Chapter 6
(Y/N) was sitting in the main underground room reading again. She sighed a bit putting the book down and checking the time. It was late at night. She shifted into Omega form and curled up in the warmest corner of the room. She wrapped her tail around her body but her eyes stayed locked on the door. She listened intently to everything going on around her, hearing nothing, not a single tick, squeak, or breath. The room is soundproof. She thought. Considering that she couldn't hear any of the activity going on upstairs all day unless the door was open. I'd really appreciate some form of noise. She thought to herself. Her ears drooped a bit remembering her bed back at her home with Aizawa. The constant soft breathing of the Eraser Hero and his many cats always lulled her into peaceful sleep. (Y/N) had been losing sleep a lot these past weeks. Not being able to get comfortable in the lifeless and empty room. She loved silence, but she also liked having background noise. It made her feel more at ease with her surroundings if she could tell what was going on around her. Completely still silence always gave her a feeling of foreboding. She stood up and started pacing around the room, the rough hard ground under her paws making her even more anxious. For a moment, the room seemed to get smaller. (Y/N)'s head whipped around, her ears alert and her eyes glowing a dark blood red. She started to growl as she paced in a smaller circle. I need an open area. Why am I getting so anxious!? I need out! She thought in a panic. The room seemed to be closing in now. Why now, why now, why now!? She thought. She felt a howl rising in her chest and she pawed at her muzzle. Don't howl you idiot!!! You may not hear them but they can probably hear you!!! She thought. She shifted into human form and ran for the flip phone. She scanned over the three contacts on it. T.S....Tomura Shigaraki....K...Kurogiri. So the last one.... She quickly texted the number.
(Y/N): Todoroki!? This number is yours right!? I need help!!!
The female started pacing around the room until she got a response.
N.F: (Y/N)? It's like...one in the morning...what's going on?
(Y/N): Oh thank whatever GOD is up there that you're awake! I need you down here...now! Please....
N.F: (Y/N) what's going on? Why do you need me down there?
(Y/N): FOR THE LOVE OF-JUST GET DOWN HERE ICY HOT!!! I'M NOT KIDDING I NEED F*CKING HELP!!!!!!!
A couple of minutes later the door to the underground room opened up. "(Y/N)?" Todoroki called. (Y/N) slid to the ground on the verge of tears as the walls continued to close in around her. "Can't breathe....walls are closing in...can't...breathe..." She muttered. Todoroki ran to her side. "(Y/N)!? (Y/N) what's wrong!?" He asked. "Outside...I need to get outside. NOW!" (Y/N) shouted. Todoroki, without hesitation, helped her up and out into the main area before walking up the stairs. He guided her to the roof of the bar her she sat down and breathed heavily. Todoroki sat next to her and was shocked when she didn't snap at him. She looked away from him, her breathing still a little frantic as she wiped her eyes quickly. "S-s-sorry about that..." She muttered. "D-did you just apologize for something?" Todoroki asked in shock. She shot him a quick glare. "Ha, ha. VERY F*CKING FUNNY ICY HOT!!!" She snapped. He held up his hands in mock surrender. "Okay, okay. Sorry. Bad time, I know." He said. (Y/N) looked forward, away from him, taking a few more deep breaths. "Okay....so what was that about?" Todoroki asked. (Y/N) sighed. "Claustrophobia episode. It happens once or twice a month with me. No warning, no explanation. Just random episodes of Claustrophobia that only Dad knew about." She explained. "So...you're claustrophobic?" Todoroki asked. "Sometimes. About once or twice a month. Its...completely random. And....annoying..." She clarified. "Odd...so the only pattern it has is that it happens once or twice a month?" Todoroki questioned. (Y/N) nodded. "Just random, out of nowhere. And its extremely....annoying...irritating...infuriating. All of these words and more." She grumbled.
The two grew silent for a minute while Todoroki was trying to think of something to talk about. "Hey Todoroki...why did you become a villain?" (Y/N) asked suddenly. The male's eyes hardened. "Because of my father, why else?" He questioned. "There has to have been something Shoto. Something that pushed you beyond your boundaries. There's always a reason. What did that flaming trash can of a human do to you?" She shot back. Todoroki looked away. "Always a reason huh? Well it could have been many things. The abuse. The expectations. What he did to me, my mother, and my siblings. Hell, maybe I just snapped. Finally had enough. I joined the League a few years back. I'm sure you remember it. My disappearance. It was all over the news for months." He said. (Y/N) nodded a bit. "Every hero in Japan was looking for you. It was one of the first missions Dad took me on. Search and rescue. We never did find you, as you can plainly see. But every single week I went out searching I always thought I was right on top of you. One clue away from finding you. I remember clearly one day when I was following a scent trail that smelled like you and it just up and vanished right as I got close to the source." She said. "Heh. I'm good at covering my tracks. Kurogiri's warp helps y'know." This got (Y/N) to chuckle a bit. "Good at covering your tracks my a*s. I'm a lot sharper than I was back then. I was only ten or eleven when that mission happened Shoto. I could probably find you with or without Kurogiri's warp now." She said. "Is that a challenge?" Todoroki asked. (Y/N) shot him a smirk. "Take it how you will. Maybe one day I will track you down once the heroes come and find me." She said. Todoroki stared at her. "You still think they're coming?" He asked. (Y/N) barked a laugh. "Hate to break it to ya' Todo. But they'll find me one of these days. And until then, I won't let myself be persuaded to your side." She said. "My side huh?" Todoroki questioned.
"(Y/N)...I have a question for you." He said. She raised an eyebrow. "How long do you think its been since you were kidnapped?" Todoroki asked. The cold truth gnawed at the back of the Hell Hound Quirk User's mind. But she kept a straight face. "I dunno....a week. Two weeks. Maybe three? Things move slowly here. Its hard to tell." She said. Todoroki shot her a glare. "(Y/N). The truth." He spat. She grew silent. Todoroki sighed. "Its been almost the entire month. Do you honestly think that the heroes are still coming?!" He snapped. "They searched for you for months!" (Y/N) snapped back. "They'll search for me just as long!" She added. "Do you really believe that though?" Todoroki asked. He stood up looking at what few stars he could see. "(Y/N) do you honestly believe that the heroes will search for you for that long? Do you honestly think one missing student will make a difference to them?" He asked. "Your Quirk, when accepted, isn't all that strong when you really squint at it. Sure, you've got all that fire power. The agility, heightened senses. But why do you think Eraserhead stuck you in a training regimen like that? One that would make you be able to fight without sight. A regiment that taught you to adapt your fighting skills depending on your opponent. Its because the base of your Quirk isn't that strong. You have a Transformation Type Quirk (Y/N). And while yes, it can be scary, its not exactly the strongest thing out there. Do you think you could win against All Might? How many villains do you think you could take down? Wait...let me rephrase that. How many well trained villains do you think you can take down? Do you think you could take on a villain like Stain? And what about me? I'm the same age as you but yet I still beat you in a fight. And why did you lose to me again? Oh right. Alpha Form's Time Limit. It's your Ultimate Battle Form. A form that everyone is terrified of. And yet I managed to outlast its timer."
His words felt like knives digging into (Y/N)'s skin. The burned upon contact but froze her very soul. "And what about the others? The people that don't accept your Quirk? They're either scared of you or hate you. Some believe you're a monster. But that's normal for them to judge, isn't it? They never know what someone has been through. They assume everything about your life because of who you are or what you can do. Look at me. Everyone believed I was happy. That I had the very world at my finger tips. That I was born with everything. But was it true? No! You want to know what I was born without? A father. Because the man that raised me is the furthest thing from a father. I had scars. Bruises. But did anybody notice outside of the family!? No! And those in the family never did anything about it! My brothers. My sister. My own d*mn mother! No one bothered to speak up! And why!? Because Endeavor is a man with power! He's 'The Number 2 Pro Hero'! And because of that everyone assumed I was fine! That I had everything! That I was happy!" Todoroki took deep breaths. Calming himself down slowly.
"I never assumed anything like that..."
Todoroki shot a look at (Y/N) who was still sitting down. She stood up. "Your words sting like fiery knives that chill my very soul Shoto. But you claim everyone assumed that? Well I didn't...I didn't trust Endeavor from the moment I met him. I didn't trust the way he always kept a hand on your shoulder. Or the bandages that covered your arm that he brushed off as nothing. I never assumed you were happy living under a b*stard like him...." She said. Todoroki scoffed. "That makes you the first." He grumbled. "Yeah. I can see that. So Shoto. What made you finally snap?" She asked. "Snap? Is that what you're calling it? I didn't go insane (Y/N)." Todoroki said. "Ya' see, you say that, but suddenly turning to villainy shows slight signs of madness." (Y/N) shot back. Todoroki crossed his arms a bit, a subtle smirk appearing on his face. "Madness you say? Insanity? Is that how you see me now? Insane?" He asked. "Depends." She growled in return. "Depends on what?" Todoroki questioned.
"On whether or not you feel any remorse for the people you've killed."
Todoroki stiffened up. "I can smell the bloody knife Shoto. I've seen bodies both burned and iced. I've smelled your scent at crime scenes of murders but never wanted to believe it. Others dismissed it, they couldn't smell your scent. You cover your tracks, true. But you can never hide your scent. Not from a Hell Hound." A vicious and cruel smirk split (Y/N)'s face. "A Hell Hound always finds their prey. We never lose a scent or let our prey escape us." She said. "However, I never mentioned it. I never wanted to believe it Shoto. So...how many have you killed? Do you feel remorse. What's it like taking the life of another person?" (Y/N) asked. "Tell me something....do you feel sorry for every bug you've killed? Do you remember how many?" Todoroki asked. (Y/N) grabbed his shirt, stareing him dead in the eyes. "Those are HUMAN lives Shoto! Don't you DARE compare them to BUGS!" She shouted. "What does it matter to you (Y/N)? How many villains have you mercilessly beaten during your vigilante work? How many heroes have crossed your path that you've dubbed as 'fakes'?" He asked. Todoroki glared back into (Y/N)'s fire red eyes. "The question I want to ask you is this, how many have YOU killed (Y/N)?" He asked.
(Y/N) froze.
"She was an innocent, young hero. Had ambitious desires. But she was kind. She wanted fame, sure. She wanted money, yes. But she wanted it to support her family. But she loved to help others. She was friendly towards everyone. Even you (Y/N)."
"Stop..."
"Oh but the poor girl. Victim of circumstance. Wrong place, wrong time."
"Shut up...."
"Her family must have been devastated. She had such a bright future. But you took it away from her."
"I-it was an accident I-."
"Accident? Oh (Y/N), you and I both know that's not true..."
"I-I-I-I'm...I...I didn't...I never wanted-."
"Oh and how quickly you covered up you were even there! Burned all the evidence and left the body to be found by some Pro on patrol. And they never even realized who did it! Burn marks and fang marks yet they never figured it out! Such a brilliant little murderer you are."
"S-s-stop!"
"Heh...are you really any better than me (Y/N)?"
*THUD*
Silence....Todoroki sat on the ground, cupping a cheek as (Y/N) had her fist outstretched. Her breathing heavy. Todoroki smirked. "You have a strong right hook." He commented. He started laughing, despite the bruise forming on his cheek. "D*mn! That kind of punch is what I'm talking about! This violent side of you. Its not suited for hero work. You belong here. As a villain." Todoroki said. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD SHOTO!" (Y/N) shouted, eyes glowing red as tears built in the corners of her eyes. Todoroki just laughed, standing up again. (Y/N) started backing away from him. "You're insane...you're F*CKING INSANE." She shouted. Todoroki was on her in seconds, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her close to him. "Oh and so what if I am my dear? All the best people are a little mad." He said, tilting her chin up and forcing her to look at him. He smirked. "I lost my sanity a long time ago (Y/N). I'm just good at hiding it." He said. (Y/N) shivered violently, a small whimper escaping her throat. "Hm? Was that-did you just...?" Todoroki trailed off, smirking a bit. "N-no. Shut up! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! GET AWAY FROM ME!" (Y/N) struggled against Todoroki's hold but the male held firm. "Heh...I wonder...how long will it take to drive you mad? Turn you into a heartless killer like me? I'd prefer to have it done before the Sports Festival, but I've got time. I have all the time in the world to drive you into the ocean of insanity." Todoroki muttered. "Just join me (Y/N). It'll be easier on you if you'll just surrender to me now." "NEVER." Todoroki smirked as an idea came to mind. "Hm...you say that now. But eventually, I'll win. Heh. There hasn't been I game I've lost yet." He said. He gripped (Y/N)'s chin firmly, stopping her struggling. "So interesting. You're so unique (Y/N). Smart but aggressive. Beautiful but dangerous. So bitter at times..." He trailed off before doing the unthinkable.
(Y/N) felt many things at once. Confusion. Shock. Fire. Ice. Passion. Bliss. Her sanity slowly slipping, and yet it tasted oh so sweet...
Todoroki pulled away with a smirk. "Bitter...but sweet at the same time." He said. (Y/N) was frozen. Not knowing how to react. He kissed her. The b*stard kissed her! And what was worse is that she liked it.
