The king sighed.

"It seems like a long time ago. Baefore Rainbow was born".

-flashback-

It was a warm spring morning in Avalon. The sun shining, blue skies. The fairies busy yet enjoying their day, as always.

The king and queen were in the court house with the some of the peasants of the kingdom. They were having a trial.

King Lightning stood before a family of three. A man, a woman, a young girl. All three fairies were standing the middle of the stone open aired, room, tied up. The winged king, stood before them, a stone cold face, standing tall, a mighty and power and an authoritative aura surrounded his majesty, his wings up and spread.

"You attempted to assassinate me and my family. Treason. What do you have to say to that??".

The two adult fairies looked up at the king. The male fairy sneered.

"You don't deserve to rule Avalon", he said.

"So you decided to get rid of us??", Queen Eden asked, getting up from her seat.

She walked up beside her husband, looking down on the fairies.

"We never did anything wrong to you", she said. "So why??".

The woman gave a dark chuckle. She shook her head, looking at the royals with a look in her eyes.

"Someone had to".

The king looked around at the other fairies attending the trial.

"These fairies are a danger to Avalon. I sentence them to death".

The king suddenly felt a hand on his arm. Turning his head, he saw Eden looking at him.

"Please", she whispered, quiet enough that only he could hear.

"Spare the child. She's innocent and had no part in this".

King Lightning turned his head and looked at the little fairy child that was standing before her mother. The girl had raven black and neon green colored hair, mint green skin. She was merely six years old. She was trully innocent.

The king felt something within him go soft for the child. The poor girl was going to be an orphan soon. At least she'd be free from her crazed parents.
The king gave a nod.

"As you wish, my love", he whispered.

Clearing his throat, he said aloud, "The child is to be spared and will live in the orphanage but Windblade and Nightlight is to be put to death at dawn tomorrow".

King Lightning glanced over at a gaurds. He motioned for them to come.

"Take them away".

Guards took the adults away. A maid came to collect the little girl.

As the woman picked up the young fairy, the little girl turned and looked at the king and queen.

"The princess will pay for this".

The king and queen looked at eachother confused. They watched the maid fly away with the child, in her arms towards the town. Queen Eden looked at King Lightning.

King Lightning's regained his composure and dismissed the crowd of fairies. After they all left, King Lightning began to pace.

Queen Eden watched him, fluttering inches off the ground. The queen bit her lip.

"I know this is probably a bad time", she said suddenly.

"But I feel like I have to tell you this now".

The king turned and looked at her.

"Yes Eden??", he said. "What's wrong??".

He flew towards Eden, taking her in his arms. Eden looked at their joined hands then up at him. She smiled.

"I'm pregnant".

-end of flashback-

King Lightning sighed.

"And nine months later, Rainbow was born".

Applejack sat there, processing the information, slowly putting the pieces together.

"So............ why is you tellin us about Rainbow's birth important??".

"I think I get it", Twilight said, sitting up a little straighter.

"You had her parents killed. So now she's taking revenge for that and she also believes you don't deserve the throne. Just like her parents believed".

Queen Eden looked at King Lightning.

"We did this", she said. "We put Rainbow in danger".

The king looked at her. Shaking his head he said,

"No my love. It wasn't our fault".

"He's right your majesty", Flash said. "Noone could've known this would happen. The girl was young. She didn't see or the execution so there's no trauma. Although just the thought of her parents being killed might have triggered the rage and revange seeking".

"But why Rainbow??", Pinkie asked.

"She wasn't even born yet", Applejack added. "So why her??".

The king sighed. "I took people she loved away, so she took someone we love away. To get even I'm guessing".

Applejack looked at her friends.

"Revenge".

The group sat in silence.

"So", Pinkie said. "What now??".

Applejack looked around at the fairies and her friends.

"Well, orphan ir not. She kidnapped Rainbow an has taken over the kingdom. She needs ta be stopped".

Applejack looked at Flash.

"Flash. Take us to the others. Rainbow might be somewhere in the castle over there. Where's the castle??".

Flash sighed.

"It's in the Forbidden Forrest".

Applejack sighed, the others groaning and sighing as well.

"Of coarse" she muttered. "It's always that stupid forrest".

She never thought she'd have to go back there again. But looks like they have no choice.

So yeah. So sorry for the long wait. Writers block is a pain in my side. So tell me what you honestly think of this :)
