38. SEAL THE DEAL
Is it possible that suddenly you run out of air even if you are outside? Can you suffocate when you are physically fine, but you have the feeling that someone has pumped out all the oxygen? When do you think some force is pressing on your chest, not letting your lungs expand in a natural reflex?
That's how Jungkook felt now.
He clung tightly to V's black leather jacket. The same one that the vampire was wearing when they made love in their bedroom last night. He could feel the texture under his fingers, the coldness of the material caused by the rather low morning temperature, hard studs, digging into his chest, when he was clinging strongly to the vampire's back. The wind hit his helmet, whistling loudly, but the only thing he could still hear was the sound of Namjoon's words that kept rolling through his head like a broken record.
When he woke up in the arms of his beloved in the morning, he felt happy. It seemed to him that nothing could destroy this happiness. It felt like a fairy tale. They shared a small world together that nothing and no one could destroy. It soon turned out, however, that his happiness was fleeting, like a soap bubble that someone brutally pierced without thinking about the consequences.
When Namjoon called him, he was still huddled in V's naked, hot body. He was planning to go to the workshop today, but as usual, he would probably get there until about ten, but a phone call from the policeman thwarted his plans.
Their conversation was short. Namjoon was an educated and very intelligent man. He spoke beautifully and wisely, but he usually weighed words. This time it was the same. At the thought of what the man had told him, he felt chills all over his body and a strong tightness in his chest again. His throat tightened so much that he ran out of oxygen again and he felt dizzy. Reflexively, he tightened his hands on the black fabric, as if fearing that if he did not, he would fall. His heart galloped in his chest, banging on his ribs like a tethered bird.
"Jungkook, something bad happened in the workshop. You have to come here quickly..."
These were the words that once spoken, almost etched into his memory. He had repeated it a million times in his head, still hearing the worry in the way Namjoon had pronounced it. The policeman spoke calmly, in a warm, controlled voice, which reminded him of the way doctors convey information about the death of a loved one. Already after the first few words, Jungkook knew that something really bad had to happen. The elder, however, refused to explain over the phone, saying that this is a matter they need to talk in person.
It wasn't even twenty minutes, and he and V were ready to go. The vampire, seeing his shaking, sat down at the helm of the motorcycle, letting Jungkook wrap his hands around his narrow waist. And he loved him for doing it so much. Every time he felt he was losing ground under his feet, V was with him to catch him. He didn't have to say anything, it was enough for their eyes to cross for a few seconds, for the elder to know what to do.
And he did it every time.
When the signboard with the name Jeon appeared on the horizon, the brunet tensed even more. V wanted to grab his hand, but at such a high speed, he couldn't afford to take his hands off the handle. He didn't care about himself. Even if he crashed, he wouldn't hurt himself, but Jungkook... He couldn't let anything happen to him. Feeling the growing powerlessness in him, he tightened his hands on the handles, while pushing the gas harder. The motorcycle gave a characteristic deep whir. It would have been music to his ears, if it hadn't been for the fact that the road was not pleasant at all and he wanted it to end as soon as possible.
It took them literally a few minutes to reach their destination. The signboard was already well visible, but what caught V's attention was the fact that the red and blue lights of the police car were reflecting off the sign. Instinctively, he swallowed, thanking himself that at least Jungkook could not hear his heart beating, which would probably tremble with nervousness. He didn't want to stress him anymore, he knew that the raven haired boy was already a bundle of nerves. He could see it in his movements and gestures when, after Namjoon's phone call, he put on his gray sweat pants in haste and heard it now, in the nervous and chaotic beat of his heart.
When V turned into the driveway, two police cars appeared. Several uniformed people were hanging around. The vampire parked the motorcycle in front of the workshop and quickly removed his helmet. He was wearing a black bandana that held his blond hair, but despite that, when he pulled off his helmet, a few unruly strands of hair fell on his eyes. V moved his gaze toward the workshop entrance and strained his hearing. He heard the noise of conversations of policemen who were inspecting, but did not pick up anything significant. The only thing that definitely worried him was that the entrance was covered with yellow police tape. Well he knew what that meant. Jungkook certainly noticed this too, because his pulse accelerated even more, his breath was shallow, which betrayed his nervousness. Brunet quickly got off the motorcycle, slipped his helmet into the hands of V and started running towards the workshop.
He ran quickly, feeling his throat tighten so much that he was almost unable to draw enough oxygen into his lungs. He heard V behind him, calling his name in his wonderful deep voice, which now seemed to reach him as if from the depths of the ocean. Everything was spinning, he could hear his own breath, bouncing deafeningly in his ears. It seemed as if everything was moving in slow motion. He was almost at the main entrance, when suddenly a strong jerk stopped him.
- What the hell are you doing?! - the man growled, grasping his arm strongly and pulling him back. - You can't go in there! This is a crime scene! - he shouted, struggling with Jungkook, who was still trying to get inside.
- Let me go, please! I have to go in there. I am the owner... I have to... - repeated the boy, trying to break free from the grip of a policeman. Seeing their struggle, a second policeman jumped over to them in a few seconds and he also began to pull at him.
- Enough of this! Let him go! - a familiar voice suddenly demanded.
- But boss, he... - one of the men began to protest. His hands still clutched around Jungkook's shoulder.
- I said, let him go! - repeated the voice. - I know this man. I'll take care of him.
- Get your hands off my boyfriend and get out of here before I force you to do it! - V growled suddenly, rising between the policeman and Jungkook.
The man laughed at V's words and opened his mouth to say something, but before he could do it, he felt a strong hand on his shoulder.
- Yung, I said, let him go! - his superior commanded firmly.
The policeman obediently took his hand and pointed to his colleague to do the same. He bent in a gesture of respect for his superior and they both walked away. Brunet turned back and looked at the man standing behind him. As expected, Namjoon appeared. The detective looked great as always. His suit was fitted and embraced his figure, as if it were sewn specially for him. Silver hair fell over his eyes, carefully examining the younger's face.
- Jungkook, V, I'm glad you're here - he said, bowing gently.
- Namjoon, where is she? Where's Suran? - Jungkook asked suddenly, not caring at all. He was so nervous that he had no head for greetings or kindness. He would gladly just throw himself and check all the angles of the workshop himself. It is nothing that he would probably get hit for it. He couldn't stand this uncertainty. - Why are there so many police and this yellow tapes here? - he kept asking. The contents of his stomach were up his throat, he felt weak.
Namjoon was silent for a moment, as if wondering what and how to say. Brunet knew that the policeman always chose his words carefully, but at the moment he hated it. He just needed to know what happened here. Without waiting for the policeman's reply, he simply walked quickly toward the entrance. He tore open the yellow tape and ran into the workshop.
- Jungk...! - Namjoon began, but V stopped him by placing his hand on his chest.
- Let him. I'll take care of your crew - the vampire said quickly, then followed the young man himself, and Namjoon nodded slightly and did the same.
When Jungkook ran into the workshop, his heart galloped so hard that he felt like it was about to jump out of his chest. His breathing was fast and, as if he had been running for at least a dozen or so minutes. He looked around. It was dusk inside, a police team was spinning around. He looked towards the entrance to Suran's office and saw that the whole office was also marked with a yellow tape, at this sight the brunet almost returned all the contents of his stomach. On the ground at the entrance he saw traces of blood...
- Sh-Suran! - he called out, though his voice sounded like it was reaching him from afar.
It seemed to him that everything was spinning around, he heard his own breath in his ears, so loud that it seemed to him that in a moment it would tear his eardrums. He couldn't breathe. It was darkening before his eyes and he almost fell to the ground when suddenly strong arms stopped him. The same arms that hugged him at night.
Warm, caring and fragrant like HIM.
V grabbed him firmly and pulled him to his chest, locking him in a secure grip of his arms. He buried his head in the hollow of his neck and kissed his milky skin gently.
- Breathe, Doll. Please, just breathe... - he whispered softly, gently stroking his strong back.
The younger buried his face in the hollow of his neck, breathing in the scent of his skin and perfume, which he loved so much. He focused on his smell, his tender voice, the warmth of his body and in a moment he felt his pursed throat relax slightly, letting him breathe again. It was only after a few deep breaths that he lifted his head and looked V straight in the eye. His irises were beautiful, calm and blue like the Ionian Sea, but he saw in them concern and worry. Jungkook looked over his shoulder and saw Namjoon watching the whole scene closely. Beautiful and almost imperturbable as a statue, only his lips tightened in a narrow line betrayed that he too was experiencing what was happening here. His body now seemed more tense than when he first saw him. Brunet moved slightly away from V and looked him straight in the eye. The policeman's eyes were dark amber.
- Namjoon, please tell me where is Suran? - he finally choked out.
- At the back of the building - said the policeman.
V took his hands from his boyfriend's body and stepped away from him, giving him the opportunity to leave. Jungkook turned on his heel and moved quickly to the rear exit of the workshop. As he ran ahead, he knew V was also following him, but he didn't turn back. He ran outside the building and looked around. Several uniformed people were also hanging around here. He felt his breathing become shallow again.
He looked around nervously for a moment, when he saw a policewoman with long, almost black hair tied up in a ponytail. Her skin was swarthy, and when he looked at her, he saw clear Latin features. At first he didn't even know why she caught his attention, only later did he see in her hands a red mug with steaming liquid. He followed her closely, and finally saw that the woman was bending down and reaching out to give someone a hot drink.
Suran.
At the sight of the girl, a dark groan escaped from his lips. Without thinking for a long time, he rushed towards them and grabbed the surprised girl in his arms, kneeling on the ground to descend to her level.
- Gee! - she called surprised, but she also surrounded her friend with her arms.
- I was so scared that something had happened to you! - he whispered, then pulled away gently and grabbed the girl by her shoulders, watching her closely.
Suran was sitting on the wall, wrapped in a blanket. She looked tired, had red, swollen eyes, a slightly red nose, as if she were just crying, but otherwise she seemed fine. It took him a moment to see bloodstains on her clothes, and at the sight he immediately tensed.
- Sh-Suran... - he groaned at the trace of red goo.
- Th-that's not my blood... - she said quickly.
The policewoman handed her a cup of hot tea, and the girl took it and thanked her quietly. Jungkook saw her hands tremble. Whatever happened here must have scared her badly. The woman gave her a warm smile and walked away, leaving them alone. After a while, however, V and Namjoon joined them.
- Suran, what happened here? - Jungkook asked, looking at the girl's face.
- I came today as always before nine, but when I wanted to open the workshop, I saw that the door was already open. I was afraid that maybe someone had broken in, so I went inside carefully and noticed that a man was sitting in my office. I called him, but he did not react, so... - she broke off and brushed her hair nervously behind her ear. - When I got inside, it seemed to me that something was wrong with him, and when I approached him...
The girl's voice began to tremble clearly, as did her lower lip. Suran raised her cup with two hands and took a few sips of hot tea, then looked at the brunet.
- He... He was dead and he was holding... Jesus he was h-holding... - she moaned and instinctively covered her mouth with her hand, sobbing softly.
Jungkook noticed that her whole body was beginning to tremble, and tears were flowing from the corners of her eyes. He didn't know what to do, but before he could make any decisions, V approached them and lowered himself to their level. The blond man looked at Suran with his calm blue eyes whose pupils began to widen slowly.
- Hey, beautiful. Please, look at me - he commanded in a calm voice, and the girl obeyed him without hesitation. The color of his voice was low, deep and warm. It was enough that a few words came out of his lips, and Jungkook also felt calmer, even though V's powers did not work on him. - Breathe. You are safe with us. Nothing will happen to you, understand? - The girl nodded, staring into the vampire's eyes as if hypnotized. - What did you do yesterday when we left? - he asked suddenly.
Jungkook was somewhat surprised by his question. He didn't know how it was related to what happened here today. He would gladly ask her a million questions at once, but he passed it on V. He trusted him. He knew the vampire knew what he was doing.
- I-I was looking through documents, I had a lot of paperwork, orders, deliveries... A-and then... Then... - Suran frowned as if she had difficulty recalling what had happened last night.
She looked at V a bit confused.
- Suran, how did you get home? - Blond asked, looking closely at her.
- I-I... I... I don't remember. I always come back by bus. Yes... By bus... - she continued, though her words betrayed uncertainty.
V suddenly reached out his hand and stroked her long hair, then moved it to the girl's cheek and directed her head gently towards him so that Suran looked him straight in the eye.
- Listen, Suran. Nothing bad happened here. You came to work in the morning and saw that someone had broken in. You got a little scared, but it wasn't anything serious. Jungkook took care of everything and gave you a day off. The nice policewoman who gave you tea will take you home, okay? - he asked.
Namjoon and Jungkook wanted to protest. They did not understand why the vampire erased the girl's memory, since she was the only witness to what had happened here, but before they could say anything, it was all over. V stood up and led Suran behind him. He approached the policewoman and exchanged a few words with her, who nodded obediently, then led Suran to her police car.
- Why did you do that? She could... - Namjoon began when V approached them again.
- She knows nothing - V said, interrupting him. - Someone messed with her memory... It's definitely the vampire's doing - he explained, and Jungkook was clearly tense at his words.
He rose from the ground and looked at V. His perfect lips were set in a narrow line, there was anxiety in his eyes. The vampire ran a hand through his soft blond hair and licked his lips slightly.
- Namjoon, can I see the victim? - he asked suddenly.
The policeman nodded and indicated that they would follow in his footsteps. V almost instinctively grabbed Jungkook's hand, entwining his long, slim fingers with his. Brunet allowed him to lead without a word of opposition. It was only when they approached Suran's office that his breathing was shallow again. The entrance was sealed with tape, traces of smudged blood could be seen under the door, as if someone were spreading it on their shoes. Jungkook guessed that these are probably the marks left by Suran.
- We checked this man's prints, but there is nothing on him. Establishing his identity will take some time. It seems that nothing is missing form the office, my people suggest that it may be some sort of gang or mafia related hit... We're trying to figure it out... - Namjoon began to say.
When they reached the entrance, the policeman lifted the tape and indicated V to go inside. All three entered the room. V's nostrils were immediately attacked by the smell of already dried blood. Judging by its bland smell, he was sure that the victim's wounds had been done at least a few, maybe even several hours ago. The vampire looked around and saw that in the seat where Suran usually sat, there was a man's body.
- I told the coroner and my people not to touch anything, I wanted you to look at it, but then I will need your abilities... - He explained.
- No problem, I'll take care of everything - V replied, and moved cautiously forward, approaching the desk to get a better look at the man. - What was the cause of death? - he asked, putting his feet carefully to avoid any blood smudged on the floor.
- Preliminary findings indicate that it was strangulation. The remaining injuries were done post mortem. The way he was treated indicates something personal, maybe some mafia related hit. They like such spectacular crimes. We are trying to determine if the man had any connections with the criminal world...
Jungkook felt the wave of nausea again when the metallic smell of blood was almost unbearable. He pressed his lips together tightly to breathe in as little as possible. He was convinced that for V this scent was even more difficult to disregard, but nevertheless the vampire took a few more steps to finally face the victim.
The man was young, his dark hair was still combed back, creating an impeccable little pony, his face contorted in pain, as if his recent experiences were already permanently enshrined in a posthumous grimace. There was a blue mark on his neck. It was evident that someone had to choke him hard, probably to the extent that his trachea was simply crushed.
He was seated in Suran's chair, but V was convinced he wasn't killed here. Probably his body was moved here. He was wearing a bright T-shirt, which on the left side of his chest was stained with dried blood, the same that flowed down in red streams to the floor, forming puddles of crimson at his feet. He felt the same smell before on Suran's body. Perhaps the girl accidentally stepped into it when she approached the man. But what caught his eye the most and at the same time froze the blood in his veins was the fact that the man had his right arm outstretched and something bloody was resting on his palm. Only after a while did V realize what it was...
A heart.
V again looked at the man's face and felt his stomach clench and a wave of nausea came up his throat.
- It's not the Mafia's work - he said, hardly recognizing his own voice. He licked his lips, feeling he would suffocate. - I know this man - he confessed at last, looking directly at Jungkook, who was standing in the doorway, covering his mouth and nose with his hand. At his surprising confession, Namjoon proceeded quickly from foot to foot.
- You know him?! - he repeated clearly surprised. - What's his name? - he asked, simultaneously opening his notebook so that he could write down the name in it.
V combed his hair nervously, letting his blond bangs fall back into his eyes. He licked his lips and winced a little, feeling the metallic taste of blood on them, the smell of which seemed to penetrate every cell of his body. He exhaled loudly from his lungs, then looked at Jungkook.
- N-no. I do not know him. I mean... I know, but only by sight. I don't know what his name is, but... - He paused for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts to slowly let them form in words. - I've seen him before. I saw him several times when I met with Jackson...
As he spoke, his eyes never left Jungkook. Hearing his words, the brunet involuntarily tensed.
- It was Seokjin's informant. And since his body was tossed in the workshop belonging to Jungkook and he is holding his own heart in his hand... This is a message for me... - pronouncing these words, V's voice trembled slightly. - It means that Jin... - He paused for a moment.
His throat tightened so much that he couldn't bring himself to say the words out loud. He only looked Jungkook straight into his wonderful, doe and innocent eyes, in which he saw understanding.
- It means that Jin found out about me... - Jungkook finished for him, smiling faintly at him.
***
Jungkook was sitting in front of the workshop entrance, exactly in the same place where Suran was sitting about an hour ago. His thoughts were one big chaos. Perhaps he should be terrified, but he felt numb. He didn't know what he should feel. They both have long known that this moment is coming inevitably. It was only a matter of time before Jin found out about him. Now he knew who he was and where he worked. He could get him at any moment, but he still didn't feel nervous. At least not that Jin threatens him. He was more afraid that the vampire could use him to get to V, and he wouldn't survive it. He tried to think of some logical solution to the whole situation, but he was unable to focus.
He brushed his unruly strands with his hand and looked at V, who was talking to Namjoon and one of the policemen. Over the past half hour, the vampire talked with the entire investigation team to convince them that only burglary has occurred. Together with Nam, they decided that it would be better to keep what happened here in secret. They did not want to blow the investigation and further complicate the situation with Jin. When V had his hands full of work, he just sat motionless, lost in his own thoughts.
He turned his gaze on V. The vampire was focused on conversation. His caramel skin almost glistened in the rays of the sun, his blond hair was held up by a black bandana, thanks to which he could admire his face, prominent cheekbones and the sexy, sharp jaw line, which he loved to study with his tongue. He fixed his chocolate irises on his delicate lips, so perfectly cut, soft and at the same time hard, matching those of him like a missing puzzle. The vampire's lips moved slowly, making the words melodiously roll off his tongue and caress the ears of his interlocutors. Brunet was at such a distance that he could not hear them, but despite this, it was enough for him to narrow his eyes for a moment to hear this deep timbre in his mind.
V, as if feeling his gaze, glanced furtively at him. For a few short moments their eyes met, but it was enough for Jungkook to feel that they were connected by some invisible thread. The blue of V's irises was the most amazing color he had ever seen, nothing could match it. Even the most beautiful seas he had seen so far could not outshine him. There was always too much in the vampire's eyes. There was too much love, too much passion and lust in them. One look was enough for Jungkook to know that V would be able to sacrifice everything for him.
And he knew he couldn't let him do that.
He had to come up with something quickly. He couldn't let V risk for him. Now that Jin knew who he was, it was only a matter of time before he got him. He had to overtake him. He was a hunter, so he should behave like that.
He ran his hand through his hair again and looked at V. He liked to watch him when the elder did not see it, but now looking at him, he felt a strange tightness in his chest. He didn't know why, but he felt as if an invisible clock was counting down his time. He almost felt the transience of the moment and hated that feeling.
Suddenly, the sound of his phone snapped him out of his thoughts. Startled, he took the cell phone out of his jacket pocket and looked at the display. The illuminated screen heralded an attempt to Contact him by the restricted number. He hesitated for a moment. He usually didn't answer such calls, but this time some invisible force directed his hand at the green telephone icon. Without saying anything, he just put the device to his ear and listened to the silence on the other side for a moment.
- You can talk? - a voice asked suddenly.
Although the question was not clear, Jungkook knew what his interlocutor was asking. He wanted to know if V could hear their conversation. He gave a quick glance towards the blond, then turned away so that the vampire could not see that he was holding the phone in his hand.
- Yes - he replied to the handset, lowering his voice to a minimum.
For a moment there was silence again. He felt as if his interlocutor wanted to build tension or thought carefully about choosing his words.
- I think it's time to meet in private. Just me and you - a voice said suddenly. - Let's meet tomorrow, noon. I will send the address in a moment.
After these words, the connection was broken. Jungkook reflexively tightened his hand on the device and let out a loud breath, which he held back without realizing it. After a while, he heard the sound of the message being delivered. He quickly displayed the SMS and looked at the attached location. He didn't know this place. He only knew that these were the outskirts of Seoul. The perfect place to meet without witnesses. His heart beat faster.
Perhaps his chance to stop Jin had just appeared?
- Are you all right, Doll? - said the wonderful deep voice suddenly.
Jungkook looked again at the location, thanking in his mind for the photogenic memory and quickly deleted the message, then slipped the cell phone into his jacket pocket. He looked up at V, who was now standing a few feet away from him and smiled gently at him.
- I'm okay, honey - he replied and slipped his hand into the slightly larger one, entwining their fingers together.

Bambam hissed softly as the needle stuck into his skin again. The vampire had been doing it for the third time, his forearm was sore. He felt quite weak after losing so much blood, but only bit his lips without saying a word. He knew his weakness would not last long. As a vampire, he regenerated quite quickly, and by protesting or grumbling, he could bring upon himself a much more severe punishment. Instead of focusing on the unpleasant burning sensation, he looked away from the puncture and looked at the black-haired man standing in front of him.
His face was focused, his hair slightly longer than last time, but perfectly arranged. The vampire was wearing a tailor-made suit that wonderfully emphasized the ideal proportions of his body. He looked very elegant in it, but what attracted his greatest attention was the fact that the brunet was humming something under his breath. His voice was barely audible, but Jin was undeniably in an excellent mood today. He was curious what put him in such a great mood. Recently, when he was here, he killed his inmate in front of him. Such a huge change could not go unnoticed.
- Y-you seem to be in a good mood today - he said suddenly before he could bite his tongue.
Jin stopped humming and looked up at him. His gaze was hard, but then it softened and a mysterious smile crept over his lips.
- Because I'm in a good mood - he said without hesitation.
Bambam felt curiosity growing in him, but he was afraid to ask for more. Jin held his hand tightly and pulled the needle from his body. From the place where the needle was inserted, a thin guard of blood flowed out, but the dark-haired man almost instinctively wiped it with his thumb, then reached for a wet cloth and began to wash his wound with it. It was not necessary, the wounds of the vampires healed quickly, all the more as small as a few puncture done with needles, but Bambam felt a surge of sympathy and gratitude for the care shown to him. He knew his feelings for Jin could be compared to prisoners with the Stockholm Syndrome, but he couldn't help it.
- Yesterday I was able to find someone I was looking for a long time... - Jin suddenly began. - Thanks to him everything will finally work out...
Jin's words were very mysterious. He could hardly deduce from what he was saying, but in his voice he could hear a distinct note of nostalgia and something that betrayed that Jin was very excited about it. Whoever the vampire found was obviously very important. A million questions came to the young vampire's lips, but he stopped his curiosity. The less he knew the better.
- You look beautiful today - he only whispered, looking at his gray, perfectly tailored suit.
Jin looked at him from under the curtain of his thick, black eyelashes and he laughed softly. He knew that the young man's words were most likely caused by a sexual drive related to his blood, but he liked it when someone tickled his ego.
- I know. I am probably the most beautiful man ever created - he replied bluntly.
Jin was never one of those modest, he knew he was beautiful and knew his value well, though he had to admit that he loved getting compliments. He wiped the young vampire's forearm completely, then straightened and smoothed his suit.
- I have a meeting with a special guest right away and I feel it will be something special - he added, then gently stroked Bambam's hair.
His gesture seemed to carry almost fatherly emotions, but none of these things. He liked this young man, but he was not attached to anyone. One wrong step, and he would have killed him without blinking. Without thinking about it, he stepped out of the cage, packed the drawn blood into the fridge and looked at his watch.
Twelve noon.
It's time.
His guest should already commute to the villa. He smoothed the suit again and started up the stairs. He could barely leave the basement and enter the spacious living room when he heard the doorbell ring.
Dead on time.
Jin smiled to himself, then started with a slow, dignified step toward the door. When he finally opened them and looked at his guest, his smile grew even more.
- I couldn't wait for you - he said enthusiastically and indicated that his guest would come inside.
The young man bowed slightly before stepping over the threshold. As he did so, his dark eyes carefully looked around, absorbing the beauty that was painted before his exploring look. Jin's house was beautiful. Elegant, kept rather in a classic atmosphere. Bright colors dominated everywhere. Light, marble floor, white furniture in light beige shade with dark mahogany inserts. Beautiful paintings hung on the walls. Most of them depicted one and the same woman with long, almost red hair. On some, she was beautifully smiling, on others thoughtful, with dreamy eyes, on others still grumpy, like a small unruly child.
- Let's get to the living room. It will be more convenient to talk to us there - Jin suddenly said, tearing him out of his thoughts.
Without waiting for an answer, Jin moved forward, leading him into the living room. This room was also light and airy. Maintained in the same atmosphere as the lobby. Comfortable bright sofas arranged around the fireplace, a marble floor and large spacious windows that let in the warm rays of the afternoon sun. All decorations and accessories seemed to be handmade and certainly a feminine hand could be felt here. Jin did not look like a man who would pay so much attention to details and interior colors. The central place of the living room was occupied by a large, black piano, standing on a small platform. It was beautiful.
- Do you play? - he asked, unable to resist.
Hearing his words, Jin handed him a glass of whiskey, which he had just filled, and started toward the instrument. He set the glass with the golden drink on the small table next to it and approached the black furniture himself. He ran a hand over the smooth surface. The pads of his fingers moved so tenderly on his texture, as if he touched the body of his lover, not the most ordinary instrument. There was nostalgia and longing in this touch. The vampire brushed his dark hair away, then sat down at the piano seat.
When his fingers hit the keys, the room was filled with beautiful and charming sounds. Jin played for a moment, eyes closed, letting his fingers neatly dance the dance they knew well, gliding swiftly on the black and white keys. Music spread throughout the living room, filling it with a wonderful sound, penetrating the white walls decorated with paintings of Yura and the soul of his guest. The melody was beautiful and poignant. His companion watched his face carefully, which now seemed soft and relaxed, as if the vampire had moved to a completely different place. The music seemed to fill him all, soften his features, an almost invisible, gentle smile crept over his lips. In the end, however, his fingers stopped moving, and the room was filled with silence again.
- Go ahead, ask. I guess you didn't come here to ask me about my musical talents - he suddenly threw up, still looking at his hands, which froze motionless, then he suddenly raised his head and looked at his guest, who stood a few steps away from him, leaning his hip against the edge of the couch, he was holding whiskey in his hand, but his eyes were fixed on him.
Baekhyun laughed softly, then moved the glass gently, as if stirring the golden liquid in it, then dipped his lips in it and took a small sip. He held the alcohol in his mouth for a moment, then let it flow down the wall of his throat, warming it up nicely. He looked up again to Jin, who was still sitting at the piano, his hands on the keys. Black-haired man took his hands and let them rest on his thighs, then turned harder towards him.
- After your call yesterday, I knew that you wanted to ask me an important question, so I'm listening... I think we both knew that this conversation would be necessary. There is no reason to delay it.
- You're right - Baekhyun replied, then took a deep breath and pushed himself off the couch. - I think it's time you told me... What really connects you with V.
Jin was silent for a moment, as if wondering what to say, then took a deep breath and smiled wanly, sliding his fingers over his black shiny hair.
- Have you ever been in love, Baek? I'm not talking about physical urge when you want to fuck someone, but actually about honest and deep love...
At his question, Baekhyun felt a strange pressure in his stomach, and before his eyes stood the image of flawless blue eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but luckily before he could do it, Jin began to continue his story.
- I loved Yura since I first saw her. She was the most beautiful woman and vampire I've ever seen. She had incredibly wonderful, long, red hair. She was perfect. Beautiful, smart, funny. She had only one drawback. She was very vain. She wanted to be always the most beautiful, she had to be in the spotlight, and V broke everything. We wanted to destroy him, but not everything went as we wanted. One day the situation got out of control and this fucker killed Yura in front of my eyes...
- I'm sorry. I didn't know - Baekhyun replied.
He knew V well. He knew that a vampire would not kill anyone if it was not absolutely necessary, but he did not mention this fact. He didn't want to tell Jin too much of their relationship. He wasn't stupid, he knew well that each stick has two ends, and each can have its own truth. So he focused on his words, letting black-haired tell his version of the story.
- Is that why you want to kill him?
- I watched him for a long time - Jin continued, ignoring his question. - I waited patiently for the moment when someone important would show up in his life. Killing him is not enough. I want him to feel the same way I did... That's why I will kill his beloved first, then V.
The room fell silent again, but this time the atmosphere was unusually heavy. The air was so thick that it could be cut with a knife. Baekhyun thought about Jin's words for a moment. He had already guessed that V had somehow gotten under his skin. Vampires didn't forgive and didn't forget like people. Revenge on the culprit was a matter of honor, all the more if V took his beloved from him, but it was not the thing in this story that hit him the most... The worst was the fact that Jin admitted why it was Jungkook who was his target.
He was convinced that V loved him. And he couldn't bear this thought...
Asking him to meet, he was only going to know his version of the story, but after his words, a new idea came to his mind. Wasn't the vampire mind brilliant? He raised the glass to his mouth and took a few sips, letting his thoughts form into words.
It seems that the universe was on his side.
- Jin, what if I say that I know a boy who this V loves and it so happens... That I would gladly help you get rid of him... - he said suddenly, approaching the black-haired man.
Hearing his words, Jin put the glass down on the table and looked at him closely, examining his face silently. His eyes were hard and impenetrable. He was silent. The silence seemed to weigh on Baekhyun's thin arms with a force of several tons, but he didn't duck. He stood upright, staring into his eyes without blinking. After a few long moments, Jin finally relaxed his tense muscles and laughed softly under his breath.
- How do I know you know more than I do? - he asked carefully.
He was interested in this sudden turn of events. He did not expect this. He was not stupid, after their last conversation he knew that Baek certainly knew more than he said, but he did not expect an offer of cooperation. After yesterday he was on his way to find V's lover, but Baekhyun's words intrigued him.
- I determined where Jackson works yesterday - he replied, deliberately giving the wrong name of V's lover and carefully watching Baekhyun's reaction.
The vampire didn't tense. He even looked laid back. He put the glass to his mouth and took a few sips. Jin watched his Adam's apple rise and fall as the vampire swallowed alcohol. After a while, the blond licked his lips with the remains of whiskey, collecting its woody, slightly bitter taste from his lips, then bent them in a slightly mocking smile.
- Oh Jin, if you think some Jackson is the one V love, it means you don't really know anything - Baek said, laughing loudly. After a while, however, laughter died in his throat, his face looked sharper, focused, and his eyes narrowed. - His boyfriend is Jeon Jungkook, a mechanic, twenty-four years old. His mother died when he was just over 4 years old, his uncle took care of him ever since. From what I was able to dig out, the man died less than a year ago in a car accident. Jungkook is handsome, clever, athletic, and has a loose tongue that he loves to stick around V's hard cock, but he's also pissing me off, so I'd do anything to get rid of him. Is such characteristics convincing enough to start cooperation?
Hearing these words, Jin smiled broadly. The information Baek possessed was impressive. He could benefit greatly from this cooperation.
- If you know so much about him, why don't you get rid of him yourself? - he asked.
- Let's just say I've heard a lot about V. He's one of the strongest vampires and I don't want him to be my enemy. That is why I propose cooperation. You want to get rid of Jungkook, and I have access to him. I will help you get to him, and you in thanks...
- I will gut that bastard out! - Jin finished with a smile.
Beak returned his smile and took a few steps forward, reducing the distance between them. When he was at his fingertips, he extended his hand in which the glass with the golden liquid was still resting.
- For fruitful cooperation - he said, and Jin tapped his glass in response.
- Hello, partner...
