This pref was requested by Thranduil_oropherson I will make it into two parts. The second part will be how he proves he loves you.

Frodo: He wasn't quite sure of it at first but when he knew, he couldn't decide what to do, he was too amazed that he had fallen in love, he felt like he had a purpose now.

Sam: He knew almost instantly, he's always been shy and secluded but the first thing he did was run to Frodo asking him for advice.

Pippin: Once he realized he was in love with you nothing was stopping him. He went around the shire stopping random people to tell them how much he loved you.

Merry: He understood the feeling from the start, but he didn't realize he loved you until he found his courage. The first thing he did was run around his hobbit hole in excitement.

Aragorn: He took to love as a gift, he didn't get excited but he realized he loved you when you were fighting and he couldnt bring himself to leave your side, but he was quite silent about it, the happiness he felt when he knew was hidden on the inside.

Legolas: He didn't really know what it felt like to be in love, he realized he loved you when he got protective over your every move. When he knew it was hard to hide it, it effected everything he did, he stuttered, he missed targets, he was much unlike himself.

Gimli: He was always stubborn to feelings like being in love. He realized he loved you when he got jealous of Legolas speaking to you. He was a lot quieter and argued less the day he found out, he was questioning how he felt that way in his mind.

Thorin: He realized he loved you when you went back to the shire, (your a hobbit) he didn't know he didn't know how much he cared for you until he missed you in his presence.

Fili: He realized his feelings (or fili-ings aha) when he protected you from Azog in BOTFA, you went up to help him but something inside of him didn't want you to get killed, it was love. That made him fight harder. (And he survived!)

Kili: He realized he loved you when he saw you in the cell across from him in Mirkwood, you were playing with your locket from your father, as he was playing with his stone from his mother. The connections throughout the journey made him believe his true feelings for you were love.

Bilbo: You came over the same night as the company, he didn't notice at first but if the company asked him if you were married he found himself saying you were his wife just to keep them away, he realized by the end of the evening love was what brought him to say that, he loved you.

Bard: When Smaug came and there was a chance at losing you, he noticed how much it effected him and his children, he realized it was no simple thing but that he was in love with you and afraid to lose the only woman he would ever fall in love with. (Well the last time)

Thranduil: When you went with Legolas and Tauriel he found his mind wandering to dark places, he was not only worried of his son but of you, he realized he loved you in the moment he heard that you went missing along with his son and captain of guard.
