Imagine being Gandalf's granddaughter

This imagine is requested by @XxFandom_PrincessxX; Imagine you are Gandalf's granddaughter and you go with him on the quest to reclaim Erebor. On the way, you and Kili start courting but Gandalf doesn't improve. That is, until Kili proves to be worth your love...

'No, it won't happen until my beard isn't gray anymore!' your grandfather yelled. You were sure that if there was a slight chance the orc's had somehow managed to lose track of you, they would now know where you were exactly. His voice had sounded so thunderous that even the hobbits in Hobbiton would have heard him. 'It is not happening!' Gandalf says. His eyebrows are narrowed, giving you and Kili a stern look. 'But, grandfather -' 'No! I already had my doubts about taking you with me on this quest and now I see I should have left you behind.' Next to you, Kili lifts his arm to comfort you. Wrong move. 'I suggest, master dwarf, that you keep your hands to yourself' Gandalf warned.

Kili quickly hides his hand behind his back, not meeting the wizard's eyes. You rolled your eyes. 'You have known Kili for quite some time now, why won't you let us court?' you asked. 'Aye, is there something wrong with my nephew?' From behind, Thorin walked up, his arms crossed and an angry look on his face. Gandalf sighed, holding his staff in one hand. 'There is nothing wrong with your nephew accept for his youthfulness. They are both making the wrong decisions based on imaginary feelings.' Somehow, that didn't seem to calm Thorin down at all. 'My nephew might be young but we dwarves know when we have found our One. Don't pretend, wizard, that I am happy he chose anything other then a dwarf -'

'ANYTHING OTHER?! Don't talk about my granddaughter like she is a peace of meat' Gandalf said, waving his stick at the dwarf. 'But, Gandalf-' 'I am not having this discussion with you' he said in his threatening way. 'But you are having this discussion with me, so I am asking you again, what is wrong with my nephew?' Thorin growled. Kili grabbed your hand now that Gandalf was too busy to notice. 'Your nephew will get her hurt. If you hadn't noticed, he is reckless. He will get her hurt before I can blink with my eyes.' Thorin's head turned red from anger. 'My nephew is a trained fighter, he will protect the lass with his life. Wouldn't you, Kili?' Kili quickly nodded as the wizard looked at him. 'Aye, with my life until the day I die.'

'I will not listen to this nonsense any longer. (Y/N), come with me!' Gandalf barked and turned on his heels. He knew that you would follow him. From the day he had found you in the orc cave, he had raised you and had made sure you didn't have to ask for anything. In return, you were faithful to him and followed him wherever he went. 'I am sorry' you told Kili and followed your grandfather. Tears were trying to come up to your eyes but you pushed them down. You knew Gandalf only wanted the best for you but this was just simply unfair. Kili had proven himself many times over during the quest. At first, you had thought he was a show off. But somewhere along the journey, your feelings had changed to something deep.

You could honestly say you were in love with him. 'I do love him' you said, your voice slightly shaking. Gandalf hold still. You noticed his shoulders sinking slightly. 'This is not love, (y/n), this is something you believe to be love.' He continued on his way. You were now only a few metres away from camp, making your way towards the cliff. Gandalf probably needed some time to think. It would take many hours before he would say another word to you. Now, what were you going to do during that time? You could think of something, but it included Kili... Gandalf looked back at you over his shoulder. 'You will stay here and don't even think about going back to the dwarves. I need time to decide what we will do about this' he declared.

He left you alone while he continued on his way. You sighed. Now, the waiting officially began. It gave you some time to think about things. When you had first joined the quest, you never thought that things would turn out this way. Sure, you knew Thorin didn't really trust you and you also knew that dwarves thought that every other creature were less then them, but the things he had said were rude. You kicked at a pebble at your feet. It rolled down the rocks as you watched it falling down, down, down. 'I wish I could be as free as that pebble' you mumbled, sitting down on the ground. You rested your head in your hands. 'You are not in love, you don't know what love is. I do, even though I am old and I don't know the first thing about it' you said in your Gandalf voice.

'Look at me, I'm wearing a pointy hat and that's why I can tell you what you feel and what you don't feel.' *Crack* You shut your mouth immediately when you heard the noise behind your back. Slowly, you turned your head and looked at the bushes. Nothing moved, everything was silent. You shrugged, it was probably nothing. 'And I am a majestic ass who calls himself King but apparently no one has ever taught me anything about kingly behaviour. Look at me, sitting on my pony with my ass up high, too busy loosing my way instead of listening to others' you now said in your Thorin voice. You huffed. It was just all simply unfair. Who did they think they were? *Crack* There was the same sound again.

'Kili? Is that you?' No reply came. 'Fili? Bilbo? Gandalf wanted me to be alone so it would be best if you left' you said, slowly getting up from the rock you sat on. The bushes started moving and you grabbed your sword. Holding it out in front of you, you carefully walked forwards. 'Balin? Who is there?' You had an eerie feeling in your stomache. Then, a small, silver object slowly rose above a bush. You narrowed your eyes and walked up closer to get a good look. When you were only mere steps away, the silver object rose above the bush and you could finally see what it was. It was a sword, held by a very ugly orc. 'Do you always sneak up on girls, you creep?' you asked smugly.

The orc smiled wickedly. He was probably happy to see that you were, indeed, all alone. You didn't get a chance to charge at him. The orc already came running towards you, the point of his sword aimed at you throat. For a moment you didn't know what to do and it almost cost you your life. You dodged the attack at the last second, the cold steel of the sword barely touched your skin. The dwarves had taught you some fighting skills during the quest but you had never been a figther. You could barely lift the heavy dwarf sword they had given you. Slightly panicked, you thought about running towards the other' or at least call for help. But no sound came from your dry throat.

The orc turned around, his eyes showing determination and your heart sank into your boots. Gandalf would feel so guilty if you died right now, you couldn't let that happen. 'Think, think, what did Kili teach you during practice...' you murmured. Automatically, you put your right foot in front of the other and held your sword with both hands. You watched the orc's steps and focused on the way he held his sword. Find the weakness of your opponent; Kili's voice boomed through your head. Your eyes traced over the orc's entire body but you couldn't find the weak spot Kili had told you about. The orc was now afwully close again and you could smell his stench. 'Did you ever consider taken a bath?' you asked.

The orc didn't reply but only seemed to get more irritated with you. He lifted his sword and stabbed it directly at your chest. Somehow, you were able to block it, but the orc was strong. He was putting so much force behind his sword that you could see the tip of it, slowly but surely making it's way towards your chest. You were trying to push him back but you were no match for the orc. He had taken his time to attack you, knowing that he would beat you one way or another. Your thoughts went to Kili, Gandalf, the Company and all your friends back home. Was this how it was going to end?

'Keep your filthy paws of my âzyungâl!' you heard someone yelling. You didn't have time to turn your head and look at the person who had shouted, the tip of the sword was dangerously close to your breast. You were slightly distracted when you heard the orc growl and when you looked up, you saw that an arrow had found it's way through the orc's head. However, the orc was still standing and still trying to push his sword through your chest. Another arrow drilled it's way through the orc's skull. Still, it was standing strong. 'Can you just drop dead already?' you asked. Then, Kili came in your sight with a look on his face you had never thought he would be able to pull of.

'I said, keep your filthy paws of her' he growled and jumped high, on the orc's back and raised his sword high. Before it pierced through the orc's skull, you turned your head away. Knowing what would happen was worse enough, you didn't have to see it. The force on the sword against your sword disappeared and you were finally able to lower your sword. The orc fell down to his knees, his mouth wide open and his eyes wide in shock. Kili jumped off, panting. His eyes had turned black completely. 'Kili?' you asked, your voice slightly shaking. His eyes shot up from the orc to you. 'Kili? Are you alright?' you asked, concerned. 'You are mine' was the only thing he said. 'What do you mean?'

'You are mine, no one else can touch you and no one will hurt you again' he said. His eyes slowly returned to their normal color but the posessive look remained. He walked closer to you and wrapped his arms around you. 'I love you (y/n). I won't let anyone come between us again, you are my love, my life. Will you accept my courtship?' he asked, softly stroking your back. Before you could answer, someone else gave him your answer. 'She will accept your courtship, and I will allow it.' You both looked up to find Gandalf standing a few feet away. Thorin was standing next to him with a proud look in his eyes when he looked at Kili. 'Just make sure you won't hurt her, or I will have your head' he threatened. You rolled your eyes. 'Is that necessary?'

Your grandfather nodded. 'Aye, it will be most painful for the dwarf prince and most pleasant for me.' 'Watch your mouth wizard, no one will come near my nephew' Thorin growled, reaching for his sword. Gandalf ignored him. 'Did I make myself clear master dwarf?' he said with his eyes focused on Kili. He nodded. 'I won't hurt her, I promise.' Your grandfather seemed to be content with that answer, for now. 'Fine, let's return to the others. I bet there are more orc's out there and they are probably waiting for the right time to attack' he mumbled more to himself then to the ones around him. Thorin stayed behind him the whole time, watching his every move. In the back, Kili had swung one arm around your shoulders and together you walked back to the camp.
