Imagine being in a love triangle with Kili and Legolas

This imagine was requested by @Karina_rox; You are in a love triangle with Kili and Legolas, but in the end you choose one of them... Let's find out who you will end up with :) I hope that this is what you had in mind!

You combed your hair, staring in the mirror and watching your own red-stained eyes. Before this all happened, you never believed you could give your heart to anyone. Now, your heart belonged to two and they both returned your love. You honestly didn't know how you got into this mess. Kili hadn't showed you his true feelings before you had entered Mirkwood. You did think more of him then just friends but he never seemed to pick up on your feelings or simply didn't return them. It had all changed when Legolas had first laid his eyes on you. You put the comb down. A deep sigh worked it's way up through your throat. The guards could be here any minute now. One of them would be a dwarf and the other would be an elf. And they would be waiting for your final answer.

You leaned back in your chair and thought about the day your whole life changed. The Company was traveling through Mirkwood. Everyone had been tired and hungry. Many complained about their surroundings and Thorin had had enough. The whole forest was spinning around you and several members of the Company had to hold on to each other or to trees nearby the road to remain standing. Somewhere in the back of your mind, you registered the sight of Bilbo climbing up in a tree. But it didn't really sink in. 'What is wrong with this forest?' you heard someone ask. The sentence repeated itself several times sover, like an echo. Or was it an echo? You really didn't know and didn't care to find out which of the two it was. Your mind was a blur and by the looks of it, so were the minds of the dwarves.

That's when they attacked and everything happened too quickly for anyone to realize what exactly happened. The only thing you knew was that you were getting stung and that the venom was making you hazy and your sight blurry. For what felt like a few days, you laid there in your cocoon, unable to free yourself. It was the sound of your companions cheering that made you want to free yourself. Surely they wouldn't leave you up in the tree to die? Of course not. Soon, you could feel yourself falling down to the ground. It did hurt when you landed, but you were still hazy so you barely felt a thing. Someone cut your cocoon open and helped you up to your feet. You weren't exactly sure what was happening around you, but you grabbed your sword and just started swinging it madly. (No dwarves were hurt in this story)

Many of the spiders were getting slayed. Their dead bodies filled the ground everywhere. Yet, there were more coming. Slowly but steadily, your mind became cleared and you saw Fili and Kili standing on both of your sides. You were both ready for the new group of spiders when you heard Thorin yell: 'MOVE ON! THIS WAY!' You exchanged a look with Kili before you did what you were told by your leader and followed the others. The spiders were everywhere around you. Kili was sending arrows in every direction, killing many on his way, when you noticed other arrows than Kili's killing the spiders. You couldn't see where they were coming from, but you could see something moving between the trees. 'Please don't let it be elves' you silently begged. But of course they had to be elves.

At first you felt angry for them to take you as prisoners and telling Thorin that he had stolen Orcrist! Who did he even think he w- Oh, but he was quite handsome wasn't he? He had long blonde hair that really made his eyes pop. And damn were those eyes the thieves of your heart. It was simply unfair. You could only imagine how you would look in front of your companions. Maybe you had some drool hanging from your mouth and were you staring at him without any shame. Quickly, you collected yourself as to not come across as a fool to this elf send from Aüle as a gift to you and only y- There was really something wrong with you and you knew it. Your mother would kill you if she found out you were in love with an elf. Let alone that you couldn't be in love with him. Kili was your One, if you were correct, you couldn't be in love with two guys.

That is what you hoped. In the cells of Mirkwood, you had many conversations with Legolas and you really got to know him. He would stay on the look out so that none of the guards could see him talking to you. It brightened your day when the elven prince would come to talk to you. The dark haired dwarf in the cell next to you, however, wished he would still have his bow and arrow with him. 'Why do you talk to him?' he asked you one night. Not sure if Kili was talking to you, you walked closer to the bars of your cell and asked; 'What do you mean?' You heard a shuffling sound coming from the other cell, you assumed he was now standing at his bars too. 'Why are you talking to that elf all the time? You know he is not right for you' Kili said in a soft voice.

Was he serious? 'Why do you think you know what is right for me?' There was a long silence before he answered. 'I know what is right for you. You deserve someone who would look up to you, not the other way around' he said. You raised an eyebrow, though he couldn't see it. 'Do you really think it is the right time for jokes like that?' you hissed back. 'I am serious (y/n). There is someone else that would take great care of you, better than that elf. He would tell you that you were his gem every single day. That you are the light reflected by a diamond that brightens his day. You are the ruby to my crown, yo-' 'To your crown?' Everything felt silent. The only sound that broke the silence in the cells were Bombur's snores. In Kili's cell, you could hear the sound of shuffling feet again. 'Kili?' you asked. You had hoped that he would return your feelings.

Could it be true? 'What do you feel for him?' Kili asked. You could hear by the tone of his voice that he felt down. 'He is quite handsome, but I do love you more' you answered honestly. You couldn't tell him that you didn't like Legolas in that way. He could tell that you were lying, he had always been good at that, so it was of no use to try. 'Could you live with me for the rest of your life without longing for him?' Now it was your turn to let a silence fall between the two of you. You sat down on the ground, with your back to Kili's cell. 'I think we should let her choose.' Your head shot up to see where the voice came from, and you saw Legolas standing right in front of you.

Since then, Thorin and Thranduil had fought about many more things than just the quest of Erebor. Sometimes you were dragged up to the throne room as well to participate in the shouting game between the two Kings and their kin. No one understood how you could love the other. 'He doesn't even have facial hair!' Kili shouted multiple times if he had nothing else to add to the conversation. Thorin agreed with him on this point. 'Besides, I don't have to bend over to kiss her or sit down on my ass to make her feel good, I can just kneel down and rea-' At this, the elven King and his son looked at the dwarves in shock. Your face was already hidden behind your hands so that no one could see the blush on your cheeks. You had to admit that it sounded like a great plan but you really didn't want to talk about it in front of everyone.

'I have never heard something so vulgar' Thranduil said, shocked. 'I would never talk like that about you in front of others, my lady' Legolas said, focusing only on you. 'True, I may have to bend over to kiss you but it wouldn't stop me to do just that. I will make you the most loved maiden in all of Middle-Earth and show you the respect you deserve' he ended with a sneer to Kili. 'Here, in our Kingdom, you will be saved from the juvenile behaviour of dwarves. Here in Mirkwood we think before we speak' Thranduil added, looking at Thorin from the corner of his eyes. 'Juvenile? In my Kingdom you would find that we help the ones in need instead of leaving them to their faith! At least we have honour and are fierce in our hearts' Thorin semi-shouted.

And here you were. The guards had come to pick you up. It was the day you were expected to make your choice known. A lot of time had passed since the Company had escaped Mirkwood and the Battle of the Five Armies had (not) happened. The cold air in the mountain send chills down your spine. You didn't want to do this. You were ready to leave this all behind you and not choose at all. How did they expect you to choose between the two loves of your life? Normally, dwarves would have a One, but you had a... a Two? You couldn't explain it but you did know that you were in love with the both of them. But neither of them would have it. You had tried to explain to them that you would never be able to give your heart fully to one of them. Still, they wanted an answer to you.

The guards stopped in front of the door, while two others opened them and the room behind fell silent as you entered. The two Kings were standing on the side of their kin. Kili and Legolas were standing in the middle of the room. Both of them had put on their most beautiful clothes to hopefully change your mind in their favour. Balin nodded at you and walked with you towards the two man. Bilbo smiled reassuringly at you. He knew what you were going through, since you had talked to him about your feelings on multiple occasions. 'We are here today because (y/n) will choose the one who owns her heart. She has to choose one of these fine man today to spend the rest of her life with. Lass' he said, addressing you, 'will you be so kind to let us know who you choose?' All eyes were focused on you as you took a deep breath and took one more step forward.

'Kili, I want you to know that you are the one who I will always be able to call my best friend, wherever I go and whoever I meet. You have brightened my days when no one was able to do so and you have made me feel like I have never felt before. I know that if I will choose you, that there won't be another woman who will receive the amount of love that I will receive from you. The rest of my life, I would be someone you love unconditionally and I would never have to worry about your faithfulness to me. I am sure I will live a full life with you.' Kili and Thorin seemed to be incredibly proud with your words and send smug looks to the elves on the other side. At first, Kili had felt like you were telling him you chose Legolas, but now it seemed like you were going to choose him. You turned your head and looked at Legolas.

'Legolas, you will always have a special place in my heart, no matter where out paths will lead us. The conversations that we have had opened my eyes and made me see things through a different light. If I were to give the rest of my life to you, I know that I would end up in good, gentle hands. You would honour me as your wife and give me everything that you'd think I deserve. I would wait for you to come home as my husband, not ever questioning your love for me. I would be your life and lighten your dreams when you sleep.' Legolas send a smug look to the scowling Kili on the other side. 'That's great and all, but who do you choose?' Thorin asked impatiently. You looked at them both once more. 'I choose...'

Let everyone know in the comments below who you choose!
