The night was quiet tonight.
Quieter than usual.

Something was out there stalking his prey.

And it was huge.

A nine feet tall forest giant was looking directly towards a small carefully camouflaged shelter.

He could hear something breathing or crying inside this hut.

Her hut.

The giant sniffed.

" Human ! A young female one ! "he thought and his large hairy body turned towards the direction of the cave.

Despite his huge size he approached without any noise the entrance of the hidden tent.

In his tusked mouth a wry smile appeared as a familiar smell came in his nostrils.

"Here you are ! "he thought and a dark plan started taking form in his mind.

The terrible creature had killed one of the mounted warriors that was searching for her just two nights before.

He found him separated from his companions , a deadly mistake that humans often did.

They both hunted deers in the valley the horseman to bring food to his companions and the giant to feed his mate that had just gave birth in their cave.

He ambushed him in the dim dawn light and crushed his skull with a sharp boulder that the giant always carried as a weapon during his search for food.

He carried away his body and ate his kill raw as they used to in his clan before they almost exterminated by the humans and dwarves of the northern mines.

Giants usually didn't liked human flesh but they occasionally hunted humans in this wild places when they couldn't catch anything else.

And this moonless night he was intented to kill again.

But not her ...

He was intended to take her back to his place.

He wanted her alive.

But she wasn't an easy target ...
