The Dragon Lairs
The Dragon Lairs
The Red Mountains in front of the Green Plains where the riders stopped were called Dragon Lairs.
And not without reason.
Some of the dragons of the north had found shelter here after the colonization of the Shivering Costs from human settlers.
One large pale grey dragon appeared in the metallic blue sky circling twice above a rocky mountain top before landed with his scaly back legs.
He was a huge large male with dark leather wings and body covered with short but thick grey fur a common characteristic of all the northern dragons.
His large icy blue eyes searched the area of the dark coniferous forest east and below him.
Nothing.
He was alone in the wilderness.
His long neck turned west and his gaze fell further away towards the great plains and the shinning streams in the other side of the mountains.
It was midday and no living creature eyes could see better than his in the daylight.
Suddenly with a echoing roar the dragon took off with few flaps of his powerful wings and gaining high he disappeared in the grey clouds above him.
He saw something approaching his territory.
And then they appeared.
Four flying creature's was coming towards the mountain range from afar.
It was dragons.
But not like his kind.
As they approached the characteristics of them appeared totally different than his.
It was large but coal black and they didn't had any fur in their shinny scales.
Their thunderous roars was echoing as they flew above the rocky mountain valleys and the few eagles and crows that still flied until then disappeared also in the nearest three branches above them.
The dragons was the largest living creatures in the skies this centuries.
But this dragons wasn't alone.
They had four black armoured riders in their backs ,three of them women.
It was a patrol from the dragonriders of the capital , a order of warriors more ancient than the realms of men and even some of the dwarves minor- cities either.
