooden crates.

The other....

His hair is really dark and I can't tell the true color. It's not too long, just long enough to graze his collar. A few strands hover over his eyes. The eyes are an amber color. The type that looks like fire and the sun at the same time. He's wearing normal clothes but has a bag slung across his middle.

His voice is rich and deep. Soothing and soft at the same time. His lips are perfectly sculpted like his face. They are light pink and look awfully soft.

I scowl. I hate him already. But a girl's gotta get her bread.

I abruptly stand straight.

Eliora's mouth falls open. "Miss-"

I push open the door.

Both men turn to look at me. I'm shocked at the identical scowls that grace their faces.

The fat man actually scoffs. "What are you doing here?!"

I scoff back. "I hardly think it's your place to ask."

Their scowls turn in sync, to gapes.

I roll my eyes. I hardly have the time for disrespectful staff today. My only mission is six feet tall and draped in a weird bag.

Turning to the supposed baker I raise a brow. "We need to talk. It's not a suggestion."

He stares at me in disbelief for a while. His brows are scrunched In confusion and my hatred for him increasing by a ten fold. Even frowning the man still manages to look good.

I take a subtly sniff to check out if he's magic. All he smells like is spice and fresh pastries.

Finally his molten fire eyes turn hard and flashes as he talks. "No we do not." With that he turns to the baker and totally ignores me. "I'll be back for the remaining money. I have to be off now."

My mouth drops in disbelief when he turns, walks around and past me.

How dare he!! I curse the fact that Audrey was such a pushover.

My mind is made though. I have to get his hire and I will.

Eliora is shyly hiding outside the door when I barrel past.

The man walks briskly and straight as if he weren't always bent over a kitchen table. The muscles in his back stretch with each step and his hands swing by his side. He looks so y'all even in a hallways of high ceilings.

I glare and speed up to walk beside him. It would've been hard for Audrey to keep up with his long strides but I'm a million times stronger so it means nothing to me.
"I said I wanted to speak to you. As the princess I think I have enough authority to command you to stop!!"

He totally ignores me and stares straight ahead.

My anger is almost at its max and have to clench my hand to keep from tearing him apart. "I SAID I WANT TO SPEAK TO YOU!! YOU WILL LISTEN WHEN I SPEAK!!"
I am so pissed that I don't care that I'm shouting.

My breadth catches in my throat when in a second his hands are on me. My eyes widen. He suddenly pulls me into a small corner and basically pins me against the wall.

His hands burn against my shoulder where he has them and my breadths are in short gasps.

His eyes are alive with so much fire that no words form in my throat and his mouth is so close to mine, I can taste His breadth as it mixes with mine.

He lets out a harsh breadth before speaking. "I am not interested in you!! You are still naive and don't know what you want. Don't let your longing for company lead you to just anyone Audrey."

At first my mind doesn't understand anything that is coming out of his mouth, then two things make me gasp.

First, Audrey likes this douche!!

Second, Audrey freaking wakes up at his mention of her name. I feel her sit up with a gasp for a second before falling asleep again!!

"It's not personal..." he goes on totally oblivious. "You're a beautiful lady. You deserve a man who can take care of you and you don't deserve to be pushed into looking for men because of the way the people treat you." His eyes have turned soft and patronizing. "I'm sure the man for you is out there...."
He glances out of our hiding place. "And don't shout, you could wake someone."
