"For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; And their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence."
~ Proverbs 4:16-17 KJV

"I thought you had left with the others," Violet said in surprise, eyebrows raised in wonder. "I hope I did not keep you all waiting for so long."
She glanced about her expecting to find the others but saw no one else around in the hospital hallway.
"Can we talk... somewhere private?"
The gentle voice of the man whom she once called Mr Icy did not cease to amaze her. She had never thought she could hear such a voice from him.

Giuseppe knew something was off as he saw Vincenzo walking away with the wench he called a wife.
Something had changed in the man. A change he could not abide.
I have to set everything in motion before he returns to stop them.
For he could foresee what kind of obstacle the new Vincenzo could become.
He immediately placed a call to his trusted aide.
"Set the first part of new world order agenda in motion and get the votes before sundown. We are running out of time."
"Now? Already?" His aide, Buer, replied over the phone sounding surprised. "We will be missing the votes of Prince Vincenzo and Prince Sal. Should we still proceed, Capo?"
"What part of before sundown do you not understand?!" He almost growled into the phone. "We only need 4 votes from the elites. And you are not forgetting I am now a part of that, are you? Now, set it in motion before I have you replaced!"
"Okay, Capo." Buer's quaky voice responded before Giuseppe ended the call.
He turned around wanting to see to his so-called wife when another idea hit him.
If Lilith can't play her part well, it does not mean others are not trained enough to do so... and even better.
Going through his contacts, he found the name he was looking for and tapped the call button.
"Saluti (Greetings) Lamia..."

Violet's mind was flooded with a deluge of questions as she followed Vincenzo.
How did this happen? When did you find out the TRUTH? How did you get HIS LIGHT in you? Is this even real?
He led them to the rooftop of the hospital, the fragrance of flowers hitting her senses hitting her as they approached.
But, her mind was distracted from the beauty of the lovely flowers that decorated the place.
Calm down and take a deep breath, Violet. She told herself, willing her heart to quiet down as though she was in a fencing match with a formidable opponent.
"I need to apologise to you," Vincenzo finally turned around to face her. But he seemed unable to hold her gaze for long.
Another strange occurrence in this new man, she thought as she arched an eyebrow.
"I have not been the husband I should have been."
You just noticed? Is that why your face looks like you've been bitten by a mosquito? Violet wondered to herself laughing in her mind, enjoying the teasing her mind was giving this new Mr Icy—no, Vincenzo.
Seeing the stricken yet surprised expression on his face made her realise she had said her thoughts out loud.
"Bitten by a mosquito?"
"Fire and lightning!" She looked off to the side and muttered under her breath, making sure he would not hear her this time.
She immediately clamped her mouth shut as she thought of a better answer.
"You have nothing to apologise for," Violet's mouth softened into a warm smile as she finally managed to train her tongue to say what she really wanted to say.
"I know it must have been hard for you to suddenly be met with such a request," she chuckled softly.
"I do not know what my brother was thinking when he wrote such a preposterous will," she said in a light tone, the dimple in her cheek coming into full bloom.
Vincenzo seemed even more uncomfortable, if that was possible. So she plunged ahead.
"And besides, the agreement is not fully completed," she tried to assure him, once again noticing the pained look on his face. "It can be annulled as it is not yet done. Don't worry."
She tried to be brave, hoping her words of assurance would help the man. And she meant it, though a part of her felt a twinge of something she could not fully comprehend as she said those last words to him.
"That is not all I need to apologise for."
Taking in a deep breath, Violet sighed, preparing another speech in her mind she hoped would make him feel better about it all. A warm feeling of compassion for him filled her heart.
He is probably sorry for all the past treatments, she thought. Poor Vincenzo.
"I am telling you, it's nothing. I hold nothing against you. And besides..."
Vincenzo had covered his face with his hands as she was speaking and he finally exhaled loudly before he seemed to force his next words out.
"I knew what my brother was up to that day in Luxembourg... and... I did not stop him," the last words were said barely above a whisper.
Violet felt as though icy water had been splashed all over her freezing the smile on her face. Gone was the mirth she had been feeling.
Had she heard him right?
She found her heart at war. An unexpected one.
She had thought it was going to be a moment of delight to converse with this new man standing before her. But the pain from his last statement was too much to handle.
She felt a deep ache pierce her heart as though a dagger had been driven into it.
"You... cosa (what)?"She finally replied, with a hint of bitterness suddenly springing up within her, tearing at her heart as thorns.
Where from this feeling? She thought to herself. She felt she had no control over it.
For the joy that had been in her heart seemed to be at war with a great force of something akin to hatred and bitterness.
She did not know what to think nor how to even pray to her LORD to seek HIS Help in that moment of her vulnerability.
A verse immediately came to mind, "looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you..."
But that verse was immediately quelled by another voice.
"Don't forget he allowed you to be abused. He abandoned you. You are now defiled because of him. Stay away from him!!!"
The sneering voice continued to echo in one side of her mind.
~~~
"You are to emulate that LIGHT they carry and get close to them. Do you understand me?!" Giuseppe was getting more aggressive. The taste of power had strengthened his need to guard his position even further.
"Sì, Capo (Yes, boss)," she bowed to him.
Lamia took on her role with more grace, Giuseppe noted. Why hadn't he used her before?
Better late than never.
"As you know," she slowly rose and levelled her intelligent eyes on him, her mouth forming a brilliant smile. "Emulating their LIGHT is what we were made to do. I will not take my task lightly."
Leaning forward in his high seat, Giuseppe spread forth his hands over her as she knelt to receive from his power.
He was not going to leave her idly to do it on her own this time around. He would not make the same mistake he did with Lilith.
He was not going to stop until all power was his—and his alone.
~~~
"RUN!!!" The other voice continued to scream in Violet's mind.
"Stay..." the Still Small Voice rather intoned in her heart.
Violet felt she was at a Crossroads. Her heart knew what she ought to do to obey her LORD'S Will.
But every fibre of her being told her contrariwise. She could feel the bedrock of her faith shaking as though it had been struck by an earthquake.
It is not enough of a shame he knows what happened to me... but... he allowed it?
She was beyond hurt—beyond broken even.
Yet, the two voices continued to strive, waging war with each other. One was stronger and more aggressive, whilst the other was calmer.
A fog tried to permeate her mind and heart. And she did not know if she should finally let it have its way or not.
Violet knew she had a choice to make right there and then. She had to choose between the two voices.
It could not be both, it had to be one of the two.
