You weren't sure why, but something woke you up suddenly in the middle of the night. You were on your left side, facing the half of your room that was shrouded in darkness. Your windows were covered with light-blocking curtains, so the only light in your room was from your open door. You were confused though, you had closed your door before going to bed. At first, you wrote it off to just being one of your parents or a sibling, however, you then remembered that you were in your new apartment. The apartment you lived alone in and no one had a key, as this was your first night there. Both your eyes were now open and you were looking at the not-so-dark dark part of your room, trying to see if there were any people there or any animals that could explain why you left your door open. That was when you saw there was an odd shadow in one of the corners of your room. It didn't look like a person, it was just a distorted blob of black, darker than the corner itself. It startled you, and you figured that you should probably turn the light on now, however, a sudden voice stopped you.

"Don't move, they're watching you." It was a young sounding voice, possibly a child's voice, but it wasn't spoken out loud, you heard it directly in your head.

"Who's watching me, what's going on? Who are you?" You hesitantly asked, within your head, hoping it would hear you.

"My name is Jamie and I used to live here. The men are back, the men who took me away from my parents." The voice said back, you weren't sure if it was a boy or girl, but it was definitely a child's voice.

"What men? What's happening?" You were scared now, but you didn't dare move. You closed your eyes and hoped to fall back asleep as this surely must have been a dream that you were having, even though you thought you were awake.

"I'm sorry, but you won't like what's going to happen next. They said they'd let me go if I brought them, someone, to fill my place." The voice began the sentence as the child's voice, but as the sentence continued, the voice turned deep and gravely. Your eyes shot open, realizing the voice was now spoken out loud. You were not able to see the odd shadow was no longer in the corner, it was moving towards you like a black dust cloud. It was horrifying to see, even more so when bloody red glowing eyes began to appear in the cloud.

"Ahh!" You screamed, now panicking and tearing out of your bed. You began to run down the hallway to make it out of the front door, however, you were stopped when a sudden force yanked you back and began dragging you. You kicked and yelled, in hopes, it would let go however it didn't and you were pulled back to your bedroom. The dust cloud was now many dust clouds of blackness. Each had a pair of red or yellow eyes, all watching you.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." The voice from earlier said, repeating the words over and over again, switching between a child's voice and a deep voice. You could do nothing more than watch as the other black clouds descended upon you. The last thing you could do was scream before being swallowed by the darkness, never being seen again.

You would never find out why it happened to you, as the person who sold you the apartment lied to you. He had told you that no one had ever gone missing or died in the apartment, but that was far from the truth. Everyone who ever lived there was taken by a mysterious force their first night of living there, and the owner was able to cover it up to hide the truth. The apartment complex wasn't on a burial ground or anything like that, from what the owner knew. However, the original group of people who lived in that specific apartment had done something terrible. They had completed a Satanic ritual, causing a tear in the veil, allowing evil to slip out and take away those who live there. The owner didn't dare close the room off to others. He tried once, and it caused his small child to be taken away by those beings. He felt bad, but there was nothing more he could do but find people who wouldn't be missed and let them be sacrificed.
