Chapter 23

Enjoy :)

Rainbow could hardly comprehend what was going on if she hadn't known already. People were rushing around the palace, putting up decorations, tables were set. People were getting dressed. Windows were cleaned spotless, allowing pure sunlight to illuminate the castle.

She and Applejack were being pulled from every direction.

It made Rainbow's head spin. Choices, people to talk to. Things to finalize. It was crazy ode first few morning hours. Then finally came the time to get dressed.

It was a one hour process. Rainbow was bathed and cleaned from head to toe. Her maids covered her in sweet smelling oils and washed her hair till her scalp hurt. They dried her and made sure she shaved any body hair that could be visible at any moment during the ceremony. Rainbow was lathered in lotion until she could hardly press her fingers together without them slipping. She smelled like vanilla and coconut. The smell was so strong it nearly nauseated Rainbow.

Rainbow brushed her teeth while the women dried her hair. Her mouth, hair, and body never looked and felt so clean. Her teeth were the whitest they'd ever been.

Rainbow was then ushered into her dressing room by her personal dress maids. Then things took a delicate turn. Her maids helped her slip on her dress, carefully looking over every detail.

Rainbow Dash looked at her reflection in the body mirror in front of her. Funny how she always wore them but didn't like really them. She didn't mind wearing a dress for today's occasion.

The white dress she wore now was different. It was long and had a short train. The dress hugged her around the waist snugly. The long sleeves of the dress were silky and slim and the skirt had a few layers to it, flowing gracefully to the floor.

Her hair was thoroughly brushed back and held in place with a golden feather hair accessory. Her long multicolored locks cascaded down her right shoulder.

Rainbow stood there for what seemed like hours, the women helping her out on her heels. Rainbow shifting around in them, fidgeting, an uncomfortable look on her face. These shoes obviously were obviously not her normal choice of shoes.

"Don't worry, princess." She was told,
"You'll only be wearing them for about an hour."

Rainbow made an displeased sound. The women laughed a little, shaking their heads.

One of the maids came up to Rainbow. She held up a golden crown. Attached to it was the veil.

"Here, your highness."

Rainbow nodded her head and let the woman place it on her head, adjusting it ever so slightly to make sure it was centered. Rainbow looked at herself in the mirror and couldn't help but let a small smile creep onto her face. Today she felt more beautiful than ever before. Like she was in a fantastic dream, and she did not want to wake up, yet uncertain if she wanted it to continue in fear of having a panic attack.

Once the crown was on her head, the maids adjusted her clothes and everything, fussing over every little detail.

Rainbow had a hard time staying still.

She was constantly shuffling her feet, switching her weight from leg to leg. Rainbow looked around the room as her patience and concentration slowly but surely slipped away. They honestly couldn't expect her to stay still this long.

The maids noticed her behavior and picked up the pace. One of them got some homemade make up and applied just a little bit of it to Rainbow's cyan skin.

"Not too much longer, your highness," one of the women told her.

Rainbow was showered with fragrance perfumes. Rainbow breathed in through her nose. The scent stung her nose. Rainbow's head jerked at the sudden sensation and the feeling of perfume in her nose.

The maids stood and backed up. They smiled, looking the princess up and down.

"All done." One of them announced.

Rainbow looked over at her reflection. She jumped in fright. She took a step back, her eyes went wide.

"Is that me??" She asked, looking at herself.

"Yes," one maid replied. "Do you like it??"

Rainbow laughed a little, looking at the women.

"I love it. Thank you all so much."

Rainbow couldn't look away. Was that really her in the mirror?? She almost couldn't recognize herself in her wedding dress and crown. A small smile crept onto her face. Man. She looked awesome.

"Rainbow??"

Rainbow turned at the familiar voice. She smiled brightly as she saw her mom standing there. Her mom gasped, her hands covering her gaping mouth. She slowly approached Rainbow Dash, her eyes down at the dress then going back to Rainbow's face. When Eden reached Rainbow she reached out her hands. Rainbow held both her hands.

"Oh my gods. You look so beautiful, hunny." Her mom said "Just beautiful."

Rainbow turned her head, trying to hide her blushing face.

"Thanks, Mama."

"Are you ready??" Eden asked. "It's almost time for the ceremony."

Rainbow bit her bottom lip. She suddenly had butterflies in her stomach. Her hands her hands to her stomach. She tried to calm them by breathing in and out slowly. She fiddled with the engagement ring on her finger.

"Mom??."

Eden noticed her daughter's behavior.

"Yes?. What's wrong??."

Rainbow avoided eye contact with her mom.

"I-I just um....... I'm scared."

Eden smiled. "Then aren't you glad you have your mother to talk to about that right now??"

Rainbow looked up at Eden.

"What if something goes wrong??."

"Then we'll deal with it," Eden replied with a one shouldered shrug.

"What if I freeze??. Cuz I'm getting very nervous. What if my brain stops working and I'm standing there like an idiot??."

Eden gently tugged Rainbow Dash by her hand.

"We'll talk about it on the way there. Cmon."

Rainbow nodded. She lifted the skirt of the dress up a little and stepped down off the platform.

She looked at her maids, smiling.

"You guys are the best."

"No problem, your highness." The head maid said, with a hand gentle, as if their handiwork on the beautiful dress Rainbow was wearing was no big deal.

"And don't worry, Rainbow. You'll be just fine. Applejack will be there to save you if you go brain dead in the middle of the ceremony."

The woman smiled kindly.

"But we all believe in you. You can do this. You've battled Thunderstorm so you can walk down that aisle with your father and talk to Applejack. Just focus on Applejack."

Rainbow felt her courage returning to her. She breathed in, standing up straight. She released and nodded.

"I needed that."

She looked at Eden.

"Let's go. I need another pep talk from you in the way there."

Eden laughed as Rainbow dragged her out of the room. The maids giggled as the their soon to be queen and her mother walked out.

The head maid chuckled, going to quickly clean up the mess they made so they could down to see the wedding ceremony.

"That girl is something else."

So yup. Comment your thoughts and or whatever you thought of this :)
