Elsa x Male Reader

This was something I wrote a pretty long time ago, but I was thinking about it and suddenly realized that it wasn't uploaded soooooo... here's a reupload.

-----

(Y/n) knocked on the closed and blocked window yet again, unsuspecting to gain a reply. He just did it to set up jokes.

"Knock knock," he recited, not expecting anything back. Until, he heard a beautiful voice call back to him.

"Who's there?" The voice asked.

"A little old lady," he stifled a chuckle.

"A little old lady who?" The woman on the other side sounded so genuinely surprised.

"Oh? You can yodel?" (Y/n) heard the woman giggle, then even snort, and she had to silence herself out of pure embarrassment.

Then there was another knock, but it wasn't (Y/n)'s knock.

"Knock knock," the woman called back.

"Who's there?" (Y/n) asked, as per procedure.

"Woo," she seemed to have some humor.

"Woo who?" (Y/n) grinned.

"It's just a joke, don't get so excited!" The woman's joke caused (Y/n) to howl with laughter.

So the two just kept on telling jokes. They both laughed like they'd never laughed before.

Eventually though, (Y/n) had to leave. He did still have responsibilities.

"Welp, I've gotta go. It was nice to meet ya," (Y/n) got up and stretched.

"You... you should come back., The voice hesitantly requested.

"Why wouldn't I? You're the best audience I've ever had," (Y/n) chuckled.

"I will happily await your arrival," The woman seemed happy.

So he did. With his little "shortcuts" he got to the window, and knocked.

Every. Single. Day.

One day though, she wasn't laughing as much.

"Hey, what happened to all ya laughter?" (Y/n) asked, leaning up against the window.

"I've been ignoring it every single day, but... how do you talk to me?" The woman asked. "You may know who I am, but just who are you?"

(Y/n) could hear her utter confusion.

"I'm just... a jokester with a special ability." (Y/n) shrugged.

"A special ability?" She asked.

"Yeah, it's kinda like that lady who there are rumors about. The attractive ice lady. Y'know who I'm talkin' about?" (Y/n) asked, unconsciously complimenting the woman behind the window. She was silent, so (Y/n) couldn't even imagine what she'd be been thinking.

"I actually came to this window hoping to meet her, just out of curiosity, but it's still great. After all, I found you," (Y/n) sighed. "I've heard that there'll be a coronation day. An event where the doors to the castle open." (Y/n) heard her tense up.

"But I won't be there. I'm not a... people person. But 'ey, we may just meet eventually," (Y/n) hoped she relaxed. He picked at his teeth with his nail before sighing.

"How about you, aren't you a maid or somethin'? Have you ever seen the pretty ice lady?" (Y/n) heard her hesitate, shifting around before replying.

"I have met her before. She wasn't a jokester though, not like you," The woman told (Y/n).

"Interestin'," (Y/n) hummed.

Silence hung for a second. Then two seconds. Then three.

"Can you promise me something, jokester?" The woman seemed to slouch against the window, (Y/n) could just feel her, even though they weren't touching.

"What is it, Lady?" (Y/n) asked.

"Show up to the coronation that's gonna happen soon. And before you say it's not your thing, don't talk to anyone, just... be there." The woman requested, borderline begged.

"I've told her about you. She was very hesitant at first, but she does want to meet you," the woman sighed, her voice waning.

"I know it's soon, but when exactly is the coronation?" (Y/n) queried, and heard the woman answer with an unhealthy amount of stress in her voice.

"It's... tomorrow. I have to go!" (Y/n) heard the woman scrambling around.

"I'll talk to ya later, Lady," (Y/n) gave her confirmation to leave, and he swore it suddenly got colder right before she left.

"Weird, it must be around that time of year," (Y/n) walked off towards who knows where, using one of his shortcuts to get down from where he certainly wasn't supposed to be.

-------

It was coronation day, and all groups of people arrived at the castle as soon as the gates were opened, but (Y/n) wasn't there.

The new Queen of Arendelle, Elsa, and her younger sister, Princess Anna, both were inside the filled ballroom.

"He didn't show up," Elsa couldn't help but mention it to herself, almost making sure she understood that he wasn't going to show up either.

"W-Who?" Anna pushed passed her nervousness, to try and communicate with her sister for the first time in ages.

"A man, or teen, but someone who was... uplifting," Elsa admitted a soft smile coming to her face.

"No way... so you were talking to someone!" Anna couldn't hold back her shock, which caused a few guests to look her way.

"All those days you were laughing, was because of him? Where is he?" Anna asked, but seeing Elsa's solemn face gave her an answer.

"He didn't show?! Oh I swear if I lay my hands on him I'll—!" Anna was so ready to defend her sister that it brought a smile to Elsa's face.

"Thank you, but it's alright. He even told me that he's not good with crowds. It's honestly a blessing I've been able to talk to him at all. He's special...." Elsa couldn't say 'like me' but she wanted to.

Eventually, Elsa had a fight with Anna and her ice abilities were exposed to the kingdom of Arendalle. She left, fled, to nearby mountains and that's where she made an ice castle.

She embraced her ice abilities, bringing herself to new heights. She was finally satisfied, and as she was walking away, a faint thought of the Jokester passed through her mind.

"I guess he saw me," Elsa didn't dare to feel too bad, only slightly disappointed.

Then, she heard two alarming knocks, followed by a familiar voice.

"Knock knock." She heard.

"Who's there?" She couldn't stop her excitement from showing.

"Nobel," The voice sounded like he had a smile on his face.

"Nobel who?" Elsa asked, walking closer and closer towards the door, a smile getting wider and wider on her face.

"No bell, that's why I knocked!" The voice howled with laughter, and the bad joke alongside his laughter caused Elsa to laugh as well.

"So... you're the queen? I never expected it," (Y/n) and Elsa had a single door in between them, and they had never felt so close.

"How did you find me? I don't even know exactly where we are," Elsa asked.

"Well... I already told you, I'm... special. You have ice, I have my shortcuts and a few other small things," (Y/n) answered vaguely.

"So... Miss Elsa, let's talk," (Y/n) slid up against her door, the cold not affecting him at all.

"Yeah... but firstly, what's your name, since you know mine." Elsa asked.

"Hmm..." (Y/n) knocked twice.

"Knock knock," He said.

"Who's there?" Elsa asked, a smile on her face as her blue eyes shimmered.

"Ice." (Y/n) replied.

"Ice who?"

"It's nICE to meet you! I'm (Y/n)," He introduced himself, making a pun in the process.

"Well (Y/n), let's talk," Elsa slumped against her door, happy that no matter what, it seemed like (Y/n) was still gonna be right there.

"Let's not rush, we've got time," (Y/n) reassured Elsa. "We've got plenty of time."
