The Howls Of The Night. { Werewolf/Human Love Story. } Chapter Three.

I walked out of my new gym coach office with my new gym uniform and a piece of paper with my locker room number and combo. I guess dark purple and gold a good match. I walked into the boys locker room and was a little thankful enough Hayden was in the same class. I was a little suprised to find my locker was right next to him.

"Please say this class are at least descent.", I asked as I put in my combo to my locker. At my old school, gym was nothing but a hang out session. Man, I thought only me and a few other wolves were the only ones caring enough to do something.

Hayden threw off his shirt and threw it in his locker before answer, "Yeah. I mean, the guys here love to play, but the girl--eh, that's a different story.", he grinned, making me arch an eyebrow. "Your little mate in the same class to.",

I wanted to hit my head against the locker so bad, I actually did, groaned, and sqeeuze my eyes shut, "You have to be kidding.",

"Nope.", he said, popping the 'p' and chuckled. I took my head off the locker and opened it and threw my stuff in it. I took off my shirt as he continued, "Surpisingly, she's very good...at flexability.", he smirked.

My eyebrows forward together, "Flexability?",

"She use to be in gymnastics. Started when she was nine and quite when she was fourteen. But she's still very flexabile.", he chuckled and threw on his dark purple basketball shorts. "That girl can do a split so easily, it looked painful by just watching.", he chuckled.

The image of her being in a leotard flashed in my mind. It was a red one with sparkles on it. It looked amazing on her lightly tan skin and her long dark brown hair down and her smiling made me feel crazy all over....

I shook my head and Hayden must of notice what I was thinking cause he laughed and slapped my shoulder as he walked away, but said before walking out of the gym room, "Dress fast. Coach hates late commers.",

I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly before throwing on my gray shirt with the school name and logo on. I took my blue jeans and threw on my dark purple baketball shorts and ran out of the locker room into the gym were everyone was running laps.

I couldn't help but freeze when I entered. I saw Makenna on the other side running with Hayden, who was talking and grinning down at her. My knees felt weak seeing her in red and white strip shorts and the same grey shirt I had on, but it was smaller and it clings to her a little. She had her beautiful hair in a ponytail and it went back and forth like a horses tail as she ran. She was frowining up at Hayden with confusion on her face.

What in Gods name is he doing over there with her?, I thought. First, him just being next to her made me feel totally pissed off. He shouldn't be anywhere what is mine! And he better wip that smirk off his face or I'll do it for him! Like Hell I'll let another guy--especially a wolf flirt with her!

Second, what is he talking to her about? He better not be leaving hints or talking about me. I swear to God, if he is, I'll murder him. I don't want to know anything about me! Well, like I even told Hayden anything about me, but still. I don't want her to hear my name or anything.

Hayden looked up at me and grinned bigger and Makenna head snapped over to me and we made eye contact. She stopped running and Hayden kept on going as we stared in each other. Hell, it didn't matter that was on the other side of the room. I could still see her light pale green eyes.

A moment later, she looked back and forth to see if anyone noticed her staring and her small cheeks redden up as she started running again.

I didn't even notice Hayden was close before he slapped my back, making me look away from Makenna running gorgous legs...

Stop it!, I ordered in my head.

I shook my head again and ran up next to Hayden and I glared down at the punk. "What the Hell, man?",

He looked at me confused, but was still grinning, "I have no idea what your talking about, Shawn.", he chuckled.

Before I could hold it back, I growled down at him, "Don't flirt with what mine.",

Hayden hand flew up to his chest as he ran on his side, making him look kind of weird as he said in a shocking voice, "And I thought you didn't want her.", he smirked.

"Doesn't matter!", I hissed. "She's mine no matter what! Stay away or else.", I threaten.

He ran normally again, laughing. "Hey, I just asked how her day bin and what she was doing after school.",

I stopped running and took a hand full of his shirt, making him continuing to laugh up at me, "And?",

"Oh, she rejected. She had work after school.", he chuckled.

Suddenily, I felt a small warm body hit my back and a little squeal as the body went away, making my back feel cold. I let go of Hayden and turned around, seeing Makenna rubbing the side of her head as she groaned in pain.

"Are you dumb or-", she cut herself off when she looked up at me, blushing hard.

Something in me wanted to pick her up and hold her in my arm, telling her I'm sorry and kiss her. Ugh, stupid wolf! I knew it was that talking. No, I refuse to make her feel better. Nope. Nada.

But hey, talking wasn't going to hurt. I bent down in front of her and grinned, "You okay?", I asked as I held out a hand towards her.

Her mouth slight opened, making her full kissable lip make a small 'o' shape as she stared confusingly at me. God, her lips reminded me of Angelina Jolie lips, my celebrity crush. A second later, I felt her small hand went into mine. A small vibret feel lightened up my arm and I guess she felt it too cause her arm jerked.

Trying to seem cool, I raised to my feet, pulling her small small up with me. Her cheek blushed more as she looked away, "Um, thanks.",

Before I could say 'your welcome' or anything else, she went on running, looking straight ahead. even though I tried to ignore my wolf side by not running up next to her, my human side wasn't powerful enough and I ran right up next to her in seconds since I was way faster than her.

I looked down at her baby face as she continued looking forward as I spoke, "Your welcome.",

Her head didn't move, but I saw her eyes quickly look up at me and made contact with mine and she looked away again, making me frown. "I di-didn't see you. Sorry for running into you.", she said.

I chuckled, amused by how innocent she sounds. It made me feel so warm inside, I thought it was totally adorble. I couldn't stop myself before saying, "Hey, i'm fine. Your the one that hurt yourself.". I hate myself for going into converstation with her. I shouldn't be, I should be making her hate me. But my wolf side wanted something else. It want her to like me.

"Well, you do have a hard body.", she said. Her eyes wided and a small gasped escaped her lips as she said up at me in embarrasment as she realized what she just said. Oh, so she think I have a hard body? Hmm. Evil thoughts went inside my head and I tried to block them out, but they kept on coming. I wanted to chuckle at how cute she looks right now and pulled into me and kiss her full Anglina-Jolie-like lips. "I-I mean--Uh...do you work out or somethng?", she asked, running again and I easliy was next her in a second.

"Sometimes," I answered, grinning like a maniac now at her.

She slipped a small smile on her face, "Oh. That's cool.". Oh, that smile. It made my head go crazy and fuzzy.

We talked about working out for some reason as we ran around the gym two more times and she actually laughed and giggled at some of the things I said. How can someone with her personallity not have friends? She's seem so outgoing and funny.

When I asked her if she ever worked out, she shook her head as we walked over to the bleachers in the room, "Well, actually, I had. I used to do gymnastics.", she said.

Not wanting her to know I already know that so she wouldn't think I'm weird, I nodded my head, "Really? That's so cool.",

"Yeah. I don't anymore.", she said.

"And why not?",

"Well, um, I quite. My father, he, um...died. I couldn't think of anything else but him--uh?", she questioned when I stopped and pulled her into my chest and wrapped my arms around her neck. Her hands stood in the air, not sure what to do. I couldn't help myself though. The sad look on her face made my heart skip a beat. A need to comfort her went over me and that's when my arms flung out and took her. I didn't mean to, but I felt a little happy to have her small little body against mine. Her body actually felt warm on mine. I don't usually feel the body heat of other people---human or wolf.

Suprisingly, her arms went around my waist and laid her head on my chest. I couldn't the smile slip on my face. I was actually holding her. After hours of protesting, I had her in my arms.

I felt my fellow classmates eye on us, confused on why the new guy holding the odd girl. I could even feel the girls glaring at me. Miranda wasn't in this class and right now, I couldn't care less even if she was.

The second my wolf side left, my human side was shock and confused. I can't be holding her! No, I have to make her hate me! God damnitt! I'm surpised. Ugh, all this is bullshit!

I removed my arms from her and I felt her arms also remove as I stepped back, 'Uh, sorry. Didn't mean to invade your personal space.", I said before walking away before she could speak. I wanted to punch myself right in the face as I walked up the bleacher and sat down next to a grinning Hayden. When he opened his mouth, I raised my index finger, "Don't. I don't need to hear it.",

He kept her mouth opened for a few more second, thinking if he should listen or not. Finally, his mouth closed and shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, I'll just hold it against you now and the other stuff you do.",

I groaned and my head fell into my hands, annoyed with myself.

Makenna:

I wasn't thinking straight when I herd the bell of the diner ring as I stared stright ahead and out the window, off in la la land. My mind was on what happen in gym class...when Shawn hugged me. Why did he hug me anyways? It was so odd. I mean, why would he just pull me into a hug for no reason why? It was weird.

But oh man, was he strong. And nicely heated. Being in his arms--dang, I know this is going to sound weird, but it felt like he was a giant teddy bear. Something I felt comfortable to hug and just wanted to stay inhis arms cause I felt happy.

Ah, Hell!, I yelled in my head. Look at me! Obsessing over something that's never going to happen again! I can't be crushing on the new boy! Who is like--millions times hotter than any of the boys at my school. Damn, I can't be crushing on him. It's just stupid to think of the thought he'll ever like me back....

Ding!

I woke up from my thoughts and jumped up from leaning on the counter from the bell next to was rung. I came face to face with Dylan Blackwood, the richest guy in town. I felt my cheeks burn up in embarrassment since he probably saw me smiling in front of no where like a bimbo and I hate being caught like that. "Oh, um, sorry.", I nervouslly chuckled as I grabbed a menu. "One?",

He nodded, "Yes.". I looked over Dylan. He was in his usual dress pants and white button up shirt with a dark lunar tie. He is a handsome man in his mid thirties. He was a player in town for the ladies from the rumors and he was powerful. Everyone pretty much knows him since he owns a car shop outside of town and he was like...totally rich! Like Travis, he's a usual and comes in a lot. I wonder why though. For someone being so rich, you think he'll go somewhere nicer then a diner.

There was something fimilar about him though. People around have always thought I looked like him. I did have the same hair color and eyes, but doesn't mean we're related. Anyone could have black hair and light green eyes. But now that I think of it, we did look a little alike. I ignored the thought of being family with him.

I went around the counter, "Booth or table?", I asked.

"Booth, please.", he simply said. He was watching my face though and I arched an eyebrow, touching my cheek to see if I had anything there and did the same on the other side.

"Do I have something on my face?", I asked.

He cleared his throat and looked away for a second before looking at me again. "No. It's just, you have this happy glowing look. You don't usually have that look.", he said.

My cheeks heated up since he pretty much caught me in la la land and he probably knew it was over a guy. He was right though, I'm usually in this sad-force-on smile look. "Oh," I said. I spoke as I walked to a booth and he fallowed behind, "Today was just a good day.", I said, smiling at the thought of being in Shawns arms.

Ugh, cut it out!, I screamed in my head.

He sat down and asked as I handed him his menu, "A boy?",

I wondered why he was asking and arched my right eyebrow, "Yes?", I said, a little slowly.

"Someone I might know?", he asked as looked up at me seriously. Why does he want to know and why dose he care?

"Uh," I said, slowly as I tapped my pen against my notepad. "I don't know. Shawn.", I said slowly again, wondeirng why I just gave his name out. But I something about saying his name made me feel...happy.

"As in, Shawn Gates. Travis Gates younger brought?", he asked.

I stared down in shock. How does he know that? Whoa, crazy. Well, he probably just know Travis some how and Travis must have mentioned Shawn to him before or something. "Yeah. You know them?",

"I know Travis, haven't met Shawn yet.", he said, opening the menu and looked in. He mummbled something under his breath, "I look forward to meeting him.". I was about to ask what he meant as curiosity filled over me, but I knew better it was none of my business. "I'll take a sprite.", he said without looking up.

I quickly wrote it down and told him I'll be right back. As I walked back to the counter, I couldn't help but glance back in confusion at him. He alwayed seem...odd to me. I don't know why, but he just does. I hopefully never have to find out.
