This imagine was requested by @rima_peanutbutter; Imagine Thorin kills you when he has the Gold Sickness, because he thinks you stole his gold.
You were hiding behind Dwalin when Thorin came storming at you. He had that same look in his eyes he had for the last two days. He didn't sleep, he didn't eat, he was only looking for the Arkenstone. Nothing else could get into his thick skull at this moment. He was glaring at his kin, wondering if they were keeping the stone from him. Because that was all it was. A stone. For a long time you wondered if you just didn't get it. You were human after all. How could you see the value of a stone? But then you had seen the look in the eyes of the other dwarves. They were still thinking straight and worried about their leider too.
It wasn't just you. Even Bilbo had told you about his worries for the King. You had already seen the changes in Thorin a few months back. He cared less about his company the closer you got to the mountain. He had even left his own nephew back in Lake Town because he would slow them down. You had tried to convince yourself that Thorin had made the right decision. He was a king after all and he needed to complete this quest. But even Balin had frowned upon his decision. You couldn't deny it any longer. The King had changed. And not for the better.
Now, he came storming at you for whatever reason. Only Dwalin was brave enough to block the King's way to you. 'Out of my way' Thorin bellowed. Dwalin took only a small step back but it was enough for Thorin to realize he could get to you. The other dwarf would be no problem. Thorin stopped when their noses touched. You didn't want to be in Dwalin's boots right now. 'If you protect the one who stole from me, then I will treat you like a thief as well' he threatened. Dwalin's shoulders sank slowly. You frowned behind his back. Had you stolen something from him?
'The lass stole nothing from you, my King' Balin started. Thorin turned his head slowly. His eyes had gone pitch black and his mouth was nothing more then a thin line. 'You dare to speak up to your King?' he hissed. The white haired dwarf swallowed deeply but wasn't ready to back down. 'Aye. No one hear would steal from you, why would we? We have followed you all the way from Ered Luin.' Thorin snorted. 'Don't talk to me like none of you came here for the gold that was promised to you.' He let his eyes wander over every member of the Company. They couldn't look him in the eyes. Only Bilbo didn't look down. '(Y/N) stole from me. And I will punish every thief' he said, his voice in an unnatural tone.
Before Dwalin could react, Thorin grabbed your wrist and pulled you away behind his back. The dwarf tried to reach for your other hand but it was too late. Thorin pulled you with him as he stormed through the halls of his ancestors. The others tried to follow you but they didn't know every secret path that the King knew. 'I never thought you would steal from me, (y/n). But it are always the silent ones. Who steal from you. Betray you!' You silently wept as he dragged you to Mahal knows where. You could barely keep up with him but he wouldn't slow down. He had to take care of you right now.
Otherwise the others may think they would get away with it too. After what felt like hours to you but was only a half hour in reality, you reached the lower levels of the mountain. 'Where are we?' you said, your voice thick. Thorin didn't react. Your eyes had adjusted to the dark so you could see where you were. There were cells all around you. They were everywhere you looked. 'Thorin? I didn't steal anything from you! You can check my pockets and look beneath my sleeping bag! Thorin!' you screamed but he still didn't listen to you. You tried to escape from his firm hold but it only made him tighten his hold. 'You are hurting me. Stop it!' you screamed. To no avail.
The King you once knew was lost. You finally reached the end of the hall where there was a large cell with a door instead of bars. The door only had a small opening in the middle from where you could look into the hall. The dwarves used it for the worst criminals, Balin had informed you. Without a word, Thorin opened the door and threw you inside of it. You landed on your hands and knees when you heard the door shut behind you. 'No, no! Thorin don't! I didn't do anything!' you screamed. You got up from the floor and tried to push the door back open. 'Thorin!' you yelled again.
You were so afraid of the dark, and he knew it. That was probably the reason why he had chosen this cell. He looked at you from the small opening in the door. 'I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. You will stay here, alone, and die. There is no better faith for a thief. You should have thought about the consequences before you stole from me.' Thorin turned around and left the hall to keep looking for his Arkenstone. You had been in his way and stolen precious time from him, that wouldn't happen again. Now he just had to find the gold you had stolen from him.
