This imagine was requested by emwillen ; You sit in your room when you see a spider. Thorin goes ahead and kills it, but thinks you shouldn't make a big deal about it. Then, the memories start to come back...
'MURDER! FIRE! HELP! MAHAL SAVE ME! THORIN! I'M DYING!' you screamed at the top of your lungs. You were standing on top of your writer's chair as you watched the murderer walking right at you. 'Ahhhhhhhh!' you yelled. Why did he have to be dressed in all black? A few colors wouldn't hurt him and would make it less creepy. '(Y/N)!' Thorin yelles as he ran as fast as he could. Several guards followed him, storming into your room.
All the dwarves held a weapon in hand. Some had axes, most held swords. They were standing in a circle around you. They would give their lives to protect their Queen. 'Where is the vile creature who dared to hurt my ghivashel?' Thorin bellowed as he scanned the room for clues. 'RIGHT THERE!' you screamed and pointed towards the ground. The dwarves pointed their weapons downwards when they realized what they were looking at. 'My Queen, it is a spider' one of them concluded.
You held up your skirt, afraid the creepy thing might climb up your chair. 'Is this the creature that was going to murder you?' Thorin asked, his tone slightly annoyed. You glared at him. Thorin chose to ignore it. He raised his foot and brought his boot down hard on the spider. There was a silent squishy noise when the animal was flattened on the ground. 'Now, I think you will be safe less but there might be another spy here in the room trying to kill you' Dwalin joked. Thorin shot him a warning glance but it was too late.
You looked at the bald dwarf with frightened eyes. 'Do you think there is another one here?' Dwalin realized his mistake. 'No lass, of course not. Why would you think that?' he asked. 'Because you just told me.' The room fell silent. The other guards tried to leave the room as quiet as they could. 'Love, it is just a spider. It is nothing to worry about' Thorin tried to assure you. You shot him a dark look but took his offered hand to help you down the chair. 'I remember you singing a different tune when we were under attack by it's larger brothers' you said angrily.
'I am going to leave now' Dwalin announced. Thorin could deal with you on his own, you weren't his wife. You crossed your arms in front of you. If he only dared to disagree with you... Thorin tried to read your expression. One wrong move and he was sure you were going to kill him. Luckily for him, you didn't give him the time to think of a comment on his own.
'You lot laughed at me when we walked into Mirkwood and we came across that small spider. And for your information: it was huge. It wasn't as large as the ones we encountered later on but you have to admit that it was enormous.' At first Thorin didn't realize that you were waiting for some sort of response. But when you raised a daring eyebrow, he quickly said: 'Aye, my love, that one was much larger then this one.' You started to walk around him in circle. He just knew that you could smell his blood and you wanted a taste of it.
'And you, you had the nerve to get mad at me for raising a 'false alarm'. While you already knew how afraid I was of spiders' you hissed. Not this again... 'I already told you that I was the leader of the Company and we all had trouble thinking straight in that bloody forest' he tried to explain as calmly as he could. You huffed. Chills were running through your skin as you remembered the feeling when you were back at that forest. The hallucinations had been horrible on you. There were spiders walking everywhere, on every tree and every leave.
'I was shaking with fear but you didn't even notice' you said. Thorin wanted to roll his eyes but resisted. It would only make matters worse then they already were.'Like I said before, we were all hallucinating and it was hard on us all.' But you wouldn't listen to him.
'Then, we were captured by those huge, monster spiders...' You had to stop for a moment to collect yourself. That moment had been so frightning. You shook the feeling off. 'We were captured and I could hear a certain dwarf screaming for his life.' Thorin shot you a dirty look. 'Those spiders shot venom in our veins. They literally wanted to eat us. You can't expect me to take you seriously if you think that those little ones will eat you.'
You raised your hands. 'Don't shoot the messenger, but that is their plan.' Now, Thorin did roll his eyes. You could be so dramatic from time to time. 'When Bilbo saved us, your own nephews and a few of your other men had the heart to come to me and apologize for making fun of me. You, on the other hand, have never even tried to apologize.' You stuck your nose in the air as you said this. Your husband wasn't allowed to sleep next to you until he was able to see his mistake. That was for certain.
'It isn't my fault that you are that scared of spiders' Thorin said, not understanding the point of apologising for it. You didn't react. He knew what he had to apologize for if he thought hard enough. 'Do you re- Fine. I am sorry that you are afraid of spider!' he yelled. 'Even though it is not my fault' he thought to himself. 'And...' you said, expecting him to finish it. 'And?' he asked.
'And you are sorry for not comforting her in Mirkwood and making fun of her before the attack' a voice close to Thorin's back whispered. Thorin jumped up when he heard it. You stared at him, frowning. 'Don't be scared, it is me, Bilbo' the hobbit whispered again. It was just loud enough for the dwarf King to hear. The hobbit had heard your screams and wanted to surprise your attacker. But when he walked in and saw this... he knew he had to help the dwarf.
He elbowed Thorin. 'Say it, now.' Thorin looked up to see you glaring at him, expecting his apologies. 'This is absolute... I am sorry that I made fun of you and that I got angry with you when you were screaming. I should have been there for you even though we were all in danger in that elven forest and none of us could think straight' Thorin ended with a snarl. 'Drop that tone, she will eat you alive' Bilbo warned him in a whisper. 'I should have been a better suitor at that point in time' Thorin quickly added.
Your arms relaxed, they were no longer crossed. You smiled, satisfied with his words. 'I hope that next time you will be more understanding. Or I will tell everyone of your fear of ducks' you threatened, just to make sure the message really sunk in. You strode by him with a satisfied grin as his face flushed bright red. When you closed the door behind you, the hobbit couldn't hold his snickers anymore. 'You won't speak to anyone about this' Thorin said. He tried to grab the hobbit by his collar but he had no idea where he was.
'I can't wait to let Ori write this down in your memoires' Bilbo said as he quickly left the room.
