"I choose Ryder and Wyatt as the captains and they can choose their teams on their own."

Wyatt was a nice guy - another best friend of Ryder's. I kinda have a small crush on him since junior year. Ryder was making fun of my ugly face (though he has never seen my face) and Wyatt had stepped in for me and had stopped Ryder by pulling him away to the cafeteria.

I know, it's not a big deal-but nobody had ever stepped in for me and I was happy that Wyatt had.

"Olivia." Ryder starts and Olivia smirks as she goes and stands next to him. Olivia is the school queen bitch-and she hates me.

I don't even know why. And she is Ryder's on-off girlfriend.

"Elijah." Wyatt chooses.

"Brandon."

"Felix."

And soon almost everyone are in their respective teams- I was in Ryder's team. He had addressed me as the "new hit chick."

Unlucky.

"Hi, I am Ryder." He sticks out his hand to me. I am not surprised that he doesn't recognise me- I mean he hadn't even seen my face before. I roll my eyes and walk away without shaking his hands.

Coach Jerry blows his whistle and soon balls are flying around. Shit.

Let's hope I don't get hit in the face like the last time.

Last time - Ryder had purposely hit my face with a ball and nobody even bothered. Coach Jerry was in a meeting with the Principal so he didn't know about it.

And Wyatt had walked me to the nurse's office. I know, he is so sweet.

By now, most of the members in both the teams were out. Huh, most of the time I am the first person out.

SMACK!

I fall down on to the floor due to impact of the ball hitting my face. Hard.

Shit.

I open my eyes and I see Coach Jerry and some other students had noticed and were running towards me.

Black, red, and yellow dots dance in my vision before I slowly give in to the darkness and close my eyes.

"Baby, why are we even waiting for this girl? Let's go."

"You go, if you want to Liv. I am going to stay until she wakes up."

"But why!? I think she is dead. You don't even know her! Do you like her? Are you cheating on me? You f- "

"Can you both please shut the fuck up and just leave? This was my fault - so I am going to stay. You two leave."

"All three of you can leave - I am the best friend here so scram."

"No, I want to stay. Liv you can leave."

"But I didn't bring my car! I came in yours and all my friends have already left for home. How the fuck am I supposed to get home?"

"Our house is hardly ten minutes away by car. You'll reach in twenty minutes if you walk. Now go away Olivia."

I open my eyes slowly. Olivia, Ryder, Wyatt and Reece are sitting around me. Reece is glaring at Olivia - Olivia is glaring at Ryder - Ryder is glaring at Wyatt.

Wyatt is the first one to notice me. He silently pours me a glass of water and hands it to me. I thank him in my head and slurp down the water greedily.

"How is your head?" Wyatt asks me.

"Fine." I murmur even though there is a slight buzzing in my head.

"See, she's absolutely fine! We wasted hours on her. Now come on - take me home."

I wince at Olivia's nasally voice and Wyatt sure notices.

"Get Olivia home, okay? I have to meet the Principal or I would take her myself." Wyatt says.

Oh did I mention - Olivia and Wyatt are siblings.

Ryder nods and flashing me a smile, he wraps an around his girlfriend and leaves the room.

"How long have I been out?"

"Two hours." Reece speaks up.

"Shit! I didn't call Jenny to pick me up. She would've left for her job by now." I groan.

Reece looks at me apologetically. "I would totally drop you home but I have chess class. Sorry." She frowns.

"Don't worry-I can drop her home." Wyatt says without a smile.

"Don't use your phone too much for atleast three days so we can be sure that it's not a concussion. No coffee. And lots of fruits and veggies. And ice your head every three hours. And I am giving you some painkillers." Nurse Lily says handing me some pills and Wyatt takes it before I could.

"Bye, I gotta go. I'll call you tonight." Reece says and gives me a hug making sure to not touch my head and hands me my school bag.

"Come on," Wyatt says stuffing the pills into his school bag. Without waiting for me, he starts walking out.

Huh. Fine.

I step out of the bed and take slow steps towards the door.

Shit, my head is spinning.

Wyatt turns to look at me and rolls his eyes.

"Can you stop being so dramatic? I am pretty sure you just hurt your head and didn't break your legs."

I roll my eyes and start walking slowly.

Fuck, the world is spinning.

He rolls his eyes and walks towards me. Standing in front of me-he bends down and lifts me up.

Eeeep!

By the time my brain cooperates and allows me to talk we are already outside. He opens the door of his BMW with his leg and sits me down in the passenger seat at the back

"What're you doing?!" I get comfortable in the seats.

"What did you think? That I was going to wait for a million years so you could walk at your snail's pace? Now, shut up and stop asking questions." He says getting into his seat, ready to drive.

So now the only guy I ever liked doesn't like me either

FML.

"You know what? You don't have to do this- I am not a charity case. Fuck you. I can get home on my own." I fire and get out of the car and start walking with my bag on my shoulder.

Assholes.

"Hey! Wait!" He yell out but I don't bother turning back. Of course I can't like him.

It's going to take atleast forty minutes for me to reach back to Jenny's house. I start walking slowly ans see if Wyatt comes following me - apologising and asking to drop me home like in those teen fiction novels. But, NO. That doesn't happen.

I am counting the no. of steps I walk. It's two thousand one hundred twenty. And am only half way there.

Am I supposed to take a right here? Or was that a left? Oh god.

I am going left.

After a couple more minutes - I am sure. I am lost. And it's almost seven o' clock and there is no light.

A rustling sound enters my ears and I frown trying to walk faster with my head spinning.

Shit. My life ends here.
