the witches arrival

It had been a cold morning, and I had yet to fully accept the day as my own. When I woke up the day was colorless, nothing mattered. My friends attempted to speak with me, however when they spoke I heard nothing. I saw no one. It had been this way for a long time, I don't know why either. It's not like I have a bad life, I have my family, my older brother is my best friend, I am happy.

So why is the world so plain to me?

Today I woke up with a sharp pain in my chest, but nothing was there. It had been strange but nothing I cared too much for, so I carried on with my morning schedule. As usually, I heard a loud knock on the door, and there he was. Yelling up at my window for me to "Hurry your ugly  ass up!" I rushed down stairs, saying a quick goodbye to my mother as my father watched me leave without a word.

Naruto and I walked to school, I came along for the turtles down by the river, and he goes this route for some girl. Today we were running late so we didn't have time to see the turtles. I already hate today. Hinata joins us, so that gets Naruto to stop talking to me and keeps him focused on her.

It was about 8:13 in the morning when we had arrived, and for the first time in a long time I saw a flash of color. It was quick, and honestly I wouldn't have normally noticed anything like it. However, it was a peculiar color. Why would there be pink here of all places? You can't have colored hair, and our uniforms don't have any color at all.

I didn't want it to bother me, but it did. I wanted to see it again. Before I could go chase after it, Naruto waved at me to come to his locker. I know he's just going to ask for lunch money, but I don't mind. He is my best friend after all, right?

"Hey, Sasuke! Can you do me the biggest favor everrr! I won't bug you at all, all day! I pinky promise! I keep all my promises, right Hinata?" Naruto quickly exclaimed, with a small yeah from Hinata. Not that he noticed anyways.

"What is it, dumbass?" It sounded harsh, but I knew he wouldn't take it too seriously. Hinata however gasped at the swear like I killed her cousin or something. I probably shouldn't swear around her then, just to make sure it didn't offend her.

He laughed awkwardly, "Can I please, hear me out, pleaseeee, borrow some lunch money?" but before he could say anything else I quickly responded with, "Get your own lunch,"  he then began to argue.

I enjoyed arguing with him, it made me feel a little better. Either way we both knew I would buy lunch. Sadly, to cut off his bickering, the first bell rang, and this meant it was time to split.

When I arrived at my homeroom, it felt dark. I couldn't look up because I had felt everyone staring at me, so I went directly to my seat and quietly sat. I had chosen to stare at my eraser with holes poked in it, this pink was grey, and dirty. Nothing like the pink I had seen this morning, even if it was some stupid toy that I saw, I want to see such a beautiful pink again.

And then it rang, the bell to start the day, but my teacher would be late and everyone would talk until he walked in. When Kakashi does walk in it'll be the same complaining as usual, "Oh you guys are so loud, I can hear you from down the hall, stupid kids. It's early, and all you do is talk, why don't you read a book? Like me, I read all the time, and I've got a degree now!"

However that didn't happen today, and I didn't like that. My schedule was thrown off by him coming in a few moments after the bell, instead of fifteen to twenty minutes later. He looked serious, said the daily announcements and then told everyone to quiet down.

"Today, we have a new student," unimpressively he said, what was the purpose of him having us quiet down if that's all he was going to say. We have new students constantly, they never last past a week. It doesn't matter.

He went to the door, and there I saw it again. That pink, there it had been again. It reminded me of something, or someone but I don't know who or what. A few moments had passed, whispers were going around, you could already hear who wanted to be her friend and who didn't.

Kakashi nudged her shoulder, as to give her a hint to go on and introduce herself. She looked up confused, but she quickly let out a short 'Oh!' and began to speak, "My name's Haruno Sakura, it's nice to meet you all. I hope we all get along well."

Kakashi pointed towards a desk, on the other side of the room. She sat by a lot of interesting people, she should fit in very well. Because it was homeroom, Kakashi just let her talk to the people around her. It's not like she had homework to do anyways.

I could hear giggles, and already some boy getting all excited about her sitting next to him. He was loud, and was one of the only noticeable people in the classroom. A greet bandanna around his arm, probably some kind of deep meaning or whatever. I don't care.

It doesn't bother me, it shouldn't. So why was she so far from me? I can barely see her color anymore. When she was finally completely blocked from my view I went back to the colorless world I lived in, without her.

Why did that make me feel so empty?
