[ 7 ] parties and first kisses

[ 7 ] parties and first kisses

They all stood at the top of a grand staircase as girls piled into the luxurious ballroom. Everywhere were servants rushing around, making sure everything was perfect. Kennedy fixed the tie around her neck, asking her fellow club members a question. "Why does this school have a ballroom like this? What would the students even do here?"

"Have parties." Luke told her like it was an obvious answer. "We occasionally host fund raisers in here too."

"And how did we even reserve this place?" Kennedy wonered, looking up at the ceiling where a chandelier was hanging.

Luke grinned at that. "Never you mind, Kenny."

From beside her, the boyish host with the cheerful smile pointed at a young girl when he saw her come in. "Look guys, there's Princess Elaine."

"Harry, Louis!" Luke called, snapping his fingers to get their attention. "Go distract Elaine while Kennedy and I get started on phase one of our master plan." The two step-brothers nodded and hurried down the stairs to her side. Grabbing Kennedy's hand, Luke pulled her further up the stairs to the door that led to the hallway. "Come on, Kenny."

The short haired girl rolled her eyes.

Kennedy walked out of the changing room in the club room, where Luke was waiting for her. He was busy clicking away at his phone, giving the other boys instructions. He lifted his gaze to look at her and nearly dropped his phone out of his hand, his jaw dropped to the ground.

"I still don't understand why I have to wear this." Kennedy frowned.

It was a frilly pink dress, flat pink shoes, and a long haired wig that he had sent Louis and Harry to buy so that she could look more feminine. "Stop complaining, Kenny." Luke told her, his eyes glued to the girl in front of him. "You look really good in that dress, almost like a cute little doll." He shot her a smile.

She blushed slightly. "Uh...thanks. Can we just go?"

Luke nodded, "Yeah, follow me."

Once again taking a hold of Kennedy's hand, the two left the club room to their next destination which was not too far away. When they reached the classroom door they were looking for, Luke placed his hands on her shoulders, his blue eyes boring into her dark brown ones. "Okay, you know what to do. Just find out if he's still in love with Elaine and with he is, we'll bring her to him so they can patch things up."

Kennedy scoffed. "And you actually believe this will work?"

"Yes." Luke assured her. And opening the door to the empty room, he pushed her inside.

The door closed behind Kennedy and she was about to turn around to leave when she saw John Harrison standing at the other end of the room. He was distracted, looking absently out the window until he heard a noise that made him turn in her direction.

"Uh...hi." Kennedy waved shyly.

"You're the girl who sent me this love letter?" He wondered, seeming confused at her behavior. He held the letter out to her and said, "You're nothing like I expected."

Kennedy took the letter from his hand and unfolded it. It was full of little hearts and written in pink colored ink. She knew she hadn't wrote him a letter, so it had to have been one of the boys in the host club.

Her eyes scanned the letter to read: "Dear John Harrison, you probably don't know me but I think you're so hot! I just want to meet you and confess that I'm so in love with you. From the very first moment I saw you I knew you were the one. I want to frolic in the ocean of our love with you and if you feel the same, please come to room 252 in the north hallway this saturday night. I'll be waiting. xoxo, Kennedy Lynn."

"The reason I came was to let you know I'm engaged." He began to explain. "I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything. But my fiance Elaine is the most beautiful girl I know and I'm leaving to England in a few days."

"Why?" Kennedy asked.

The young man sighed. "I'm boring. And even though it might be selfish, I thought if I travelled a bit then I could be someone she was proud of."

Kennedy thought about what he said for a second before finally concluding, "Yeah. That is selfish. But..." She added, "I don't think you need to do that for her to be proud of you. If she really loves you, then she'll love you regardless of anything."

"You think so?" He wondered.

Just then, the double doors swung open to reveal Elaine, who stopped dead in her tracks, frozen by what she saw before her. It was her boyfriend John, alone in a dark room with a beautiful girl. Her eyes immediately glazed over in tears and she tilted her head down in embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were busy." She quickly apologized and then turned to leave.

She ran out of the room while the two others just watched her. It took John a few moments to finally react and he ran after her, calling her name.

"Elaine!"

Kennedy bit her lip nervously, walking into the empty hallway. Soon, Luke found her, having seen John chasing after Elaine. The blonde haired club president stood next to the host club's new member. "I think we only made things worse, Luke." She told him, feeling bad for Elaine. But she didn't even give them a chance to explain.

Luke only smiled. "I don't think so." When Kennedy turned to look at him, he added, "He went after her, didn't he?"

He was right.

Now having a good feeling about their plan to get them together, the freshman honor student smiled.

John followed Elaine to the outside of the school, where he was finally able to catch up to her. "Elaine, wait!" He called, grabbing a hold of her arm and pulling her slim body towards him. The tears were streaming down her face and her shoulder were shaken by her sobs.

"I don't want you to leave me, John." She cried.

And he opened his mouth to speak when suddenly a spot light was on them. There was a staircase that led into the school building and the doors opened to reveal all the members of the host club who walked out onto the balcony. With a microphone in hand, Luke announced, "We will now crown the king and queen of this party; Elaine and John."

Everyone around them began to clap while both Elaine and John looked completely confused.

"Now we would like our king and queen to share a dance together." The blonde haired boy grinned.

"But first," Louis grinned misvhievously. "Our queen will have the honor of giving our newest host a welcome kiss. It is Kennedy's first dance at Empire Academy after all."

Luke turned to his mate, saying through gritted teeth. "We never agreed to this."

"Go on, Kenny." Ashton pushed her forward playfully. "Go kiss Princess Elaine."

Kennedy shrugged. "I guess an innocent little peck on the cheek won't hurt anyone. Right?"

Elaine bit her lip nervously. She looked to her boyfriend to find he was smiling at her. "Its okay, Ellie. It can be like a goodbye kiss since you won't need to visit the host club anymore. It'll just be on the cheek, right?"

She nodded and walked forward, up the steps that led up to the new host club member. Luke watched Kennedy make her way towards Elaine, wishing that they wouldn't kiss. He was trying to find a reasonable way to interrupt them when Calum made a comment. "You know what makes this more interesting?" He sounded amused. "This is going to be Kennedy's first kiss."

The color completely left Luke's face. "What?" Turning towards the new host, he ran forward, trying to grab onto her clothes to pull her back, but he accidentally pushed her forward, making her fall into Elaine's arms, their lips colliding with each other.

Everything around them was quiet, except for the amused laughter coming from the two step brothers. Luke was frozen in his place, only able to watch as the two girls pulled away. Elaine's face was overpowered by a blush while Kennedy was in a daze, her fingers touching her lips.

Kennedy walked back towards the other boys, asking a still shocked Luke, "What's up with you?"

He snapped out of it instantly and took the freshman student in his arms. "I'm sorry for the trauma you've been put through." He said dramatically.

"You mean kissing a girl?" She shrugged. "It was accidental. No big deal."

Harry walked up behind them, placing a hand on each of their shoulders. "I love Kennedy. Things are more fun since she arrived."
