Chapter 12
CHEAPER BY THE COUSIN
There's two men wandering around Paris this morning feeling a little worse for wear, why you ask? Because France's most handsome cousins were out and about last night at the newest hotspot in town 'Mirac-liquor' ran by none other than Sabrina Raincomprix, 24, daughter of Paris' ex-Lieutenant Roger Raincomprix. 45.
Adrien Agreste, 24, and cousin, Felix Graham de Vanily, 24, were seen hitting the dancefloor at the luxurious night spot, each drinking merrily and enjoying the scenery - a little too much.
Sources have told us Adrien and Sabrina are old school friends, and Adrien has been seen to visit the club often, making the most of the exquisite VIP options 'Mirac-liquor' offer. Onlookers have informed us that where Felix was spending the evening dancing and smooching with different girls, Adrien was seen playing wingman for his cousin, occupying 'the friend' whilst Felix made his move.
One girl who'd been fortunate enough to spend time with M. Agreste stated that '[Adrien] was lovely. He was everything the press have made him out to be; kind, caring, and extremely smart, he was a complete sweetheart. Adrien spent most of the evening talking about the love of his life and it made my heart melt. Adrien is so smitten and deeply in love it gave me hope there was a guy out there that would one day treat me the same.'
Adrien hasn't been spotted much recently with his wife, Vivica Agreste, 23, but we're glad to know the fire is still burning strong between them, afterall, they're France's #couplegoals. With Adrien spending the evening in the club alone our thoughts run to the recent rumour regarding mini Agreste, thinking now is more than likely a fact than fiction.
Vivica recently took part in a photoshoot for 'Gucci' where the photographer named her performance as 'sluggish' and 'explosive', it seemed our sweetheart has an issue with cheesy Doritos, sending the packets flying from the fourth floor window and onto the passers by down below. Sure signs of a newly pregnant and hormonal mother to be.
With Adrien working away a lot over the next few months on the latest 'Legal Blue' instalment, we hope our top fashion model is getting all the rest she needs because as soon as those tiny feet appear there will be no time for living the high life.
In addition, Agreste's close family friend Kagami Tsuragi, 26, has been making plans to return to Paris as her recent painting 'The Cat in an Ocean of Blue' has been selected by the Louvre to join their modern art exhibit. We can't wait to see the unveiling, and our reporter Alya Cèsaire will be there to cover the event.

"Now are you sure you don't mind me using your apartment whilst you're away? I feel like I'm invading your privacy."
"Of course not, plus when I'm back we can hang out like in the olden days. I've heard that the anime you like has a movie coming out so we can grab some popcorn and watch it."
"You know I don't do popcorn, Adrien. But I will enjoy spending the evening with you."
Adrien was currently running around his room like a crazy man. Gorilla was coming to pick him up in thirty minutes to take him to the airport and he had nothing prepared or packed. He wouldn't need to take too much with him as he was only away one night but still, this was incredibly last minute by his standards.
Félix had managed to persuade Adrien to go out on the town last night after discussing the next step in their plan. It seemed Gabriel's current decline was a need for celebration and who was he to say no to his oh so helpful cousin.
They'd ventured out to Sabrina's bar, knowing she'd set them up in a quiet booth and give them some privacy, however, it seemed Félix's conquest for the evening was a lot more mouthy than she let on, many stories appearing were appearing in the local tabloids this morning but luckily Adrien was coming off like Prince Charming. He'd made a mental note to remain sober most of the night, afterall he didn't want anything Vivica could use against him. There was also the issue of Marinette, and knowing Alya worked for 'Mode Mania' usually meant Marinette would know what stories were being printed. He was working so hard to keep her that the thought of losing her again stung like hell.
When he'd read the article he didn't know how to feel. Of course, he was happy he'd been portrayed as the love sick fool, though the link to Vivica and the imaginary baby made his skin crawl. He wanted to put it straight, he wanted to settle the score and let the world know that a. Adrien and Vivica were no longer together and hadn't been for a while, hell, if he wanted to go all out he'd tell everyone it was an arranged marriage forged with blackmail and incriminating information or b. There would never be a baby Agreste from Vivica, he wouldn't place his intimate parts within a ten foot distance of her, let alone conceive a baby.
"Are you excited about exhibiting? I know it's a huge deal for you." Kagami had been working hard on her art since cutting ties with her mother two years ago. It seemed watching Adrien 'waste his life' made Kagami realise she didn't want the same thing to happen to her. She took pleasure in telling Adrien she had the balls which he lacked.
"I would be if my mother would come, you know how she is though. She still won't give me the time of day"
Adrien sighed. Tomoe Tsurugi was as good a parent as Gabriel ... in other words she was shit. Adrien and Kagami had taken solace in the way they were treated, which became the basis of their very brief relationship back when they were 14. Though it ended quite horrendously, they'd eventually worked it out, and now she was definitely in the top five of his friends list. He'd do anything for her.
"I'll be there, I've made sure I have the day off to come and support you. I'm excited."
"Thank you Adrien, that means a lot to me. Now formalities are over I want to know why you and Marinette were swimming together in the Seine. I didn't think you were speaking to each other."
Nothing could get past Kagami, and he couldn't help but smile. She was so to the point he'd usually get whiplash from the way the conversation would twist and turn.
"We bumped into each other at a bar a week or so ago," Adrien screwed his eyebrows together, had it seriously only been that long? "And it seems we just keep veering in the same direction. I saw her at Kim's wedding, the Seine fiasco, then we met up at the cinema, and then she came to mine the other evening. To be honest, if I didn't know better I'd say she was stalking me." Adrien let out a laugh, only to be met with a blowing tumbleweed on the other side of the phone line.
"With Marinette, she just might be."
Adrien didn't dig any deeper, he hadn't got time, but that little nugget of information was placed in storage ready to delve into at some point.
"As pleasant as this conversation is, I need to get going, Kagami. My flight is in just over three hours and I need to get to the airport," he looked around at the mess on his bed, "and finish packing." Perhaps going out with Félix last night hadn't been in his best interests. The piles upon piles of clothing currently taking over his bed proving why.
"Go if you must, but I wanted to inform you Marinette will be at the unveiling of my piece, so I'm glad to hear you're on good terms."
With a more formal goodbye, and a promise to speak again soon, Adrien ended the call, throwing his phone down on the bed. He needed to get a move on, quickly.
•••••
Marinette twisted her hand as she watched the glitter sparkle under her bedroom lights. Thank God Alya was free this afternoon to come and help the monstrosity of her nails. Her wonderful friend had done the incredible by changing a chipped hazard into a steel grey with a glitter overlay, perfect for her new job as Adrien's dresser. She was still trying to understand what had possessed her to accept it, that was until she remembered her most recent conversation with Chat Noir.
'I want to quit, I just wish I had another job to fall into. I feel like my old hopes and dreams are starting to flood back'
This might not be the award winning designing job she craved for her future, but it was a step in the right direction. A step where she could stick a foot in the door and make herself known. She wasn't 100 percent sure what being a dresser would entail, but she was hoping it was literally getting Adrien dressed and checking his outfit. She knew she kept joking about being his fluffer, but she wasn't going to lie, she was slightly scared about 'viewing' things in that area.
"What do you think?" Alya said, packing away her gel supplies.
"I love them, they should last well into the weekend as well, thank you, Alya." Marinette wrapped her arms around her friend in a hug of gratitude when a sudden movement took her by surprise.
Marinette could feel Alya's shoulders begin to move her up and down, the tell tale signs of crying.
"Alya?" Marinette asked, gripping her friend tighter. "Al, what's wrong?"
A sniffing sound caused Marinette to move away, Alya promptly using the back of her hand to wipe under her nose. She watched her friend, her eyes questioning the sudden change of mood.
When Alya had arrived at Marinette's apartment earlier that day she was the bright bubbly girl Marinette knew and loved. However, around the time of her second coat of gel Alya's mood had abruptly changed. No longer was she full of life, quizzing Marinette about the movie, but instead she was broken and defeated.
"Al, please, talk to me." Marinette tried again, more gentle this time, with the hope of pulling out the feelings within her friend.
"It's Nino." Alya stated. Marinette reached out to grab her friend's hand.
"What has the prick done this time?" She could feel the anger raging through her body. What she wouldn't give to kick the dudes ass!
Alya pulled out her phone and opened Nino's Instagram account. Gasping in complete and utter shock, Marinette felt like crying alongside her friend. How could he do this? What was wrong with the guy?
Marinette pulled her friend into her arms again, shushing her as the tears continued to flow. Nino was a douche of the highest order, and it was taking everything in Marinette's power to not transform and go kick his ass, or at least cause him minor harm.
Pulling away, Marinette took the phone from Alya's hand and looked at the post again.
'Together again. I've missed this woman so much!'
The caption was set underneath a picture which made Marinette's skin crawl. Nino was fast asleep in bed, his bare chest on show and clothless leg hooked over the covers. Marinette scowled as she looked at Frankie's face as she lay next to him, a huge smile and pink flushed cheeks, flushed cheeks very similar to those of a girl who'd just gotten laid.
"I can't believe him! After everything you spoke to him about? How could he?"
Before Alya could reply she launched to her feet and ran to Marinette's bathroom, emptying the contents of her stomach into the toilet bowl. The retching sounds did nothing for the sick feeling in her own stomach, and as she went to console her friend she had to make sure she took calm steady breaths, opening the window and crouching to rub her friends back.
"It's okay, Alya. I'm here. I will make sure he never hurts you again."
Alya continued throwing the contents of her stomach into the toilet, unable to calm herself enough to talk. They must have been there for 15 minutes before Alya sat back against the wall, face coated in a sheet of sweat, and looking more pale than Marinette's white marbleized tiles.
"I'm in deep shit Mari," Alya began to croak out. Her throat obviously hoarse from the recent activity.
"What do you mean?" Marinette asked, moving closer and sitting next to her best friend.
Tikki suddenly appeared with Trixx close behind, a glass of water from the Goddess of Creation and a plain digestive biscuit from the God of Illusion. A nod of thanks passed from Alya to the kwamis as she took a sip of water and bit off a tiny piece of biscuit.
Closing her eyes and letting her head fall back against the tiles, Alya sighed and began her story. "I know it's too early to tell, but when I was with Nino at Kim's wedding we kind of got caught up in the moment."
"You can say that again," Marinette snorted, "anyone who walked past the cupboard could hear you getting 'carried away'." She nudged her shoulder against her friend's, emitting a short, sharp laugh from Alya's throat.
"We didn't use protection, Marinette. I was going to get the morning after pill the next day but with work and then your deep river adventure I kind of forgot, and before I knew it I was past the 72 hours mark to use the morning after pill."
A gasp left Marinette's lips and she covered her mouth. "Do you mean?" Marinette didn't know how to phrase it, but she knew she was worried for her friend. "Do you think you might be?" She turned her head to Alya, and watched as her friend nodded in slow motion.
"Like I say, it's early days and I won't find out for certain for at least another two weeks, but Marinette I'm scared. I'm so scared. You know I didn't want kids until I was at least 30, I'm 24 for crying out loud and Nino ..." she scoffed, "well I don't need to say more about that do I." She took her phone out of Marinette's grasp and waved it in front of them. The raven haired beauty not even realising she still possessed said object.
"Have you spoken to him about it?"
Alya shook her head, causing Marinette to wince. This was a mess, a very, very big mess. Marinette knew Alya's dream was to have a family with Nino, a baby out of wedlock was not part of the plan, damn they weren't even in a solid relationship, they weren't in any relationship. Alya was a career girl, she wanted to make it before settling down. A reliable job and a husband to boot ... not a fling with an ex boyfriend, who apparently was playing a harsh game, and a job with a busy body tabloid. She knew that Alya would be considering this as a failure in life.
"No, at the moment there's nothing really to say."
"Nothing really to say? You're kidding right? You might be carrying his child but there's nothing really to say?"
"I don't want to bring up this shit for it to not be true. I would be as bad as the hussy he's fucking at the moment. He'd probably think I was trying to trap him. No offence meant."
Marinette laughed, at least Alya could still joke. The day that skill disappeared would be a day she sought additional help for her friend, as long as Alya could joke she was still her. "No offence taken. But promise me as soon as it's your period day, take a test."
"Oh believe me I will," Alya wrapped Marinette in a tight hug, squeezing the air out of the smaller girl's lungs. "Thank you for always being there for me."
"You'd do the same for me," Marinette said, standing and making her way back out into the lounge, Alya following closely behind. Marinette grabbed the handle on her case and rolled it closer to the door. She pressed the button on her phone and noticed Adrien would be here very, very soon. The excitement was slowly being replaced by stomach churning nerves. Could she do this?
"Stop over thinking. Only I get to do that at the moment." Alya looked judgmentally at her friend causing Marinette to cower back a little.
"I wouldn't be me if I wasn't catastrophizing about something."
"Talking about cat's, how did your kitty take you going away?" Marinette rolled her eyes at her best friend.
"Nothing drags you down for long does it?" One thing Marinette had always been in awe of was Alya's bounce back ability. If it wasn't for the red puffy eyes you wouldn't know anything was wrong with her.
"Marinette, you're in like the juiciest love triangle I've ever known and I work in tabloid journalism."
Letting out a sigh, Marinette began to pick up the used cotton wool off the table and place them in the bin. If her hands were kept busy there would be less chance of her strangling her friend.
"I'm not in a love triangle. I'm not even in a love line. There is no love."
"Yeah, yeah," Alya came alongside her, grabbing their used mugs to wash up in the sink. "Nothing's wrong with having a little bit of love, Marinette."
"You know it's not that simple for me, that if it was I would probably be married now and making babies as we speak."
"Plural?"
"Totally."
The girls laughed and continued moving around the room. "Besides," Marinette continued, "Chat Noir and I are content with our relationship. Even though we're not together it's warm and comfortable and safe, and I don't want to ruin it by putting either of us in an awkward position. Plus with the butterfly Miraculous still missing, I can't take the risk."
"Is that why you're always wearing the necklace from him then? To remind yourself you don't love him?"
Marinette reached up to stroke the chain hanging around her neck, pulling the diamond from her cleavage and pressing it to her lips. The raised eye from her friend soon made her tuck it away and concentrate on what she was doing.
"Alya, don't!"
"Fine, I'll leave it" Alya began to mess around with a couple of things on Marinette's desk, "And what about Adrien?" Her friends' wiggling eyebrows didn't pass without notice. The truth was she didn't know about Adrien, it was all so complicated. One minute she wanted to be with him again, and kiss him senseless, the next she hated his guts and wanted nothing to do with him, then there was the whole Vivica mess, plus her feelings for Chat Noir. Geez, when did her life get so complicated.
"Can I ask the audience?" Marinette said, a slight wince on her face.
"If you wait until Saturday then yes, I'm sure the class would like to butt in on your relationship with Adrien."
"Or you could ask the kwamis?" Tikki appeared by Marinette's side. They hadn't been on the best of terms recently, not with Tikki's constant nagging to allow Adrien to speak and tell his side of the story. Her kwami still didn't seem to understand how hurt she was by Adrien's actions, that by talking about it reopens a wound she'd spent years trying to close.
"Don't start, Tikki, please. I don't want to be grumpy with you anymore, but I need to decide this whole Adrien mess out for myself."
"Is it that bad?" Alya asked, grabbing her jacket from the back of her chair and placing her arms through it before pulling her hair from the collar.
"You have no idea," she sighed out. "My brain turns to mush at the moment when I think about him. I'm like a walking contradiction with him and his 'Adrien-ness' making it hard for me to keep myself in check."
"Have some fun girl. You're only young once."
"Alya," Marinette warned. Her friend knew that she couldn't just 'have some fun' with Adrien, although the temptation to see him naked again was a very strong one, it would open a can of worms that she just wasn't willing to deal with. Maybe once he's divorced and this whole 'honey trap' thing passes, but not now. There was too much at stake - for both of them.
"I know, I know! But once Viv the Div's out the way, perhaps you two could have some funky time? I'm sure the sexual tension is insane and you already know he's dynamite in bed. Just think, you're older now he's probably only gotten better with age."
"He's not a fine wine, Alya."
"How would you know? You haven't had a taste." She dropped Marinette a wink before throwing her head back in a chaotic laugh. Marinette made a mental note to ask Chat Noir to borrow Plagg for a day so he and Alya could go and let loose. Of course she would follow closely behind ready to fix any of their messes.
"Get out!" Marinette said, opening the door and pointing her friend in the direction of it. She refused to look at Alya, instead turning her head away from the exit and to face the wall.
"Wow, women usually give me at least half an hour before they throw me out."
Marinette felt her heart squeeze recognising the voice, before catching the stupidly devilish stare on her friends face. Turning slowly to her now open down she came face to face with her boy toy for the next day, and he looked hotter than Hades in his smart but casual get up.
This was a bad idea.
•••••
Adrien had reached Marinette's apartment block at the same time as someone was leaving. Placing on his best model smile he convinced them to leave the door open for him granting him access to Marinette's floor. Flattery and a pretty face got him a long way, which made him worry about where Marinette was living.
She was a young attractive girl and it seemed if you flashed the right kind of smile you could just get into the building without anyone asking for confirmation. He made a mental note to talk to Marinette about that at some point. He was sure if she wasn't earning enough money now to move somewhere safer then with the movie she'd have a rather decent income and could find somewhere better.
As Adrien reached the door to Marinette's apartment the sound of voices halted his movements and stopped him from knocking. He didn't want to eavesdrop, but with the level of their voices anyone walking past would be able to hear the girl's conversation and to be honest he was slightly curious.
You haven't had a taste."
He couldn't help the smirk appear on his face. Using one hand he rubbed his mouth trying to remove it before knocking on the door. Fine wine indeed.
Raising one hand, he fisted it and went to knock gently on the door when much to his surprise the door flung open with enough force to rip the damn thing off the hinges.
"Get out!" Marinette's voice was venom, obviously aimed at their friend, who was currently stifling a laugh as her eyes met Adrien's.
"Wow, women usually give me at least half an hour before they throw me out."
Marinette's head snapped around so sharply he was worried she'd given herself whiplash. Her cheeks had turned that wonderful rosy glow and her blue eyes widened in shock. The only distraction being Alya's loud cackle as she walked closer.
"Have a wonderful time guys." She kissed Marinette on the cheek before patting Adrien on the shoulder and heading for the stairs, one last blast of laughter filling the air as she made her escape.
"Adrien? You're early?" Marinette breathed out, her voice would surely come back and haunt his dreams. Husky and out of breath, the perfect combination.
"I was excited to see you." Her cheeks took on a life of their own changing from pink to a light red. Something about making her blush gave him a thrill.
"Flattery will get you everywhere Mr. Agreste."
He chuckled and walked into the apartment, turning back to watch her close the door behind him.
"I'm almost ready," she continued, "there's just a couple of things I need to get from my room and then we can go."
As Marinette exited into a door near the end of her hallway, Adrien took the chance to be nosey. He made his way to the bookcase looking at pictures she'd framed and placed in reminiscence of her life.
Her and the girls.
Her with Luka and Jagged.
Her and some of the other guys from their class.
Kagami.
Her parents.
Everyone really, except him.
With a regretful sigh he continued to look at the books on her case. A few romantic novels, the Harry Potter series, Twilight, Fifty Shades of Grey plus the spin off book, and enough murder mysteries to kill someone without a trace. Finally he stopped at a few Chinese and Mandarin for beginners books and immediately got pulled into a memory of their time in Shanghai. He'd promised to teach her when they returned home, yet that had become just another empty promise. Another item on the list of things that they didn't do. How she hadn't cut ties with him already was beyond him? He really had a lot to make up for.
"I'm ready."
Her sweet voice pulled his attention as she came back with a dark red leather jacket hung over her arm. She looked more beautiful by the day and his heart was making sure he knew that. Shaking his head and moving back towards her, he looked at the phone and camera which obviously linked to the front door of the apartment block. He watched again as someone leaving just let another enter from the streets.
"How secure is this apartment block? I managed to get in here with a quick smile and a wink."
"It's one of the most secure in the area, believe me I wouldn't put myself in harm's way." Marinette continued grabbing her things together, before placing on her jacket and going to pull her hair out the collar.
Adrien stepped forward, guiding his cool hands over her own and scooping the hair out himself. The silk strands glided over his fingers and dropped down the back of her neck as he marvelled in the feeling, finding it hard to deny the urge soaring through him. The urge to twist it around his fist and pull her head close to his own.
Moving his hands back around the front of his face, he dragged his thumbs across her cheek bones, trailing them up at the edges of her eyes before swallowing down the lump of desire which had suddenly formed in his throat.
He turned his head, moving his eyes away from hers as the intent to kiss her hit him strong. She looked gorgeous again today and his heart was doing a great job at betraying the calm, carefree attitude he was trying to display around her. He wanted her, it was a fact, but she was right, he was still married and he wouldn't put Marinette in the position where she felt uncomfortable. He just hoped she felt the same way, and once the divorce was finalised they could try again. After he'd explained everything that was.
God there was so much to explain.
He watched her eyebrows frown together and took a step back. He wasn't sure if he'd overstepped the mark getting into her personal space or if she was thinking about something else, but he wanted to know. He wanted to know everything about her.
"I know you can take care of yourself, but how secure is it if someone can just flash a smile and get in?" He couldn't stop himself from talking. He wasn't quite sure what he wanted from this conversation but he couldn't seem to talk about anything else.
"Adrien," she stepped forward and placed her hands on his chest, her voice soft as though she was talking to a distraught toddler, "I'm fine. This building is fine. I promise." A flicker shone over her eyes and he wasn't sure whether she was placating him or herself.
He looked her over and nodded. If she believed that then he'd let her. Although, that didn't mean a certain 'superstud' couldn't come by and check in every now and then, or nightly.
Moving towards the doorway, Adrien grabbed her pretty pink carry on and moved so she could close and lock up her 'safe' apartment. He watched as the door closed and a key was placed in a simple lock. Perhaps he could hire someone to come and fit a more sturdy door, with at least ten locks ... no twenty, twenty seemed more viable.
"What are you thinking about?" Marinette giggled as she came closer to Adrien, looking up at him with a glint in her eyes.
"Just about how lovely you look today."
Marinette scoffed and nudged her shoulder against his arm. "Yeah, yeah. I'll only believe you because it makes me feel good."
"I can tell you more if you want me to?" He replied.
"Carry on superstar." He grinned at the term of endearment. He liked it when she teased him.
"I spoke to Kagami today, I hear you're coming to her big debut at the Louvre."
"Of course," Marinette opened the main doorway to the apartment block, allowing Adrien to exit with her case first. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
A woman walked towards her that she'd never seen before and passed through the door. He watched her face morph into one of surprise then bewilderment, and he was desperate to say he told her so however this was not the time to glote.
"She's staying with me for a couple of days. You should come over, we can order take out."
"That would be nice. I miss Kagami a lot. I went to see her last year and spent some time with her and her fiancée." This was a shock to Adrien. He spoke to Kagami at least once a week yet she'd never mentioned having Marinette there. He opened the trunk of the car and placed her case inside before moving to open the door for her. Gorilla made to get out of the car and help but Adrien held a hand up telling him to remain inside. With a grunt the big guy clambered back in.
"Oh, I didn't know."
Marinette laughed, "why would you? Kagami knew we weren't talking and I didn't want any information passed onto you."
Adrien's stomach dropped. He knew she wouldn't be happy with what happened but to go as far as actively blocking any information getting to him hurt. He tried to place a smile on his face as he helped her into the car, knowing full well 'making up' wasn't going to be as easy as he thought.
He was just lucky he had one last ace up his sleeve, he just had to make sure he didn't play it too early.
•••••
As Adrien shut the door behind her she mentally kicked herself. What she'd just said came out oh so wrong and the forlorn look he'd given her kicked her straight in the gut. Where the facts of her comment were true, her delivery was far from ideal.
She glanced over as Adrien slid into the seat next to hers, a solemn look on his face. He gave her a quick look before he turned and glared out the window. An obvious attempt at ignoring her, and more than likely protecting his own feelings.
"So," she cleared her throat and pushed back the apprehension stilling like a boulder in her stomach, "what is it I'll actually be doing?"
"Excuse me?" Adrien turned his head to look at her, it seemed he'd been lost in his own thoughts.
"I was just wondering what I'll actually be doing." She threaded her fingers together and placed them in her lap, rubbing against her thumb in nervousness. Being this close to him without a means to escape was affecting her a lot more than expected, especially as the smell of his heavenly scent filled the immediate area, causing her head to spin and her chest to heat.
"Oh, it's quite simple really. They take a photo of me at the beginning of the first take and you need to make sure I look exactly the same everytime we reshoot the scene. So if I take my jacket off, you'll put it back on me exactly as it started, that way it always keeps continuity during the reshoots."
Marinette nodded. "Seems simple enough."
"It is, just a little hands on."
"A little?" She raised an eyebrow to go with her smile. He smiled back at her and she felt the boulder begin to crumble.
"Okay," he laughed, "a lot."
They both laughed before turning their attention out of their desired windows again. Marinette wanted to break the silence, but for some reason it was hard to think of what she could say. Her mind began to race through things such as game updates, the latest news articles, Kagami's show, Nino and Alya ... yet she couldn't think of anything to start the conversation.
"Have you ever been to Prague before?" Adrien asked. She turned her head and looked at him, he was a reflection of exactly how she pictured herself at this moment ... desperate to start a conversation.
"No, this is my first time. You?"
"I've been a couple of times." He didn't expand on that answer and she was guessing the couple of times had included platinum Barbie. She didn't need or want to know about that. She nodded, taking the time to think of what to say next.
"Have any of the 'Legal Blue' movies been filmed in Prague before?"
"Not a clue, I've never really watched them. I'm more of an Ethan Hunt kind of guy, myself."
Marinette scoffed. "Mission Impossible? Really? I bet your director and producer would go ape-shit if they heard that."
He guffawed, "Most likely. Although the whole point of hiring me is to give it a new spin, make it more for our age group and younger, so maybe they weren't fans either."
She giggled and looked over at him, the tension and unfamiliarity lifting into something comfortable and nice.
"What time are we working tonight?"
"We start at eleven and have until four."
"In the morning? Woah woah woah! Nobody told me I wouldn't get any sleep."
Adrien laughed again, reaching out to tap her hand with his own.
"You can sleep once the shoot is done. It's only a five minute scene being filmed, if we can get it right then we could finish earlier."
"I hate you," Marinette huffed, looking out of her window. This was going to be a very long night.
