I explain myself

I sighed as I collected my books from my locker. Another end to a day at school..don't get me wrong, I LOVE learning, it's just almost everyone here is an idiot. There's fake girls who pretend to be smart and actually know nothing, jocks who only want fame, weird kids who probably worship Satan, and the geeks, and so far, I'm the only girl geek. Yes, all my friends are boy geeks. They aren't so bad once you meet them. They don't eat boogers like the popular kids say they do. I only have one friend who isn't a geek, and her name is Alice. You see, Alice isn't a geek, she's more...well she is her own genre. She likes to read books, but then again loves to be rebellious, like skipping school and doing graffiti. You may wonder, why is this geeky girl friends with a rebel misfit?? Well, our mom's are best friends, so I've practically known her my whole life. See, my mom's name is Athena, yes, she is named after the goddess of wisdom, and it fits her, because my mom is smart like me. Alice's mom is named Rachel, and ironically she's a cop despite her daughter being such a rebel. So this is how our mom's met:
My mom worked at a library, and she discovered graffiti on the building, so she called the cops to complain. Rachel came and reported the graffiti, and she knew who the culprit was. Her son, Alex. Alex is Alice's older brother, he was about 13 at that time. Anyway, Rachel said she would take care of it, and her and Athena talked for a while. They started talking about kids and Rachel talked about Alice, and Athena talked about me. About a day later, boom, a play date was planned. I remember being 5 years old and walking Into a police officer's home, it was pretty scary for me, because I hated getting in trouble and I was afraid if I did one thing wrong, that Rachel would arrest me. Well, I soon forgot about that as I saw a five year old with black hair, wearing Monster high pajamas run down the stairs.
"Hi! I'm Alice!" Alice chirped.
"Hi..I'm Anna beth..." I said.
And boom, five minutes later we were playing tag while our mothers drank coffee. I remember meeting Alex for the first time too. I remember him walking out of his room, his black hair a mess and he was wearing ripped jeans and a faded T-shirt. We  locked eyes, but he shrugged it off and went back to his room, I pressed my ear against his door and I could hear rock music blaring inside. All that was 11 years ago. Right now me and Alice are 16 and Alex is about 23. But back to reality, I shut my locker and walked outside into the summer air. It was May, and school was ending soon. Summer was the perfect time to catch up on my reading, so I trudged home and started reading a classic book:
The maze runner.
