Imagine cuddling with Dwalin

This imagine was requested by shesavy ; You are getting married to Dwalin, while you are pregnant, and you spend the night cuddling together.

The wedding day was something that you would never forget. You weren't forced to marry him, even though you were pregnant.

It was something that would have been frowned upon if you were still back at the Shire. Marrying a hobbit, that is.

Now you were at Erebor by your husband's side. You never thought you would call this cold piece of rock a home but it had turned into one. He had made you an indoor garden so you could still use your green thumbs.

He had put in so much effort to make you happy. He never failed to impress you.

When you told him you were expecting his child, he couldn't stop hugging you and kissing you all over your face. If you were still at the Shire you would have to get married quickly. Making sure that no one would know you were pregnant with his child.

Apparently, the dwarves didn't care. They all congratulated you. No one seemed to mind the fact you had slipped your hands beneath the blankets before your vows were said. Maybe no one dared to when they saw Dwalin by your side. He was impressive. Even among his own kind.

It took a few months to finish all the preparations for your wedding. Dwalin wanted everything perfect for you and his unborn child. It didn't help that his best friend was the king. Nothing would be anything less then perfect and shiny with the two of them following everyone around.

You wore a beautiful long dress, covered in jewels. It showed your growing belly off. At first you had wanted to hide it but Dwalin convinced you not to. He was proud of his unborn child and wanted everyone to know who it's daddy was.

There were many flowers covering the walls for you, as a hobbit you highly appreciated this.

The dress was a beautiful white, making your red hair pop out even more then usual.

You had both said your vows, shared some tears and had thanked everyone for coming. You knew your husband couldn't wait to get you back to your house. He wanted to cuddle. You could see it in his eyes. He had that longing look which promised you that you wouldn't leave his arms tonight.

Dwalin was getting impatient. Thorin quickly came to the rescue.

'I want to thank you all for coming on behalf of the bride and groom. I think the newly married couple will want to spend some time together now. There is still lots of food and ale so, please, help yourselves.'

There came a loud cheer from the crowd. You were already gone.

Dwalin carried you towards your house. 'You do realize that I can walk on my own, don't you?' you asked jokingly.

'Not as long as you're pregnant with my child you're not.' He wore a proud grin on his face. It was so beautiful to see.

You cuddled up closer to his chest. The mountain could be cold at night. It was a good thing you had such a cuddly dwarf by your side who carried you everywhere.

He opened the door, careful not to let you fall. The fire was still going in your house. It was comfortable and warm. Everything a hobbit required.

'Has she moved again?' he asked, carefully laying you down on the bed.

'She?' You followed your husband's form as he walked around the bed. Since the news, he wouldn't jump over you as he normally did, scared that he might hurt his baby.

'Aye.' He got himself on the bed, beneath the blanket. He held it up so that you could roll over to him. You immediately found your favourite spot; your head on his chest and his head on yours.

'It has to be a girl. I can feel it through your stomache' he said convinced.

You chuckled. 'Then I don't have any other choice but to believe you.'

You could hear the fire from your bedroom. It made everything feel so much like home. You wondered how Bag End was doing now. You had given it to a homeless hobbit that was always wondering around town. He needed it more then Lobelia Sackville-Baggins did.

'Have you already thought about a name for our daughter?' you asked.

Dwalin placed a soft kiss on the top of your head. His left hand was busy caressing your back. He knew your back was killing you these days. He would massage you every night if you needed it.

'Aye, I have. There are in fact many names flowing around in my mind.'

You smiled. 'We will know when we see her.'

'Aye, that is true. Our little girl will be so beautiful' he said.

Sleep was going to claim you soon. Your eyelids were getting heavy.

'She must be, with a father like you.' You could feel a light rumble in his chest.

'And with a mother like you she is sure to be a smart cookie. Speaking of which, I am getting hungry.'

You chuckled.

'Seriously? Do you know how much you ate back there?' you asked amused. Hobbits could eat much but dwarves were serious competition.

Dwalin's stomache growled.

'Really Dwalin?'

'I told you I was hungry.'

He moved a bit around. Dwalin didn't want to get up when you were almost falling asleep against him now. What a dilemma.

You hummed. 'Don't leave me.'

He pulled you closer, you buried your head in the creak of his neck.

'The ring around our finger's prove that such a thought won't ever cross my mind.'
