Hermione pov

I couldn't get Nathens story out of my head as we walked to the lunch room. I kept looking over at him, my jealousy for fleur disappeared and was replaced with guilt. "Nathen can I ask you something?" I asked as we stopped. Ron and Harry were in front of us but stopped too. Nathen looked at me with a curious glance.

"Yeah of course." He said with kindness as I sighed a bit uncomfortable. "What's up?"

"Why are you at Hogwarts?" I asked with wonder as I saw Harry and Ron looked to one another. I looked at them and they looked everywhere else.

"To turn over a new leaf." He said with unnatural confidence. His eyes were red from holding back tears. If he weren't just crying I would have probably believed him. But his eyes betrayed him.

"Why are you really here?" I asked as he sighed looking down before doing something unexpected. He pulled out a small metal ball and threw it on the ground surrounding the area in blinding white smoke. I coughed waving the smoke out of my face as I heard footsteps run off. I tried to follow, but only bumped into Harry and Ron who were coughing as well. When the smoke cleared Nathen was gone. "That's pompous ass." I mutter under my breathe as I glared in the direction I thought Nathen went. Ron, Harry and I walked into the great hall and sat at the Gryffindor table with my arms crossed showing I was in a very irritating mood. I didn't pay attention to anyone as I ate my food. I saw the weasly twins with mischievous grins on their face while talking to Ron.

"So you're saying he has smoke bombs?" Fred and George both asked at the same time. Ron nodded before looking at Harry. "You still got that map right Harry?" Harry nodded and pulled it out. "Mind if we borrow it?" Harry handed it too them and the twins ran off with the map.

"Why did you do that Harry?" I asked irritated.

"They obviously wanted to talk to about something." Harry said turning to his food as I shook my head at him. I couldn't help but still think about Nathen and his story.

Nathen pov.

I sat on a stump in the forbidden forest after sprinting there. I knew it was one place that almost no one would be able to find me. I sighed thinking about Rose. I never got over it. Her screams still haunt me to this day. Countless nights of sleep lost because of it. I wasn't paying attention to anything when I heard a rustling in the leaves around me. I looked down and saw a leaf moving fast towards my foot. Before I could understand what it was a lizard jumped and landed on my shoe.

"Oh hello there little guy." I say picking it up in my hand. It squirmed slightly before laying down. "Or are you a girl?" I asked as it didn't respond. "Well whatever your gender is your still pretty cute." I say with laughter before stroking its scales. It was at least the size of my palm. Without warning it ran up my arm and into my robes sitting on my shoulder under the fabric. I was about to investigate, but was interrupted before I could.

"Well mate. What are you doing out here?" One of the weasly twins asked as I turned around on the stump.

"Especially since it's the forbidden forest." The other weasly stated as they walked to me with grins.

"Just looking for some privacy." I say truthfully as they nodded.

"Well now that we're all here." The weasly twins then started to finish each other's sentences.

"We were wondering-"

"-If you want to try out our products." They said with grins. I chuckled feeling the lizard laying and curling up on my shoulder.

"Depends. What are the products?" I asked as they pulled out there wands. They said accio product. Flying in behind them was 2 boxes with their symbols on them. "I think we'll have some fun." I say as we started doing test and stuff.

Fleur pov.

I walked around Hogwarts looking for Nathen wondering where he was. My friends said that he sprinted off into the forbidden forest so I made my way there. As i got to the bridge connecting the forest to the school grounds I saw 2 red head boys that were identical walking beside Nathen. There was a small lump on his right shoulder but I ignored it as he sent me a smile. I smiled back and ran up to him hugging and kissing him. The 2 red head boys shook their heads in jealousy before I pulled out and looked at him. "I vas vorried about you vhen my friends told me about you running off." I say as he sighed.

"Sorry about that I had to get away from people for awhile when these 2 found me." Nathen said pointing at the 2 boys who nodded at the same time. "I'm fine Fleur I promise." He said before he kissed me on the lips making me smile.

"Very vell. Just try not running off again." I saw sternly as he laughed a bit.

"Yes ma'am." He said putting in a bit of a cowboy accent on it. I laughed at him before I saw the lump on his shoulder moving. I was about to ask about it when a little monster crawled out onto his shoulder. I screamed startled as the monster darted over his skin and up into his hair hiding. "Woah calm down what is it?" He asked confused.

"Thare is a dragon lizard on you!" I say frantically as a puff of smoke went into the air.

"Oh that little guy. He's fine. Came crawling right up onto me and fell asleep." Nathen said as the weasly twins looked down on the top 9f his head. "Besides I need an animal companion for transfiguration class." e said as I tried calming down.

"Ve careful vhen handling the creature. He can ve very dangerous." He nodded and we walked back into Hogwarts.
