Visiting the nurse isn't something Takumi ever wants to do again. The nurse was a man who Takumi determine is a vampire. From what he'd seen this vampire was too friendly for his liking. The first thing the nurse said to him was to call him Niles and then ordered Takumi to strip. If Leo wasn't there to tell him that the man with an eyepatch and white hair with tan skin was joking, Takumi wouldn't had minded hunting him right then and there. After that eccentric meeting the two boys were sent back to class with Niles saying something about being careful with certain brands as a goodbye. And, of course, Takumi is still wearing his bloody shirt.

Thankfully the blood can be hidden if the sleeves are roll up. Thus the school day ends without conflict. However it isn't done yet.

Kamui and Sakura enters Takumi's classroom after the school's last bell earning the lingering students attention. Kamui smiles and beckons, "Takumi let's go!"

Takumi is beyond confuse at what she meant be 'let's go'. His face is questionable and ask, "What do you mean?"

"To the Kyudo club," Sakura briefly explains. At this point Takumi understands and follows the two girls. However Takumi isn't so sure that the team is still taking new members.

They reach the area for archery practice and Kamui seems to be talking to some of the members. She wears a dazzling smile and at times point at Takumi. Her actions seem to just keep making anticipation bunch into Takumi's stomach. After Kamui bows to the members she was talking to she runs to Takumi and apologize, "Takumi! Takumi, sorry the only way they'll accept new members this late is that they have to acknowledge your skills with the bow."

She clasp her snowy hands in apology and slightly bows her head. Takumi snorts at her words and challenges, "Alright I show them what I got. Just hand me a bow."

With confidence he walks up to the kyudo members to explain he wanted to join. They look to have smiles on their faces but every word they say was to mock him that he wouldn't be able to pass. This makes Takumi wonder if everyone at this school are all condescending jerks. Still Takumi insist that he'll do it.

Everyone at the practice area stop to look at the silver head boy pick up a bow and a set of arrows. Takumi glances at the target 100 feet away from where he stands. The examiner who is judging him seem uninterested in this but soon that'll change. Takumi flicks at the string of the bow to test its flexibility before lightly pulling it to test its strength. After confirming the state of his bow he grabs an arrow and holds it with grace.

Slowly Takumi calm his breathing so he can listen to his heartbeat. He moves into form like it is a dance. Elegantly holding his position, his muscles flex as he draws the bow string with arrow between fingers. The lining of his back is clearly seen through his clothing and the concentration in his eyes makes one look away. Steadily he slows his breathing to a haunting stop, then let's go.

Without waiting for the arrow to finish its flight he grabs another one. This time he is faster and quickly draws the arrow, his fingers briefly brushing his cheek. Then he lets it whistle through the air and wait for it to meet up with its companion puncturing the bullseye. Takumi is incredibly unsatisfied with this and he lowers his bow. His head flicks to the girl that is judging him. Her eyes are full of amazement at Takumi's skills but curious on why he stop.

"I'm going to apologize in advance for what's about to happen. So sorry." Takumi bows deeply before turning to position. Before the girl can respond Takumi already fires an arrow. A thump can be heard after the sound of wood splits. The wooden arrow splits like a blooming flower. Takumi smiles and proceeds to send another arrow fly. It splits the last arrow he had released and with his two remaining arrows he splits the arrows one last time. He looks at his work and smiles at the flower he bloomed.

The unnamed girl gawks at Takumi as she couldn't believe her eyes. She chokes out her words in disbelief, "Did you... You just, wait weren't those? They aren't hollow arrows so is that even possible?"

"Normally it isn't but I had my second arrow help cut a slit to make it split. Then I just hoped that by using strength and technique the rest of the arrows will split." Takumi lowers his bow while explaining to the girl. Then he bows again, "Sorry about the arrows, I didn't really know what skills I was suppose to show."

The girl flusters at his actions and runs to the seniors. Then she comes back with a girl with short blue hair and blue eyes accompanying her. A white headband decorates her hair though it's pointless as it doesn't pull back any of the bangs covering the left side of her face. However the way everyone bows to her convince Takumi she was an important person. Takumi mimics everyone else and bows.

"Captain Setsuna! This is him," the girl cries. Setsuna looks at her as if she said the weather is nice today and continues forth to Takumi. She lightly purse her lips while studying the boy with silver hair. Then without taking a glance at the target she points at him.

"Your hand is bleeding," she murmurs and offers to take the bow from him. Takumi trades her the longbow and grimace at the blood prints he left on it.

"Takumi are you alright?" Sakura asks with worry filling her voice. She gently grabs his left hand and wipes the blood with her handkerchief. "How did you get these cuts?"

"Earlier a cat scratch me and using the bow must had force it to reopen," Takumi mentions while he can feel countless eyes on him.

"No... that's no good, Takumi. You're suspended from club activities until your hand heals," Setsuna softly orders.

"Wha-" Takumi begins speaking until Kamui interrupts him.

"Takumi you're amazing! You even caught the famed kyudo captain's eyes. She's well known for not having a long attention span since she's easily bored." Her red apple eyes smile with glee as her excitement is apparent to Takumi. However despite her happy attitude she quickly mellows down at an alarming rate and confess, "But Takumi you should wait on officially signing up. You've hurt yourself quite badly and I don't want to see you forcing yourself again."

She place a delicate snowy hand on Takumi's injured one and lightly strokes it. Sakura also agrees to Kamui's words, "Yeah please brother? Let's go home now."

It's obvious Takumi couldn't refuse his sisters pleads so there's no way he can refuse them now. He was fully prepare for any negative effects from helping out Leo and now he is getting it. Though he kinda wish he didn't do the blood in the bottle thing, it was pretty out there for helping just one vampire. He gives Kamui's hand a small squeeze from his right hand and concedes, "Yeah we should head on home."

"Oh wow... I wonder if Robin Hood came here and split the arrows. That's cool but I wonder where he is?" Setsuna's lazy voice ponders and brings Takumi another matter he should settle.

After being told constantly that Takumi didn't need to replace the arrows since they were old ones for beginners to use the sibling trio quickly went home.

An unsettling hug of chills wraps Takumi heart as they near the house. Giving no mind to his chatting sisters he speeds up his pace. Then it a familiar pulse beats his heart and his mind clicks, Hawkeyes, it was telling him that a vampire is near. No the exact location is inside the house. At the realization of this Takumi sprints to see an open door and a strange man in the hallway that is visible.

Takumi can hear Mikoto begging the man to stop and his emotions flare. With his bag slang over his shoulder he drops it and runs inside. Tensing his muscles he tackles the man down and he doesn't hold anything back since he's attacking a vampire. Takumi can feel the distance he travel with the man and the moment they hit ground Takumi begins to grapple with him. Takumi yells, "Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine Takumi! Just don't hurt yourself." Mikoto shouts from a different room. The two of them keep grappling as the intruder constantly tries to escape. It's apparent that the intruder didn't want to fight as a vampire and Takumi takes advantage of this. Slowly Takumi starts luring the masked vampire upstairs to trap them. Then with skill manage to throw the inexperienced fighter into his room. It breaks the lock on his door and makes the door swing wide open. Takumi will have to replace the doorknob but that isn't a problem to worry about now.

Takumi enters his room and sees the intruder rising up from their fall. They look around their surroundings like they are a cornered mouse. They begin circling in the room caution of the other's movements. Takumi grabs a black backpack the moment it was in reach and starts feeling the contents in it. The intruder now even more alert tenses and they both stop.
Takumi guard both window and door since he was nearer to them.

Suddenly the intruder makes a bolt for the door with human speed and Takumi reacts and pulls out his item. However Takumi didn't immediately point it at the direction of the door instead, at the window. Predicting that the intruder will feint for the door and use his inhuman speed for the window. Just as predicted his sights meet the vampire crashing into the glass. Takumi fires his gun at the intruder who flinches. There is no expected bang or gunpowder from the gun and the vampire leaves uninjured as he shoots off into the distance.

A satisfy smile crosses Takumi's lips as he looks at his gun. Quickly he turns and goes through his belongings to find a small device similar to a electronic dictionary. He powers it on and the screen comes to life and in it an icon is moving rapidly on a map. Takumi whispers, "Wasn't sure it was going to work."

Takumi hears the loud sounds of footsteps traveling up the stairs. Calmly he powers off the device and tucks the gun and it in his backpack. He throws his bag to a corner of his room and waits. Kamui runs into view and stops at the entrance of the room she shouts, "Takumi! Are you okay?!"

Then on cue the sounds of sirens blare and make both Takumi and Kamui run down to the entrance of the house. A police car is parked in front of the house and two people comes out, one of them very familiar to Takumi. It was Hinoka.

Her fiery red hair is short and spunk out in many places. The blue uniform on her is crisp and clean with her body perfectly toned and hidden underneath it. But the biggest eye catcher was her face that practically frown. Those cherrywood eyes of her's narrows at the damage. A man with even more unruly brown hair walks up to her and says, "Hinoka calm down before you pop a vein."

He wears the same uniform as Hinoka and seems dead on with keeping his eyes closed shut. Then he quickly leaves her behind to speak with Mikoto who is fixing her clothing and black hair into place. Takumi chooses to stay silent as he watch his family speak with the officers until the man walk to him. He holds a notebook and introduces himself by the name Azama. Takumi tells Azama only what he can which was entirely most of the truth.

Hinoka apologizes that they couldn't come earlier and declares she'll catch the criminal. However Azama roughly pats her back and breaks her words with something about duty and rules. Then with a miserable look Hinoka bows deeply and drives away after looking at the damage caused by the intruder.

Takumi calmly observes the damages as well. He overhears Mikoto speaking with Ryoma over the phone. Her gentle voice completely unaffected by the earlier incident as she explains the situation. He couldn't hear what Ryoma was saying but he carries on with listing any sign of destruction to the house. He sighs at the fact that his room contains the most damage. His door and window is broken while downstairs the only destroyed item was a vase in the hallway. Everything else was knocked down or misplaced.

Takumi returns to Kamui and Sakura who are cleaning up the shattered vase. He asks them, "Is there any tarp and duct tape I can use?"

As if on cue Mikoto peeks out from the living room with a large roll of gray tape. She gives Takumi a small reassuring smile and says while offering the roll, "There should be one in the attic. If I remember correctly it should be covering something."

Takumi didn't return her smile and takes the roll from her. He nods at her words and turns to ascend up the stairs again. It was at the end of the hallway where the trap door in the ceiling was. Takumi had to jump high to grab the short rope attached to the door and uses his weight to pull it down. The trap door swings open and Takumi steps aside to avoid the extending ladder.

Visible dust can be seen falling from the ceiling and Takumi covers his nose to prevent himself from inhaling the dust. Testing the ladder before climbing up he enters the attic. It was dark and a slight smell of mold reaches Takumi's nose. He needs a light before he dares to venture forwards. As if his thoughts could be heard Mikoto calls out from below, "Takumi? I have a lantern right here."

Takumi climbs back down the steps to meet Mikoto. He notices now how she is a head shorter than he is. How soft her light brown eyes are when she looks at him and how her fair skin is contrasted against her dark ebony hair. She hadn't changed that much in six years aside the few wrinkles that no one will really notice. Mikoto notice the pause in Takumi's actions and asks, "Takumi?"

The sound of her voice makes him jump and he quickly says, "Sorry, here, give it to me."

Takumi gingerly extends his hand to reach the already lit lantern from Mikoto. She gives him a soft smile and passes the lantern to him. With a firm grip on the handle of the lantern Takumi again enters the attic leaving Mikoto below without a word.

Using the lantern to guide him he looks for the supposed tarp. With his height he is able to stand in the attic if he walks where the highest ceiling levels were. In his search he sees several cases belonging to a mix of musical instruments and equipment meant for sports, both gear and weapons. Takumi passes these and keeps his eyes peel for the tarp. Once he catch sight of it he hurriedly walks to it, keeping mind about where he place his steps.

A layer of dust had collected on the tarp to protect what's underneath it. Takumi didn't like the suspicious feeling he feels crawling under his skin. So he uses his hand that holds the lantern to cover his nose. Then he grabs the tarp and swiftly pulls it off to shake any of the dust off. He stares as he can literally see a cloud of dust puff up. However that wasn't what caught his eye, it was what the dust falls on.

Without thinking he lets out a loud yelp and takes a step back. Takumi bumps into something tall and it falls, clattering loudly, this helps bring his senses back. He look at what he had bumped into and see it was an old lamp. Then he takes a deep breath despite the smell and turns to look at why he scream. A pair of sewn rag dolls sit on a red bench. Their big button eyes lifelessly stares forwards as their small hands cutely touch the other. The clothing they wore look worn and old as the girl wore western style frilly clothing while the boy wore eastern style royal clothing. How foolish Takumi thinks at the mere thought of thinking those were ghosts.

Slowly he walks towards them before gently picking both of them up. Takumi remember these dolls and laughs at the memory of when he found out they both were suppose to be boys. Then he remembers who left them here and the promise of picking them up again. He smiles at the fact that this promise can still be kept.

"Takumi? Are you okay up there?" Mikoto's worry voice can be heard from below. Takumi quickly place the dolls on the bench and finds another one that had fallen down. Perhaps due to him pulling the tarp down but without carefully observing its features he sets the boy doll with the other two. Making sure they all are holding hands, he swiftly turns, sets the lamp back up and leaves the attic with tarp in hand.

As he descends the ladder he sees the lines of worry on Mikoto's face. When he reach solid flooring he apologizes, "Sorry I bumped into a lamp."

"Did it break?" Her eyes follow along the ladder to the entrance of the attic. Takumi shakes his head and hands Mikoto what he is carrying. He lifts the ladder and pushes it upwards and as the mechanism was made to do, the trap door follow through and closes. Double checking that the door won't open by mistake he grabs the tarp from Mikoto so she doesn't have to lug it around.

Takumi walks to his room and grimace at his broken door. Since his lock broke he'll have to go out and buy a new one but for now he can only hope nothing he hid will be found. Though he counts his blessings in that his door wasn't completely broken. Moving pass his door he sees Kamui and Sakura already finishing up. They were gathering the few shards of glass that fell inside the room.

With effort everyone manage to tape the tarp over the window then after checking for any more glass shards on the ground everyone shuffles out of the room. Mikoto goes to prepare dinner and Sakura tags along. Kamui decides to stay in her room and starts calling people up. Takumi seeing that everyone is occupy goes outside with some gloves on and a large paper bag. He goes straight to where his window would be outside and starts picking up any shards that he can find on the ground. Thankfully most of them fell in large pieces and by the time Sakura calls him in for dinner he finished.

Taking care to not let the glass sit in a dangerous way he leaves it at the entrance for recycling. Takumi then joins the table after washing his hands. After an animated dinner where Kamui told Mikoto about what happened in the Kyudo club with Takumi it ended. Takumi charge with cleaning up today sets the dirty dishes in the sink. Mikoto is shuffling around and putting the food away and Takumi offers, "Mikoto you should go sit down. It's my turn to clean up."

Mikoto frowns at him and his heart race at the idea of her frowning. Unsure on why he asks, "Is something the matter?"

"No... It's just," She begins speaking but halts to stop herself before continuing with something entirely different, "How's your hand? You shouldn't strain it."

Takumi looks at his injured palm and assures her, "It's nothing big, just a little scratch."

Mikoto lets an 'oh' before the silence returns to them. The sound of water and dishes clinking with each other fills the emptiness and this bother Takumi. No it wasn't the silence that bothered him it was something else. Something he wants to know but never had to chance to ask since he was never alone with her. Before he knows it he asks, "How did you know it was me?"

"What?" Mikoto asks back. She heard him the first time but she wanted to reaffirm his question. Takumi sighs and shuts off the sink but doesn't turn to face her.

He asks again, rephrasing his words, "When we first met in six years and today, how did you know for sure that I was Takumi?"

A sweet, short laugh erupts from behind him, making Takumi take a glance at Mikoto. The sweetest smile plays on her lips as her eyes display more warmth he has ever seen. She then answers, "I'll always recognize my children. Even a six year difference doesn't change anything, even though their voice changed, even if their appearance change, I'll always know it's them. Just like how I instantly knew that Takumi was my Takumi."

Those words were too sweet, too surreal that Takumi had trouble believing that but he willed himself to. That wasn't how Takumi operated and he knows it so he presses on, "How would you know that?"

"Mother's instinct," her immediate answer make it sound so true that Takumi had no choice but to believe it. His nature wanted to ponder about it but his instinct told him to accept it so, he returns to the dishes. In the midst of this chore he says to the lingering Mikoto, "Thanks mom."

After everything is complete Takumi retires to his room and set a duffel bag in front of the door to prevent it from opening. Then he lay out his futon before changing to his nightwear clothing. Clicking the lights off Takumi takes the black backpack and searches for that small device again. When it power on the light is bright and lightly illuminates the room. On its screen Takumi observes the location of the icon and investigates the location. Finding that it is a residential place and the profile of the man who owns it, finally Takumi turns in for the night.
