Journal Entires #1

Sitting here right now, I fully realize that we, or more I, have made several incredibly poor choices in the last few months. There is no doubt about that. I would mention them all now, but I'm sure the others will read over this before they write their own entries, and the last thing I need is a fight to start before the first major test of our current abilities. If we fail, we will die.

Teamwork will be rather important in that case.

I'm sure if you're not a member of my team, you are extremely confused at the moment.

Hello, I am Terra Walker. Up until two months ago, almost three now, I was just a regular high school junior. Well, I was not entirely your average junior. I was student council president, on my way to being salutatorian (though I was aiming for valedictorian), was interested in the most amazing boy (unfortunately he didn't seem to notice, and he may never if I die here and I suppose this fact still makes me average I don't know why I said anything).

What changed?

Well, I decided to follow a girl who I've never gotten along with into the woods, and somehow released hell on earth. And despite what you may think, that is not even the strangest thing that's happened to me since.

However, I do not have the time to explain the others. My turn to write is nearly up, and soon I'll have to pass this notebook off to someone else. We all decided we'd each have four minutes to write, and that we should keep it all in the same book. That way, if we all die, we'll leave something behind to somewhat explain.

If we manage to live, we can keep adding to our story.

I don't know who I want to address in this. Obviously, I should take this as a chance to say my goodbyes, but...That seems odd to me. Writing down goodbyes is almost like saying that I for sure am going to die.

I suppose. If I do die, I would like to say I'm sorry to my father and brother. You two won't have seen a thing coming, so my death will probably come as a shock. I'm sorry for not telling you two anything about this, but I'm sure you can see why I couldn't. I would have sounded insane if I had told you two I let demons out of an old seal and had to hunt them down.

Before I go, I have a message for my team, in case I don't get a chance to say any of this before we go in.

Luke, you can act as brave as you'd like, but I know you're just as terrified as the rest of us, the same goes to "our dear leader". If treating this like a game is how you cope, then fine. But you can admit that you're as scared as I know you are.

Danieal, I know I don't really have to say anything to you. Though you don't speak often, you do seem to have a pretty good handle on things, and you seem to understand how serious everything is. I suppose I can only tell you that blowing everything up will not solve all of our problems.

Skylynn, I am so sorry you of all people got caught up in this. I know it's probably been the hardest on you. I promise I'll do everything I can to make sure you, and all of the others stay safe. If you never want to talk to us all again when this whole thing is over, I understand fully.

Marie, Annabeth is not your responsibility, For as long as I've known you, you've stuck to her side. I used to think that was because you were dependant on her, but now I get it. You think it's your job to keep her from getting herself hurt, from hurting others. That's not the case. She is a big girl, who is responsible for her own actions. You'll only end up hurt if you continue to try and protect her as her shield.

Annabeth, I'm sure you don't care what I have to say about you, you never have. But, know that I do trust you as a leader. You make awful life choices, but I'll admit you know what you're doing in a fight. Be safe in there though, alright?

Terra seriously knows how to make something serious and morbid. Then again, the situation is both serious and morbid, so I can see how she could do so easily.

Firstly, despite what she said, I am not scared. Luke Ash isn't scared of shit. This is literally just like a real life game to me, so there isn't any reason to be scared. I started out normal, a world endangering thing happened, I got cool powers, and now I have to level up and save the world.

Yeah, I am perfectly aware if I die I won't respawn. I'll admit to that being a little more off putting then anything else. It's not like I want to die or anything like that, I actually think life is great. I love my family, my friends, school is even pretty fun lately.

So yeah. I really don't want to die. That's why I can't be scared. If I'm scared, I'll make mistakes, and that will lead to me dying...And the rest of the team. If one of us messes up, we could all pay for it.

Granted, that's mostly because somehow the most self sacrificing kids all ended up on this team. Like, seriously. High schoolers are supposed to be selfish, but literally all of us seem to be ready to die to keep the others safe. Either literally everything got teenagers wrong, or we're a bunch of freaks.

Honestly, it could be both.

I don't really want to tell the others, and I doubt they'll take the time to read this since they only have four minutes to write and I never say anything worthwhile, but I don't think we're all going to live through this. My guide said that most hunters die the first, and technically the last, time they take on a higher level demon. We've struggled with the grunts before, we're obviously not ready for this. But, it's not like we can really put it off either. If we can't take care of this somehow, the city and the world are both kind of fucked.

Danny and I talked before this, and we both decided that we should be the only ones to die. Call it old fashioned, or maybe even sexist, but we're gonna protect the girls. Yeah, I've seen first hand that Anna kicks serious ass, Terra can normally figure out a good strategy, Skylynn is getting really good at those barriers, and Marie is a fucking hot sniper, but still. Even if they can handle themselves, we'll protect them. Maybe it's because we're both big brothers that we feel like we should protect the girls. I have no idea.

But, if anyone dies, it's gonna be one of us. Of course, I'll protect the big guy too. I don't really want to live without my best friend. I know that sounds like a sappy, preteen girl thing to say. But Danny and I have been together forever, life without him just wouldn't be right.

Well, that's all I have to say. If I took the time to address my family, I'd need at least an hour. They know I love them enough, so I don't need to write it out.

Luke Ash, logging out.

-----

Luke you're a fucking nerd. I didn't really read what you had to say, but really? Logging out?

Fucking. Nerd.

I love you so much man.

I have four minutes to write, but I don't know what to say. I'm Danny? I'm a junior in high school? I accidentally dated a demon for like a month? I blow stuff up and that's pretty cool? If I die I'm haunting a burger king?

Really my options are pretty limited for what to talk about. I don't have a lot of time, and I don't want to get emotional before I run into a literal death trap to blow it up. I'm probably going to miss watching tv with Luke tonight, but I'm pretty sure he has other plans too so that's okay.

Knowing Luke and Terra, they probably talked about dying in their entries, and I don't want to do that. Talking about it feels like...Cementing that it's going to happen. So I'm not going to talk about it.

What I am going to talk about is pointless, stupid things. I miss my ex, oddly enough. She might have been a literal demon, but she was a lot of fun to be around. Aside from that, she wasn't at all nervous or scared of me from the get go, which was admittedly nice. Most cute girls were pretty nervous that I was an angry, bad guy or something. It really isn't my fault that I'm naturally tall and bulky, or that I apparently have resting bitch face to the max. But, for some reason, those things made getting a girlfriend pretty hard.

Also walking anywhere with low hanging anything. Short people are lucky.

Alright, I've just sat here for a while, and my time is finally up. I think my ass was starting to fall asleep, so that's great news.

I'm out.

-----

Skylynn wanted to write last, so I'm going to let her. I feel sick to my stomach right now, and Terra said that writing might make me feel better, but I don't think so. Still, I'm giving it a try.

I've already come close to dying before. It was one of the most terrifying days of my life, but I did live. I lost two of the most important people in my life, but I lived. I got new people who were important to me. Obviously, those who died can't be replaced but...

I'm scared that I'll lose my new important people again. I'm scared that I'll be the only survivor again.

Aunt Kat will probably cry a lot of Anna or I die, or simply disappear. It hurts just to think about that.

Anna probably will do whatever she can to keep me alive, but I don't want her to be in even more danger because I'm weak and useless.

The same with Luke and Danny.

Terra will blame herself if anything happens, for sure.

Skylynn. I don't want her to have to see somebody die. I don't think she could handle that.

I don't want to die, and I don't want to be the only survivor either.

I guess the only option there is is for me to make sure everyone lives, right? Even though I only have a bow, and a few special arrows...There has to be plenty I can do with just that. I'm not flashy like Anna, Luke, and Danny. I can't just protect myself like Skylynn, or see the futures like Terra. But I'll do what I can with what I have.

That should be enough. And if it's not then...It won't matter much, will it? If we all fail, then I guess I'm sorry to the world. We let the demons go, and couldn't manage to stop them from taking over. Heaven cursed us, like Lucio said.

He's been telling me what he wants me to write this entire time, but I'm ignoring him. I actually think he's saying a lot of it to cheer me up, and I guess it's working a little. I heard from the others that their guides tend to be annoying and overbearing, but Lucio is just...Fun to be around, and a good mentor. He says he can't wait until I figure out guns, since this world has so many new ones, and my imagination is good.

Personally, I want to figure out catapults. Those seem way better.

Everyone is so...God. Acting like there is almost no way we're gonna live through this, like all of our hard work will be worthless.

It won't.

I won't die, and neither will any of the others. We worked hard, we've learned so much about our skills.

And I'm a total badass, so I can carry everyone anyways. That's my job as the leader, self appointed or not. It's my fault we're all in this mess, so I'll take full responsibility.

Terra is being really fucking annoying lately though, even more than before. Acting like she suddenly understands everyone, like she understands me. I guess the honors student has always tried to figure out the problem child. Takes one damn phycology course and boom, she knows all about me.

She doesn't know shit. But, she isn't that bad, really. The chick just needs to go to the bad side of town more often and have a bit of fun.

Even now, I can hear her talking to the others, trying to keep morale up. She knows all the ways this can work out already, and from how positive she's trying to force herself to be, not many of them are good.

I'll just have to fix that.

Danny is nervous too, causing these little explosions that are so fucking cool. I mean, my swords and daggers and damn sweet, don't get me wrong. But exploding swords and daggers would be way cooler.

Can I figure that power out? Like right now. I wanna just blow up this entire place and call it a day, looking away from all of them because cool chicks do that. I've seen the movies.

Of course, if this is a horror movie, I'm the blonde haired, blue eyed white girl. If I had giant tits, I'd be guaranteed to die...

But this is more like an action movie, so I'm getting some sweet ass instead at the end of this.

I'd better get some sweet ass after this.

Elio just told me to stop being so vulgar.

Fuck him, he doesn't have a sweet ass.

Okay, he might, I wouldn't know.

Still.

Fuck him.

Anyways, I'm gonna pass this thing off now.

I WILL NOT DIE.

I promise.

------

I don't have any time left to write, really. I spent most of my four minutes reading what the others had to say. Everything was so very like them.

Terra is as strong and amazing as ever. I wish I could be like her.

I wish I could tell her how much I adore her, at least before we all go risk death. But, I don't want to put that kind of pressure on her, now is not the time.

Luke is...Very much Luke. The same for Danny. I'm so upset with myself for ever thinking Danny was a bad guy, just because he was massive and scary looking.

Luke said gingers can't be scary once, and I think he might have been just a little right...But only when it comes to Danny.

Marie is determined, anyone can tell that much. I know she'll be just fine in there, I've seen her skills when she's half asleep shooting in total darkness. It's amazing.

Anna is the most amazing leader I've ever seen. I know she already has a great plan.

They will all live.

I probably will not, and I've made peace with that. If my plan works, I will die, and I will be the only one.

If that is the case, the others are probably reading over this right now. I'm sorry you guys, but Leveret agrees with me, that this is the best option. I've progressed quickly enough with my powers that it'll work perfectly, and it's something that he didn't manage to learn until he'd already lost half of his team.

Terra, I know you couldn't have seen this coming. I'm a coward, so even if you had seen this happening, you probably didn't cross your mind as something that would be likely.

Luke, Danny, I know you wanted to protect the girls, more me than the others, but the other girls are strong. And I can manage to do this much at least.

Marie, you don't need to worry about what I can and cannot handle. It's true, I've never seen a dead body aside from the grotesque demons we've managed to take down, but I don't think I'll be seeing a human one ever at this rate. Thats...At least one good thing, I suppose.

Anna, I'm sorry I didn't follow whatever plan you came up with. I'm sure it was great, but mine has less risks, I can already tell you that much.

Everyone, be careful in the next place.

And I'm sorry.

A/N

Well, I'm actually writting something on here again. Amazing, its not a new roleplay, I know.

Anyways, what do you all think? Do you like the main characters so far?
