29 - WHEN THE CAPTAIN OF HOSTS CALLS... I MUST OBEY

Song for the Chapter: WAGING WAR

••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"We shall not grow weary of waiting upon God if we remember how long and how graciously he once waited for us."

— Charles Spurgeon

"I am not going anywhere," Violet declared to her Uncle, her voice resolute.

"But, we will use the second aircraft, so there is no need to worry," her Uncle coaxed.

Violet had come to realise that no aircraft would take off so long as she remained in it.

Besides that, she saw that her SAVIOUR, silent as HE had seemed, had a purpose for her in the Ferrari's Villa.

Whether they cared for her or not, she would still follow the path her Loving LORD Who knew all things had set before her.

"No, Uncle Louise," she tried to sound calm hoping to soften the blow of her resolve. "I think it will be best if I stay here. Besides, our Villa is only filled with memories I do not want to remember."

She thought she had sounded calm enough, but seeing a rage so familiar in her Uncle's eyes made her understand—and understand it all too well for that matter.

There was an orchestrator behind the pressure to leave. And the person was not unfamiliar to her.

How did I not notice it before? Perhaps, it was because I had given in to the spirit of depression they had sent, she realised also.

Giuseppe's signature was written all over the past and current events in her life, her marriage and even her near-death experience.

FATHER, please forgive me for being so blind to the truth all this while.

For she had begun to see his fingerprints in the past occurrences with her husband, Vincenzo.

She did not know how he would receive her or whether he would finally decide to send her away.

But, she was going to face whatever battle that lay ahead—with her LORD by her side, come what may.

And at that moment, HE was leading her back to the hospital.

For what reason? She knew not. But of course, she was still going to follow through. HE was calling her back to the battlefield.

And she was going to go all the way with HIM—even if it meant having her heart shredded to pieces.

For YOUR sake, HEAVENLY FATHER... for YOU, by YOUR GRACE, I humbly place my all on the Altar of Sacrifice for YOUR sake and for YOUR Glory.

With an air of pride at his accomplishments, Giuseppe had left his lair early as soon as he saw the girl climb the aircraft.

He had to return to his act of a "loving husband", he thought distastefully.

He did not care if Ginevra died in the process. That would even be to his greater advantage, to have two close relatives' blood on his altar.

After changing his clothes and perfecting his "look of desperation", he entered the hospital where he was to face his worst nightmare ever.

~~~
After spending all night in prayer, Vincenzo felt the drain of the battle that had been fought.
However, learning of Violet's return had broken his spirit even further.
"What do you mean she has left?" He had questioned the guard that had been positioned at her hospital door.
"Sorry, Principe, her Uncle decided to take her away early this dawn."
Is this what I get after all the prayers, LORD?
Yet, he found himself humbled before HIM. He had no right to question GOD about anything. Having HIM take his wretched soul back was indeed a miracle on its own.
Not knowing what else to do, he knew he had to see to the various tasks in his office.
~~~

Violet had not known of Ginevra's condition, till the angels that had held the aircraft back led her to a hospital room identical to and near the one she had been in.

Spotting the familiar guards at the door of the room, she began to wonder.

They easily let her in knowing who she was, and gave a curt bow.

She was dismayed to find a barely alive Ginevra on the hospital bed with her distraught relatives surrounding her.

But it was their response to her presence that shocked her even more.

"Violet!" A chorus of voices sounded with pleasant surprise—except one, of course.

"Vee!" Isabella sprung up to embrace her, having gotten used to calling her by the same name her brother had.

Oh, how Violet had missed her—all of them she even realised, except the "exception".

"I thought you had left amidst all the chaos."

Chaos?

Confused, Violet listened to what had happened when she had been unconscious.

So, they had not intentionally left me alone... nor had they wished me gone?

Glancing around once more, she saw that Vincenzo was nowhere to be found. And she found and felt an ache in her heart.

What about him, what would his reaction be when he sees I have returned? Anger? Disappointment?

She was also met by a pale-faced Giuseppe who looked like he had seen a ghost and wished to eat her alive.

His plans had failed, and he knew it.

"Oh, how glad I am to see you again," Queen Giulia said with deep emotion in her voice, her eyes red with tears which seemed like they wanted to resurface. "It felt like we had suffered a double loss with you gone."

"I am not going anywhere," a strong Force within Violet caused her to declare boldly looking each of them in the eyes, especially Giuseppe.

Yes, she had indeed returned to the battlefield. And until her Captain bid her retreat, she was going nowhere. No matter what anyone—even Vincenzo said or did.

Following the urge of THE HOLY SPIRIT, Violet approached the still, barely breathing form lying on the bed, her life hanging by a thread it seemed.

She touched her hand gently and closed her eyes as she began to pray quietly, disregarding all those present.

Violet through all her trials had learnt to obey despite what or who may be around her.

Violet had expected a slight rebuff from Queen Giulia though she had been glad to see her or even from Giuseppe. But, the latter seemed too disappointed and stunned, it appeared, to react at that moment.

She could feel the Power of her LORD flood the room. And it was no surprise when she heard Giuseppe mumble something and seemed to head out of the room.

"In JESUS' Mighty and Sublime Name, Amen." She finally allowed her eyelids to flutter open as she heard the gasps flood the room.

The pale young woman who had seemed in the throes of death had moved. And with colour slowly rising in her pale body, her eyes had opened as well.

She still looked weak and hazed. Yet, she managed to croak, "Vio—Violet?"

And Violet thought she heard her say in a fainter voice that none of the others had heard, "Sorry, Violet..."

~~~
Vincenzo seemed to be working solely on adrenaline as he went through file after file.
He was distracted as he heard his phone meant for personal purposes ring.
"Ciao?" He said without glancing at the phone screen as he answered the phone call.
He had to stop all tasks at hand when he received the news that Ginevra was out of unconsciousness.
He did not wait to hear the rest of the details as he told them he would be right there.
~~~

Sipping from a cold drink Isabella always seemed to have ready at hand, Violet quietly listened as the former went on and on about all that had happened.

"I thought we were going to lose you both," she went on with widened eyes. And it was not the first time she had told Violet that. "I thought the whole world was coming to an end."

She sighed a sigh of relief and leaned back in the cushioned hospital seat as the Doctors continued to check on Ginevra.

"I really thought—"

The hospital door swung open just then as someone came into full view of Isabella who was facing that direction.

Wondering what had caught her friend and sister's attention to finally halt her litany of "What I thought was going to happen", Violet turned to face the door as well.

And there, stopped in his tracks at the sight of her, stood the man she had so often called Mr Icy.

But, she could no longer call him that, could she?

I really love such Chapters... there are indeed many mighty ones, but only ONE ALMIGHTY. 🔥☝🏻🔥

Kindly let me know what you think. 😃

And... by GOD'S Grace, I am hoping to make an audiobook version of this story even as it is going on. I don't feel trained enough to do it nor do I know where to even start. But, by HIS Mercies, I pray HE sees us through. What do we all think, please?

Does anyone have a suggestion as to where it could be posted if it is possible?

GOD bless you all so much for all the support. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥹💞

And the song inspiration for the next chapter, GOD willing, gifted to me by someone so dear, is here below. 🥰🥰🥰

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
