Chapter 12: I Mess Up. Opps.

"No spoiling anything, got it, Wendy? Gajeel?" I say, pointing an accusing finger at the two of them. They both nod, and I smile.

Gray, Natsu, and I were in front of the guildhall, spread out. It was going to be two against one; them against me. The majority of the Fairytail guild had joined us outside to watch this fight between two of their stronger members and me, an outsider who they hadn't even seen do magic yet.

"On a court of three!!" Mirajane-San called out, "One, two..."

THREE! Natsu launches himself at me as Gray slams his hands together.

"Fire Drafon's Iron Fist!!" Natsu calls out as his fists light on fire. I give a small smile as I side step out of the way.

Hmm.... should I toy with them? Gray then uses his magic, yelling "Ice-Make!!"

Beneath me, ice formed, creating spikes. I flipped out of the way, but ran right into Natsu forming a Wing Attack. I got flung back, sliding on the ground right into the crowd.

"So that's how you're gonna play, eh?" I mutter, dashing back out. While running, I hit my left hand against the palm of my right.

"Ice-Make: Katana!" Between my hands, an ice sword formed. I gripped the handle with my left hand, grinning at the two.

"She's an Ice Wizard too?" I heard some murmurs from the crowd. I charged towards Gray, catching him off guard. He barely managed to form a shield before I hit him with my blade.

Bouncing backwards, I swung my blade towards his open feet, successfully cutting him. However, it wasn't very deep, and it broke my Katana.

I felt heat on my back, and narrowly evaded as Natsu breathed fire at me. Still, my left arm got singed, and Gray and some onlookers had to dodge away or else be burnt.

"Watch where you're aiming!" Gray got after Natsu, before they both charged, trying to catch me off guard.

Everything slowed as I glanced back, finding I was pinned against the crowd. I looked back, Natsu's fire on my left, Gray's ice on my right. Instinctively, I blocked with my hands, absorbing the attack.

Time resumed as my opponents looked at me astonished. I glanced down, noticing that I had automatically transformed Gray's ice into fire, and that both my hands were in flames.

"Well, I guess that's out of the bag," I comment, before shaking the fire off. I dashed to the middle of the area as the boys recovered, and took a deep breath.

"Ice-Fire Dragon Combo," I say, "Fiery Wings!"

Natsu and Gray was knocked onto the ground as a combination of two opposites hit them square on. I walked over to them, motioning for Wendy to come over.

"I didn't know you learned Ice-Make magic!" Wendy said as she healed Gray. I shrugged.

"You didn't ask," I state, "Besides, it's not much different from my Dragon Slaying magic."

"You're a Dragon Slayer too?" I turn around to see a woman with red hair, a skirt, and an armor breastplate walking towards me. I nod, unsure of who this person was.

"Ersa," Nevermind, Natsu just answered my question. Ersa looked down at the wizards, before turning her attention back to me.

"Were you holding back?"

Eh?!?

"Huh?" Gray got up, looking at me.

"Whaddya mean Ersa, 'holding back'?" Natsu stood up also.

"I mean exactly as I said it. She appeared to be holding back against you two."

Was I that obvious? No, I held back less than I did at the Games. "Sorry," I say, "It's kinda a habbit."

"That attack was holding back??" The blonde from before commented from beside Gray.

"Er... sort of?" I step back. "I mean...."

'Ugh...' I leaned back in my chair. Why is writing so hard? I had been working on this story forever, but recently, I couldn't think of anything. It was 1 o'clock in the morning, and my eyes were heavy.

'Just a moment then...'

"Tell me, puny mortal, what is your wish?"

"Hmm?" I looked at the blurry figure in front of me. "I dunno, maybe to know what to do in my story to make it more interesting...." I shrugged nonchalantly at the disembodied voice.

"That is it?" The voice laughed, "Fine, mortal, you shall receive your desire."

I shook my head, groggy. I must have fallen asleep, I thought, before sitting up on the ground. My white-with-red-streak hair fell over my shoulder, so I brushed it aside.

"Wait... White hair?" Last I checked, I had golden brown...

"You're awake," a familiar voice greeted me from my right.

And there stood my favorite character in this fictional world:

Zeref.
