Imagine you're Daenerys' daughter and talking to Smaug
Imagine requested by XxFandom_PrincessxX ; Imagine Danny has passed so you are now the only 'mother of dragons'. You go on the quest to Erebor and fall in love with Kili. Once you've reached the mountain you try to talk to Smaug because he kidnapped Kili. He even changes into his human form.
Then, Thorin kills him. Kili comes to comfort you.
I am sorry if I offended anyone with this because I have not read/seen Game of Thrones yet. I am currently reading the first book but I am only at chapter 2 right now... Do I have a good excuse for not having seen it yet?
Does the fact that I live in Holland count? No? Because we can see it here too? Well then...
Because I tried my best to avoid it so that I wouldn't fall into another fandom? Let's go with that.

Even after all these months traveling together, many of the dwarves still didn't send you as little as a smile. They would just frown at you. After hearing their story you couldn't really blame them.
A dragon had stole their home from them. Stole their treasures. Killed so many of their kind.
And that was only the dragon that was now occupying Erebor. You were sure their had been other dragons before Smaug. The gold drew them closer like a light did with insects.
You wouldn't press them to tell you though. Once you had told them that you were called the 'mother of dragons', they had taking a sudden disliking to you.
Gandalf had tried to warn you but how could you ignore who you were? They were bound to find out at some point. You just hoped that they wouldn't treat you like a walking fatal disease.
All this time you tried to remember the lessons your mother had taught you before she died. Many wise words she had spoken. None of them worked on this stubborn lot.
You sighed.
Sometimes you simply couldn't help your own thoughts. In the beginning you had tried to get them to like you. But to no avail. Especially the elder dwarves didn't want anything to do with a woman who 'befriended' dragons.
They called it 'trying to make friends with the one who is going to eat you'. Or they were afraid that you would set Smaug up against the dwarves.
Which was crazy because he would try to burn and eat them anyway. Regardless of what you would say.
No, it was your job to try and talk to Smaug. There was a chance that he would listen to you. After some convincing from Gandalf and you being quiet during that, Thorin had decided to give you a chance.
Things had gone quite well for the first part of the journey. Until you reached Rivendell.
The elves were kind, interested and in awe by your presence.
So the dwarves had more reason to dislike you.
The hobbit also fell in good taste with the elves but for one or another reason they didn't dislike him for it. Even though you did see the glares Thorin send the elves when they would try to touch Bilbo.
"(Y/N)? Are you alright? You have been staring at the wall for some time now" Bilbo said.
You looked down at the hobbit, smiling. "No, I mean yes, my dear friend. My thoughts were simply visited by external affairs" you explained.
Bilbo nodded, pretending to understand what you just said.
"If you can't keep your head where it should be, then leave" Thorin growled. He was standing in the now open doorway. There lay a path behind him. A path that would lead into the mountain.
One that would almost certainly lead to certain death.
"My mind is here" you said, trying to keep your voice even. One day you would hit that dwarf a-
"Thank you for gracing us with your full attention, (y/n)" Thorin said sarcastically.
Dwalin was glaring at you from his king's side. Maybe it was a smart decision to keep your thoughts a bit further away from this point on.
Kili came to stand a little closer beside you. You could feel the heat radiating from his body. It was like a warm but gentle fire from a High Valley dragon. "(Y/N) has done nothing but support us during this quest uncle. I can assure you she won't turn against us" he spoke up.
Everyone became quiet. Even the mountain itself appeared to hold it's breath.
Thorin glared at you. Now you had even managed to turn his nephew against him. "If you are so sure then you go in with Bilbo. If you feel like you are grown-up enough to stand up against your uncle and king-"
"I didn't mean it like that" Kili said, looking down at his boots.
"-then you will show us you are TOUGH ENOUGH TO FIGHT A DRAGON!" Thorin shouted the last part.
You were sure he didn't really want his nephew to go in there, he was just proving a point. However, in an unexpected twist, Kili straightened his back and puffed out his chest. "Fine, Bilbo, I am ready if you are" he said. His eyes were in a silent battle with his uncle.
Thorin stepped aside to let the two through.
"You can't let him go in" you said, stepping forward. All eyes focused on you. Kili stopped, already half inside the mountain.
"And why not?" Thorin asked mockingly. "It appears he still has two feet that are perfectly capable of getting him there. Did you want to argue otherwise?"
You took a deep breath to calm yourself down. What none of them knew, and what you weren't ready to commit to yourself just yet, was that your feelings for Kili ran deeper then just friendship.
"If what you said is true" you started, earning some huffs from the dwarves around you, 'then there is a dangerous fire breathing dragon inside that mountain. I am the only one who can keep him under controle. Let me go in instead' you half pleaded.
Thorin's eyes narrowed. He was thinking about something, weighing your words.
"I will be fine (y/n). I will come back to you" Kili answered before his uncle could say something. He didn't look in your eyes for long. Kili turned around and disappeared inside the darkness of the mountain.

Loud growls could be heard from outside. You were sure the people in Laketown were able to hear it too. If they were wise they would have fled by now.
That's why you knew many men would be killed tonight. The weren't wise. Wouldn't leave by the threat of danger alone. Men needed to see danger right before it killed them. And even then they would still have doubt about their faith.
"Where are they? Why are they not back yet?" Thorin asked. It was clear that he was distressed. He was pacing around right in front of the entrance.
The dragon sickness that you had clearly seen only a few minutes before was gone for now. The worry about his nephew was strong enough to break through the madness.
You stepped up when no one else did. "Let me go in" you said again.
"Why should I trust you?" he asked.
"Because I am the only one who can bring your nephew back alive."
He didn't step away until a few seconds later. "Fine, but bring him back" he said in a soft whisper.
No one needed to tell you that twice.

Smaug could be smelt before he was seen. And if you listened closely, you could hear his heart beating from a distance.
Someone who didn't know what they were looking for wouldn't notice the hidden secrets. But you did.
You could hear how he tried to be silent. Maybe he even thought he succeeded.
You knew better then that. The dragon knew who was coming into his territory.
The creature was moving just above you. You didn't look up. If the dragon wanted to talk he could come to you. That's how this game was played. Some of them knew how to get into your mind.
When the dwarves had told you about Smaug you already thought that would be the case here. A dragon that would play tricks on your mind as soon as he realized who you were. The more he knew the better he would be able to control you.
Dragons could be very persuasive when they wanted to be.
Deadly otherwise.
"Who. Are. You?" Smaug asked. His voice sounded like a drum inside your head.
You didn't think he would talk to you outside of your head. Still, you needed to collect yourself before you could answer. "I am called the 'guardian of dragons'. What are you called?"
A low rumble filled the mountain. "Clearly you know what to say to a dragon. Though I doubt that you are our 'guardian'" he hissed. He circled around a pilar. Finally showing himself to you.
He was absolutely magnificent. His sharp teeth that would cut any enemy with ease. The wings that you were sure would make him quicker then many of his kind. The size of him -
Of course you were smart enough to close these thoughts off from him. Smaug couldn't know how you admired him. Not in a loving way, simply because he was a dragon. And a great one at that.
"Why have you come into my domain?" Smaug asked.
You smiled sweetly. "This is not your domain. It belongs to the dwarves of Erebor" you said, challenging him. There was no point in lying because he would have smelt them by now. Dwarf smell was a strong smell.
He let out a mighty roar. The mountain shook, stone fell and gold slipped down the many golden hills.
"I have claimed this mountain as my own many decades ago. They say this is their home, well, then let them come in here and claim it! I dare them!" His voice sounded harsh, high-pitched in your head.
Whether he did that on purpose or because he wanted to distract you, you weren't sure. That was also not your main problem right now. You couldn't just ask him where Kili and Bilbo were. It would show him your weakness. No matter how hard you would try to keep that secret from him.
"What. Are. You. Doing. Here?" he asked in a dangerous tone.
He brought his huge snout closer to you. His lips was almost touching you. Which you prefered he didn't because the clearly had never heard of mint.
"Like I told you before, I am the guardian of dragons. I have inherited this title after my mother died. Maybe you have heard of her. Her name was Daenedrys-"
"-Targaryen" he finished, his voice uneven. "She... she was your mother?" Smaug didn't wait for you to answer. He lifted his left wing, revealing Kili and Bilbo who were relieved to get some air again.
Dragon's skin was hard, not easily pierced by a simple blade. There was only one way to kill a dragon. In his human form.
That was not why you were here though. Your mother had taught you that dragon's could be befriended. They didn't deserve to die. So that's what you tried to do here. Talk him out of this mountain.
"Did you know her?" you asked. The conversation needed to keep going, otherwise he would never give you Kili back. And Bilbo, of course the hobbit too.
Smaug transformed. Kili and Bilbo fell to the ground. You tried to keep still, not show emotion. Thankfully they landed on the gold. It was hard but better then the stone floor. From the corner of your eye you could see them moving around a bit. They were still alive.
Smaug came closer to you. His eyes were fixed on you. In their human form, dragons were weaker. They would only transform when they knew they could trust someone.
"She was my friend..." he spoke softly.
"Are you the great friend from the North?" you asked. Your friends needed more time to catch their breath. They needed to get out as soon as possible. Smaug would never leave if there were two enemies so close by.
"I guess I am. Did she tell you about me?"
You smiled. "She told me many stories about you. You were a dear friend to her." Silence filled the mountain. You were focused on Smaug, trying to keep his attention with you. Nothing else around you mattered.
"She told me about the time you saved her from orc's. How you killed them with one huff of fire. She said it was truly amazing" you said.
Smaug managed to smile weakly. You could feel his heartache. Once dragons became your friend they were loyal to the end. They weren't that different from dwarves.
His smile fell slowly. You couldn't see what was bothering him at first. It wasn't until he looked down, that you followed his eyes to see his chest. And the silver, sharp end of a sword sticking out of the left side of his chest.
"Goodbye, mother of dragons. May my brothers have your life for this betrayal" he said before he fell down to the ground.
You were frozen on the spot.
You watched as Thorin came into view from behind his back. The wicked smile on his lips, the way he waited before pulling his sword back out. The triumphant laugh that escaped the dwarves' lips when he checked and found the dragon was really killed.
"You" you said, pointing a shaky finger at him.
Thorin looked up at you. "Aye, me. You were only staring at him. He would have killed you. You should be thankful" Thorin said.
Your face was turning red as the anger grew inside your chest. "How dare you kill such an innocent creature?" you asked, your voice shaking.
Before you could walk towards him and strangle the poor excuse for a dwarf, Kili hold you back with his arms. "Come with me" he ordered.
"No." You shook your head violently. "That piece of -"
"Think twice before you finish that sentence" Thorin said, his warning more then clear.
Kili pulled you with him before you and his uncle would start fighting each other. A fight with words was one thing, but a fight with weapons between the two of you... That could never end well.
He managed to drag you behind a pillar. There, he made sure you sat down with his arms tightly wrapped around you so you couldn't storm off. "I am sorry that happened" he said.
You broke into tears, allowing him to pull you close. The tears wouldn't stop so you burrowed your head in the crook of his neck. "I am supposed to be the guardian of the dragons. Look what I have done" you cried.
Kili softly stroke your hair. He didn't know what to say to you. Dwarves were supposed to hate dragons. He couldn't tell you that he was sorry that the dragon was killed. But he was sorry for how it had happened.
"I could have lured him outside! Though your uncle doesn't want to believe it, I was talking to him!"
Kili frowned. "I didn't hear a word" he said.
You only weeped harder.
"(Y/N), you did all you could. Don't doubt yourself. This isn't your fault" he tries to assure you.
You hit him softly on the chest. "You bastard. You just said you thought I wasn't even speaking to him. How can you know that it's not my fault?"
"Well..." What was he supposed to say? "I think you, even though I didn't hear a word you said, were kind and gentle like you always are" he said.
You looked up at him with teary eyes. He whiped some tears away from your cheeks with his thumbs.
"That's who you are (y/n). No matter how others treat you, you always stand above that. It's what I admire in you" he finishes with a blush.
Finally, you managed to smile.
Kili moved so he was sitting in front of you. "Don't ever forget who you are. Don't let others drive you to be someone you are not." Kili leaned in so your head's were touching. "Be the (y/n) I know, the one I love."
Your eyes widen in shock. Kili doesn't give you the chance to react (which you aren't allowed to do because of the trademark, so kudos to Kili). He seals your kiss in a loving kiss.
"Kili" you mutter when you break for air.
He smiles. "I will talk to my uncle. Don't worry. You will get your revenge. Just not in a fight or either one of you getting hurt."
You nod. "Only because you just kissed me."
He chuckles. "I know."

This is the first imagine I have written since I am on my break. Right now I want to finish the requests first. Then catch up with the daily imagines.
The break is still in place so you still can't request anything for now. I will place an announcement when you can send in requests again.
I hope you like it XxFandom_PrincessxX . It sure was a lot of fun to write it :)
Oh, and about the trademark 'joke'. I just could not not put it in. Most of you, if not all, must know about the Fine Bros' failure. I am not here to say that they are terrible people or anything, honestly I think the idea itself was a good one, but it just played out wrong and their intentions were maybe a little dubious. And when I typed the word react in this story I just thought of it and decided to include it.
That's all there is :)
