Chapter 7

Sarah

Mik was in the infirmary for the whole day. He had a broken arm. Serves him right for shoving me off a cliff. Today I was playing it the forest with Moon Light. She is really smart for a 11 day old dragon. She speaks to me in my mind and I feel what she feels. I ran around the forest in cat form and she had to try and land of my back. It was hard on her, I know the forest so well but she could fly.

My powerful legs powered along the branch and leaf littered ground. The smell of eucalyptus strong in the air. The little purple dragon with the black wings was right behind me. There was a fallen tree in front of me. I slipped under it with unnatural speed and kept running. Moon Light flew over the tree. Ha ha now there was more distance between us. I made a sharp right turn. Moon Light couldn't turn as fast, I got even more ahead. A cold strong wind ruffled my fur, good thing I don't have to lick it. Moon Light was starting to catch up again. I had another idea. I stopped. Moon Light flew right past me. She tried to turn around but her wings clashed and she fell. My smile left my face. I shifted and ran over to where she had fell. She was laying there with her wings stretched out on the ground. I bend down to pick her up but as fast as lightning she got up off the ground flew up then dropped back down onto my back.

Maxina

"Hurry up Sarah I wanna see Claire," I complained.

Sarah was meeting with her pride today so that meant all the amazing witches would be there too. We will be going shopping I'm so excited. I'm wearing glittery blue shoes to make me look extra fabulous. They were tall but I wa still faster than Sarah. I looked back at her. She was looking at a plant.

"Oi come on!" I yelled.

She looked up "Oh yeah."

She ran over to me her golden hair flowing crazily around her. Honestly she needs to get it under control.

"You know I can style your hair if you want," I offered kindly.

"No thanks," she said quickly but then added "I like my natural colour not umm blue."

"I wouldn't turn it blue," I told her.

"Sure..." she said sarcastically.

"Just a little," I giggled and she started giggling too.

Sarah

Maxina and I came to the cafe which our pride was meeting at. Tilly and Ivy Rose were already standing outside of it. Maxina saw Ivy and ran towards her. Squealing. So loud. Tilly and I both covered our ears.

I walked over to her "Meow."

I smiled at her but she had a cruel look on her face and my smile disappeared. This is not good. "What are you planning?"

"I'm going to do it today Sarah. I won't fail," she had a look of cruel determination on her face.

She was talking about becoming Alpha. She has been trying to overthrow Elektra for a while now. I wish she'd just give up because firstly she chickens out every time and secondly I'd never follow her so i'd just be a Pride of Iris. However I doubt Iris would stick around if it was just Tilly.

"This isn't a good idea," I warned her.

"No I can do it," she reassured herself.

"She will kick your ass Tilly," I hissed in her ear.

She glared back at me. I looked away hoping she wouldn't actually try it.

The witches squealing indicated that Claire was near. I looked up and saw Elektra walking towards us with Claire running in front of her. I looked back at Tilly. She was glaring at Elektra. I gave Elektra a nervous look and she knew something was up.

As she got closer I could see Tilly's fist clench but as soon as Elektra was in talking range Tilly walked off bumping shoulders with Elektra rather roughly. I sighed a breath of relief.

Elektra looked me in the eyes and asked "What was that about?"

"Trust me. You don't want to know," I told her not meeting her eye.

"Ok then..." she trailed off thought for a while then added "Where's Iris."

I facepalmed "Knew I forgot something!"

"You idiot," she growled but sounded like she was about to laugh.

"I'm sorry, she is so quiet I didn't even noticed she wasn't there and it was so hard trying to get Maxina out of the hotel because she was casting so many spells to put the glitter on her shoes," I rambled.

Elektra's eyes wandered over to the witches and fell to a rest on Maxina's shoes "Yeah they are sparkly."

"I know..." I looked at them too. The light hitting them cast little patches of light all over the street. Her feet are a disco ball.

"So you should probably get Iris," Elektra told me snapping me out of the trance.

"Well Tilly has.... left so... I guess it can just be you and me today," I told her hoping she'd like that idea so I didn't have to talk to Iris and get her to come.

"Oh alright but next time I'll kick your ass to mexico if you forget Iris," she threatened and I giggled.

Vanessa

Devil watched me as I walked back into the hotel. Her gaze was suspicious and accusing.

"Where have you been?" She asked, her eyes boring into me.

"No where," I told her and smiled.

She seemed to shiver at my smile and I laughed coldly then walked off. Really I had been talking with the leader telling him what had been going on at the hotel. I guess it would make me a traitor but the leader will win this battle so I don't care if I betray these pathetic mutations. They deserve it. They never even trusted me when I was on their side. They really don't trust vampires.

I passed James in the corridor and gave him a smile. He smiled back at me but without kindness. They have been very cruel to him too. Maybe I can convince him to betray the Hotel too. He would of course bring Iris with him. Having a werecat on our side would prove to be very useful.

Iris isn't too strong compared to the other werecats but I believe with the training Iris would be able to take down Sarah. As much as I hate it Sarah is actually a very skilled werecat and a dangerous opponent. Heather might be able to take her down though because she doesn't have that werecat shield. Yet.

She is planning to get it soon. I keep telling the leader to kill her before she obtains it however he is either not listening to me or failing to do so. He will need to send some serious assassins after her.

Natasha

"What are you reading?" Nicoletta asked as she sat down next to me with a book titled 'the uses for wereanimal teeth'.

I looked reluctantly up from my book "Just this book from the Percy Jackson series. A lot of it is correct I'm beginning to think the author may be a myth."

Nicoletta gave me a confused look "Which myth is it about?"

"Demigods," I answered "The author has nailed most of the gods too."

She looked at the book thoughtfully "That's cool I guess. I just hope the mortals don't get any ideas though."

"True, but it does make for a very interesting story," I smiled.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Mik walk in with a cast on his arm. I looked at him. What is he doing here? Nicoletta gave me a strange look then followed my eyes to see Mik too.

"Since when could he read?" she whispered.

"Don't be mean, I'm should he can read. I've just even known him to be interested in books before," I whispered.

We watched him walk over to the romance section.

"Ohhh," we both exclaimed and then started to laugh.

Of course, he is trying to get tips from books to use on Sarah.

Sarah

"It's a full moon tonight," Natasha told us.

"Oh no," Mik and I said together (he got out of the infirmary but his arm was in a cast).

Werecats and werewolves both change to their animal forms in a full moon. Werewolves have control over their body but have to be in wolf form. Werecats do not have control over their bodies. They go completely wild. They kill everything in sight and do not remember any of it. Unlike werewolves there is a way to stop doing that. The moon stone. It makes a werecat be able control their body during a full moon. As soon as the moon light hits the skin of a werewolf of werecat they shift. Werecats will get an uncontrollable urge to get into the moon light.

Suddenly I didn't feel like eating any more. I looked over to the window, the sun was already setting. I let out a deep sigh.

"This time don't try and stop shifting," Nicoletta said to me. Easy for her to say she is a wereTasmaniandevil. They being a not as advanced wereanimals won't shift. So Nicoletta has nothing to worry about.

"Don't worry I won't," I replied. Last time I stayed in my room and the urge to get into the moon light was too strong. I ended up breaking a window to get out.

"Yeah don't break my hotel!" yelled Maxina.

"Ok, ok it was a stupid idea. I won't try it again," I muttered.

"All her ideas are stupid," muttered Vanessa as she walked past me.

I got up and swung my arm around so it hit Vanessa in the head. She fell to the floor unconscious and I sat down. "Well done!" shouted Devil. Natasha gave me a disapproving look. "She had it coming," I explained.

Devil

"Come on Maxina I didn't even do it!" I yelled. Maxina and I stood over Vanessa's unconscious body.

"I'm not having a dead vampire on the ground of my hotel," Maxina whined.

"And I didn't want to go back to school but you made me," I growled, my hair dangerously close to catching on fire "besides she isn't dead."

Maxina looked a little scared but stood her ground. I've got to say that's kind of brave of her. Usually she is so scared of me. She glared up at me angrily but her fake eyelashes kind of made her look like a joke. I lifted my hand and it caught fire. I could see the reflection of it in Maxina's big blue eyes. Then fear filled them. She started to back away slowly.

"It's ok you can just leave her here then," she said before she ran off.

"Maybe I should burn her!" I yelled after her then chuckled.

I looked back down at Vanessa. She is so weak, can't even take a hit from Sarah.

"I'll take care of her," I heard someone say behind me.

I turned to see Jayson standing behind me.

"Yeah sure go ahead," I told him and stood back.

He bend down and picked Vanessa up. I was surprised.

"I didn't know you were that strong," I exclaimed.

"I do fight for my life too, plus she's a vampire. They don't eat anything," he replied then walked off.

I watched him walk off. Strange demigod. I rarely ever talk to him anyway. I heal pretty quickly and he is usually busy with everyone else getting hurt. Poor guy, he doesn't get to fight too often. Even when he does he just uses a bow. I find long range weapons pointless. Needless to say my aim isn't too good but that doesn't matter then I have strength.

Noah walked up to me "You probably shouldn't go outside tonight."

"Why's that?" I asked.

"Full moon," he answered quickly.

"Oh yeah, forgot. Werecats get a little dangerous don't they?" I muttered.

I felt him kiss me on the cheek and I blushed a little. "I don't want you to get hurt," he whispered in my ear.

Sarah

Mik and Flo sat next to me as we watched the sunset.

Mik was sitting way too close for comfort to me. I shuffled slightly along. It seems no-matter what I what I do to him he still thinks that I am the one for him. He isn't as bad as he used to be. At the end of last year he started to beat up any male I would talk to. It was really annoying. I protected them by fighting him. After a few broken bones he got the message.

Gods my life is weird. I have only known him for a year and well it's going to be another irritating year with him.

I looked up the moon was coming up from the horizon. My cat ears popped up and my cat tail popped out. My nails turned to claws. I could feel fur growing all over my body. Usually the shift would be much quicker but this is different. I don't want to shift and the moon's light is making me but it's slowly coming up. So my shift is slow. Anyway, I could feel my bones changing. The fur had stopped growing and my clothes disappeared. I got down on my now four legs. The last thing I remember from that day was looking at the full moon.

James

Her warm kiss still lingered on my cold lips as I watched her tiger form run into the darkness of the forest. "Please be safe," I whispered.

Once she was out of sight I returned back to the Hotel. I felt empty without her and vulnerable he has always been able to protect me but now that she isn't here I'm in danger.

As soon as I walked into the Hotel I knew I was in serious danger. Devil was standing there and she looked angry.

I tried to walk around her but she grabbed my shoulder and threw me into the wall. I moaned in pain. I can't fight her. She'll kill me. She began to walk towards me with a dangerous expression on her face. My mind was racing. I needed to think of something quickly.

Suddenly a lightning bolt hit the ground in front of me and Heather appeared.

Devil stopped and looked slightly surprised.

Heather's hands turned to water "You better not hurt him Devil or else I'll kill you!"

Devil saw the water. Something that looked like fear flickered in her eyes "Fine," she growled softly like the motor of a car then walked off.

Heather turned to face me. "Are you ok?" she asked almost sweetly.

"I'll be ok," I told her.

Her yellow eyes looked into mine. It was slightly unsettling, her eyes aren't the golden type of yellow like Iris' they are lemon yellow and her gaze has the venom of a snake.

She told me "If you're ever in trouble you should know that you can come to Vanessa and I."

Sarah

My eyes opened. I could see blue clear skies. Where am I?

It took me a few moments to realise that it had been a full-moon. My arms and legs were sore. I tried to get up, my legs slipped. I was in a swap. I looked down at my body, it was covered in mud and blood and I don't think that blood was mine. There was flesh under my long nails. I felt my hair, it was caked with mud.

Great... I tried to climb out of the swap again. The mud made me slip and fall on my face. At least no one was there to see that.

On all-fours I climbed out of the swamp. It was then when I realised it was Monday. Damn, I've got to go to school. I looked around. I was in the forest that is behind the hotel but really deep into it. Near the dead part... In the centre of the forest all the trees are dead. No animals go there, I don't either. I shivered just thinking about it. Although I am very curious as to why it is like that.

I started walking, I had a long way to go. I think it is early morning because the heat had not yet set in.

I stopped... I was never going to make it if I walked in human form. I shifted and started to run. As I ran the forest became more and more familiar. My fur still had mud in it but it didn't bother me as much in cat form.

Mik

"Where are you my love?" I called out as I searched the forest for her. I knew she was out he somewhere.... I just needed to find her.
