The Hybrid: Chapter Sixteen
Kaiden grunted as he carried the body of the Drell on the hospital bed. He was hoping to be able to load him into the vehicle without much notice. All was good until he got to the elevator. He pushed the button to call the elevator up to the second floor. Kaiden looked behind him, seeing a gaurd walking down the hallways. He swore under his breath, turning his attention to the Drell making sure he was covered. Kaiden thought quickly on what he was going to tell the gaurd when he got closer.
I could just kill him.
The possibility of someone not hearing the shot from the pistol wasn't likely. There are other residents in the hospital and overnight nurses in the rooms looking out for their patients. It just so happened that the nurse watching the Drell was stuffed into a closet with her foot in her mouth. The elevator dinged, Kaiden pushing the bed rather quickly into the open doors. This caused alarm for the guard who was now charging down the hallway. Kaiden rolled his eyes, quickly grabbing the pistol and his weighst and shot at the guard. Clean shot in the middle of the forehead. The guard stopped dead in his tracks as the elevator doors closed. A blood curdling scream could be heard as the elevator starts to move down; making Kaiden smile at the sound.
"The Drell has been captured, returning to base." Kaiden said into his earpiece. The elevator dinged again, the doors opening to see a few gaurds standing in front of Kaiden, weapons drawn. As they shouted, Kaiden stood there mentally preparing himself for what he was about to do. Thanks to the great people of Cerberus, they were able to make his biotics better then they were before. He was finally healed from the pains of his past. He will no longer suffer from the horrible migraines he got. Instead, he grew even more powerful.
"You cannot stop me." Kaiden growled, surging out a biotic field, throwing the gaurds back several feet. Knocking some to the ground and others against the wall, breaking the concrete, letting them slide down to the floor leaving a small blood trail from where their heads slammed against the wall. Kaiden quickly grabbed his pistol at his hip, firing shots on the gaurds making sure they were dead before turning around and grabing the Drell from the elevator. Kaiden began to push the hospital bed rather quickly towards the entrance of the hospital.
"Let's go, Kaiden!" His friend, Wesley, growled into his earpiece.
"Nearly there. Ran into trouble." Kaiden panted. He looked behind him and saw some more C-Sec gaurds rushing after him. He extended his arm, firing another biotic blast towards the officers. Kaiden saw Wesley opening the door to the black van. Wesley pulled out his assault rifle to fire at the C-Sec gaurds. Kaiden could hear shouting from a man behind him. Kaiden heard a name that sent shivers through his spine.
"SOMEONE GET SHEPARD NOW!"
Kaiden shook his head, trying to block out his emotions so he could get the Drell inside the vehicle. With the help of Wesley, they were able to get the assassin into the car. Kaiden followed the Drell into the back of the car while Wesley got into the driverseat. Once Kaiden was inside, he took the sheet off of the Drell, seeing him lay there in the hospital gown pissed Kaiden off. He should have been dead but instead the assassin lives on to have another chance at killing him.
"Your fucking lucky I don't blow your brains out right now." Kaiden hissed.
"Shepard will get what she deserves." Wesley grumbled, "she left you to die and for what?" Wesley tightened his grip onto the steering wheel.
"Let it go, Wesley. You weren't even around."
"No but I could have been." Wesley snapped back.
There was a tense moment between the two. It quickly ended when the Drell stirred. Kaiden looked down at the pathetic creature hoping that Dr. Heart will have his way with him. Kaiden had images in his head, impure thoughts of the Drell being caught up into small pieces, butchered to have his DNA mixed with a human-being.
"When we get back to the ship, I'm personally going to give him to Doctor Heart." Kaiden looked up towards Wesley in the rear view mirror, meeting Wesley's gauze.
"I want your help to kill Shepard and that damn Turian. No matter what Doctor Heart or the illusive man says."

"What do you mean he's gone?!" Shepard panicked.
Garrus was at the door, his breath hitched in his throat. He couldn't think. What he just saw from the footage sent to him by Captain Bailey. Garrus slammed his fist against the wall, swearing under his breath as his head pounds from last night's drinking.
"Garrus! Just spill it!" Shepard panicked, not wanting to deal with the dramatics.
"He's fucking alive, Shepard! K-kaiden..."
Silence.
Shepard stumbled back. She left him there to die. She saved Ashley and left Kaiden to set off the bomb. There was no possible way he would have lived through it.
"We need to go find him." Shepard collected herself and pushed herself out of her room. She grabbed her pistol from the nightstand as soon as Garrus hammered his fist to the door. Shepard rushed with Garrus where Captain Bailey was in the C-Sec ward. He was outside of his office demanding that his men find whoever it was they were looking for. Shepard assumed the man that he was talking about was Kaiden.
"Captain!" Shepard called out.
"Why is your man firing at mine? The hospital is in an uproar over a lost Drell and now this man is shooting my men!"
Shepard rubbed the back of her neck out of being anxious. Kaiden kidnapped Thane and now she had a hunt on her hands. She glanced over to Garrus who looked panicked. Shepard looked back to Captain Bailey.
"I have a feeling of where he is. He must have taken out Drell—"
"Damn you!"
Shepard was suddenly in a headlock. From the voice she knew that it was Thane's son, they had only met a week before, before the shit hit the fan with Doctor Heart. Garrus was quick to point his gun towards the Drell, along with other C-Sec officers.
"Lower your weapons!" Kolyat cried out, "what happened to my father?!" He yelled. Shepard didn't know that they could be so rash like this. Thane was the only Drell she had ever met and he was calm, even when he was upset he never raised his voice. It stayed monotoned.
"Let me go and we will talk." Shepard gasped, her throat tightening under Kolyat's grip.
"If he dies..."
"He's going to die anyway." Garrus growled, "let her go before I put a bullet through your skull."
Kolyat growled, throwing Shepard to the ground. Shepard coughed, glaring up at Garrus. She tried to think of what to tell Kolyat but even she didn't know what happened to Thane. Garrus lowered his weapon, kneeling down next to Shepard and helped her to her feet. She turned to Kolyat, making sure her weapon was still holstered to her hip.
"You are going with us." Shepard told Kolyat. She turned to Captain Bailey, "can you download the information you have onto my datapad?"
Captain Bailey nods as Shepard hands her the datapad that she had on Doctor Heart. All she could think about was how everything was connecting and how sick it was making her feel. They were going to kill Thane if she was too late to save him. They followed Captain Bailey to the C-Sec office, watching him connect the datapad to his, downloading the footage he had of the man who took Thane. Shepard had her doubts that it was Kaiden but then again, Cerberus was able to tesseract her. Who says Kaiden wasn't the first test subject?
"Here you go." Captain Bailey hands Shepard her datapad. She thanked him with a nod, motioning to Garrus and Kolyat that they were leaving. Everything inside Shepard was telling her not to do it, not to look at the datapad. Shepard couldn't help herself. With little to no hesitation, she hit play. What she saw next nearly made her fall, or possibly want to shoot up the Citadel. Kaiden looked up to the camera of the hospital, right next to Thane's door. Shepard zoomed in closer to his face, noticing that he was talking.
"You are next, Shepard."
