The journey home was fairly quiet and exhausting. The fairies that had been captured talked quietly among themselves.

Rainbow was carried by Applejack. The princess tried to decline, claiming not wanting to seem weak or incapable of such a simple task. Applejack would hear none of it and carried on.

They got to the castle by the next morning after taking shelter for the night in the cave they shared with the bears. The fairies were worn out and exhausted.

As soon as they got back to the castle, things immediately began to change. Turns out that the ones that had taken over the castle had so been under mind control. They asked the king and queen what was going on.

The two gathered up everyone outside the castle. They explained what had happened. The crowd was shocked. They had no idea.

"I know this may seem like a lot to take in", king Lightning said to the crowd of fairies. "But don't fear. It's over now and we will send you all back to your families and homes in a few moments".

The man stopped and gave a hard cough into the crook of his elbow. Rainbow watched her father with concern.

"Dad", she said.

The king pulled his elbow away and looked at her.

"It's okay, Rainbow", he said. "I'm fine".

"No you're not", Rainbow said, shaking her head, walking towards her dad.

She walked up to him and stood at his side. She spoke in a low voice so others couldn't hear her.

"You and Mom are really sick. You need to get some rest and get checked on".

The man looked at her for a moment. He then smiled softly.

"We will".

"Your Majesty".

The two turned around. Lord Flight stood there with a few guards.

Rainbow smiled.

"Lord Flight. I'm so glad to see you".

The man looked at her.

"Are you alright, princess??", he asked. "I'm glad you're back".

"Me too", Rainbow said. "And yes, I'm alright. Just a bit dazed and still trying to remember what happened the day I disappeared".

Rainbow felt an arm wrap around her waist. She turned her head and saw Applejack standing there. The looked at her.

"Don't worry about it right now", she said. "Right now you just need rest and we need ta get chur parents looked at my the doctor".

"We can send the people home", Flight offered. "You go rest, your highnesses".

"Are you sure??", King Lightning asked.

"Yes, your Majesty", Lord flight replied.

The king looked over at his wife. His face changed to concern. Rainbow noticed. She looked in the direction her dad was looking. She saw her mom sitting on the staircase. She looked ready to pass out any moment.

Rainbow looked at her father who flew over to the queen. Rainbow watched them. Her father was kneeling down in front of Queen Eden, talking to her. Her mother held a hand to her head, obviously not in a good state.

Rainbow felt fear creep up on her. Would they be okay?? What if they didn't recover?? How sick were they?? Was there even a cure for whatever it is??

"Rainbow".

Rainbow's eyes began to wander. If her parents died, she'd be all alone. She wouldn't have anyone to help her in life. She'd have to do everything alone and without guidance.

Rainbow felt an ache form in her head and the need to throw up appeared. Rainbow's breathing quickened, trying to keep down any food she had in the last twenty-four hours.

She felt as though her throat was being pressed on, choking her. Rainbow touched her throat, gasping for air. She started to panic, her eyes wide. Her eyes looked around wildly.

"Rainbow!".

Rainbow felt hands on her shoulders. She saw a body standing in front of her but she couldn't focus. She was freaking out.

Tears formed in Rainbow's eyes and fell immediately. Rainbow was terrified.

She looked up and saw Applejack standing there.

She sobbed. "I'm scared, Applejack. I'm scared".

Applejack looked around. She saw Twilight and Pinkie looking right at, a questioning look on their faces. Applejack motioned for them to come over.

Applejack looked back at Rainbow Dash. The girl was shaking, tears running down her face, her breathing out of control. She had to get her to a quiet place.

Applejack scooped her up carefully. She held her close as she turned and headed straight for the castle. The blonde hunter passed Rainbow's parents. The king and queen noticed her. They looked concerned.

Applejack looked at them.

"She's havin' a panic attack", she said, not stopping.

Applejack walked up the stairs to them front of the castle. The guards opened the door for her. One of the men asked Applejack a question but she just walked on.

The castle was quiet. The only sound was Applejack's footsteps. She walked down the hall, carrying a still panicking Rainbow.

"It's okay, Rainbow", she said quietly. "You're gonna be alright".

Applejack got to Rainbow's room. A guard that was stationed outside the door opened the door for her. Applejack went inside, the door closing behind her.

Applejack turned the lights on and put Rainbow down. The fairy was sobbing uncontrollably, her body shaking like a leaf. This wasn't a sight Applejack was use to.

"Rainbow. Breathe".

"I am!!", Rainbow shouted.

Applejack held her at arms length. She had to get Rainbow to calm down.

"Is there a cold room somewhere in the castle??", she asked.

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. The kitchen is cold and there's a big freezer room".

Applejack nodded.

"Applejack", a voice said.

Applejack turned her head to the door. She saw Twilght, Pinkie and Sugarbelle standing there, obviously concerned.

"We have ta get her to a cold room. She's havin' a panic episode".

Applejack scooped up Rainbow Dash. She turned and headed for the door.

"Cmon", she said as she walked past her friends and out the door. Twilight, Pinkie, and Sugarbelle followed them. The four hurried down the halls of the castle.

"Twi. Pinkie", Applejack said. Go help Rainbow's parents. See if you can do anythin' ta help. Sugarbelle. You come with us".

"We'll see you soon", Twilight said

She looked at Pinkie Pie.

"Let's go".

The two went another direction. Applejack and Sugarbelle continued to the kitchen. They got to the kitchen and walked in. There were fairies who were baking and cooking.

Rainbow was right. The kitchen was cold.

Applejack felt goosebumps rise on her skin. She put Rainbow Dash down. Applejack glanced up. She saw that everyone in the room had stopped and was looking at them.

"It's the princess", one baker said.

"Where's the freezer room??", Applejack asked, looking at Sugarbelle.

"Over here", Sugarbelle said, walking away.

Applejack took Rainbow's arm and they followed the fairy. They walked past the other fairies. Everyone was staring at them, more specifically, Rainbow Dash, relieved looks on their faces.

"Is that the real princess??", one person whispered.

"Is she back?".

"What's going on??".

Applejack led Rainbow through the room. Sugarbelle led them to a large metal door. She turned the handle and pulled it open. She looked back at Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash.

"Stand in here".

She gently led the shaking princess into the freezer room. Rainbow immediately stopped going hysterical. She stopped sobbing. She sniffled, her breathing still ragged.

Applejack held her by her shoulders.

"Ah'm right here, Rainbow", she said quietly. "Ah'm right here. You're alright. Just breathe".

Rainbow nodded, wiping her tears away.
Tears kept forming in her eyes and running down her face.

"M-M-My parents", she stammered. "Are they g-gonna die??".

Applejack thought for a moment. She didn't know. All she knew was that the king and queen were really sick.

"Ah don't know, Rainbow. But now that we're back, they can be treated".

Rainbow nodded. She sniffled. She sighed, looking around. She then looked up at Applejack.

"Thank you", she said. "I-I don't know what I'd do without you".

Applejack smiled. She pulled Rainbow in for a hug. She wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. Rainbow hugged back, a sense of safety and relief washing over her.

She felt her breathing going back to normal. Rainbow wiped her face, getting rid of the tears. She sighed and pulled away. Applejack looked at her. Rainbow looked at her.

"I think I'm good now".

"You sure??", Applejack asked.

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. I'm okay".

Rainbow exhaled shakily, her eyes wandering.

She rubbed her hands together, trying to calm herself. She felt the cold surrounding her all of the sudden. She wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing her skin.

"I'm cold".

Applejack smiled. "That means you're not panicking' anymore", she said. "Cmon".

They walked out of the freezer room. Everyone was staring at them still. Rainbow smiled, obviously embarrassed.

"Sorry you all had to see that", she said. "I'm okay now. Continue whatever you all were doing".

"You're highness", one of the fairies said.

She fluttered over to the girls. The woman had her hands clasped, a hopeful yet uncertain look on her face

"Is that really you??".

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah. It's the real me. Rainbow Dash. I'm back".

Everyone smiled, some deflated a bit in relief.

"Thank goodness", the woman fairy said, "welcome home, Princess Rainbow. We missed you".

Rainbow smiled. "Really??".

The woman nodded. "Oh yes. Everyone in the castle missed you. It wasn't the same without you and I mean it".

She smiled and looked at Applejack.

"And I heard that Applejack was being driven up the wall by the imposter. The fake you was getting on her last nerve".

Rainbow looked at Applejack.

"Did she??".

Applejack rolled her eyes.

"You betcha", she said. "Ah was about ta kill her for half the things she said. She was the complete opposite of you".

Rainbow looked around at everyone in surprise.

"Well", she said. "I'm glad to be back. I'm sure my parents, once they're better, they'll have an announcement to tell everyone in the castle I'm home and explain everything".

It was quiet for a few seconds. Applejack looked at Rainbow. The princess looked ready for a nap. She took her hand.

"Let's get you ta bed".

Rainbow nodded. Right on cue, a yawn escaped from her lips.

Applejack looked at Sugarbelle.

"Thanks. You should probably rest too".

Sugarbelle smiled. "Thank you, Applejack but I'm fine. I have something I wanna do anyway".

Applejack nodded. She looked at Rainbow.

"C'mon".

Applejack pulled the dress over Rainbow's head. She gently tugged it down, helping Rainbow put on her pajamas.

"Applejack", Rainbow said. "I can do it by myself".

"Ah'm not tak'n any chances", Applejack said. "Who knows if you're sleep deprived or somethin'".

She kissed Rainbow on the cheek.

"Now get some sleep".

Rainbow and Applejack walked over Rainbow's bed. Turning the lights down low, they got into bed. Laying down, Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist. Rainbow rested her head on Applejack's chest.

It was quiet for a moment.

"Hey Applejack??".

"Hey?", Applejack replied.

"Thank you for saving me again", Rainbow said. "I don't know what I'd do without you??. Did you miss me??".

"Course ah did".

Applejack frowned deeply. She looked down at Rainbow Dash.

"You think you can sleep??", she asked.

Rainbow nodded. "Yeah".

"Rainbow".

Rainbow lifted her head and looked at Applejack. Applejack smiled at her.

"Ah love you".

Rainbow smiled back. "I know you do. You came for me and even declared it in front of our friends and my family in order to save me. I love you too".

Applejack kissed her on the lips. Rainbow pressed her lips to Applejack's. She giggled and looked at her.

"I can't wait till this whole chaos is over".

Applejack wrapped an arm around her waist.

"How do you feel??".

Rainbow sighed and laid her head down.

"Tired".

Applejack lightly kissed the top of her head.

"Sleep, baby. Everythin' is gonna be ok".

The two girls closed their eyes and fell asleep, safe and sound in each other's arms.
