Thranduil
Requested by Chrissyxx based before The hobbit, and during BOTFA, stars *** separate time as usual. I hope you enjoy!! BTW I do not know Legolas mother's name for it wasn't mentioned so I will put (T/w) which means Thranduils wife.
Thranduil rushed around the dead corpses, looking for a face he hoped not to see on the ground. He panicked with every second passing.
"(Y/n)!" He called out for her.
"(Y/n)!" He called again, he stopped in his tracks when he sensed presence behind him.
He whipped his gaze around.
"What is it?" He snapped, a dead look in his eye.
"My King, we have searched far and wide, we cannot find her." The guard spoke, sympathy in his voice.
"That is impossible! She has to be somewhere! Even if she has died." He paused at the thought, his eyes blurring with tears, which he choked back.
"Look under the corpses. We've only looked around. We must find her." He demanded.
Darkness was now taking a hold of him, what would he do without his love? He would be lost. He pushed orc filths bodies over with a force of wrath, he was growing tired.
But King Thranduil was not one to give up and give in so easily, he needed answers. He wasn't leaving that battle ground until he could not stand one more minute of it, for an elf, that could be long.
The battle just won by the elves, Gundabad was abandoned, who knew if the evil would ever come lurking there once again.
"My King Thranduil." Another guard came this time.
"Yes?" He didn't bother to turn, but kept his back to the guard. He wasn't prepared for the news to come.
"We have looked everywhere, Queen (y/n) is nowhere to be found." He said as gently as he could to soften the King's wrath that was so rarely shown before this day.
He remained silent, turning to the guard.
"What of your son, my lead, you cannot abandon him. He is so young, he needs his Father." The guard said respectively.
"I will not take criticism from my guards on if I shall return to my son or not, he also needs a Mother." He replied.
"I will continue to search, I will return to Legolas in a matter of days. I am sure the maids will be alright to watch him for that short time." He walked away from the guard.
"Keep searching." He shouted to the guard, that still stood in place surprised at the King's words.

"This is where my mother was last seen. Her whereabouts are unknown. Her life is unknown. Father never speaks of this place, that day. There is no grave, no memory. Nothing." Legolas quietly spoke to Tauriel, hidden behind rocks while keeping a watch on the fortress.
"My lord Legolas. We have to get closer." Tauriel said softly, as to ease the thoughts.
Just then there was a bang, and what could be mistaken of the sound of an army.
"Legolas, what do you see?" Tauriel whispered.
"An army, they are headed to the mountain. We must go, and warn the others." Legolas said urgently, cautiously standing.
Although he stopped to listen, he had heard something other than the army, he heard heavy breathing, of a woman it seemed.
He walked a few slow steps to see a she-elf hidden behind a stone. She looked familiar to him, but he couldn't place where he had seen her.
She had long blond hair (length like a normal she-elf) she was dirty, bruised, worn out. She looked up to Legolas with her deep blue eyes.
"Legolas? My son, Legolas is that you?" She stood shakily, her legs barely holding her up.
"I am Legolas." He said, confused of who this woman was.
"Who are you?" He asked gently, as not to upset her.
"I am your mother." She spoke, weakness taking over she fell to the hard ground in exhaustion.
Legolas quickly took her words in and rushed to her aid, Tauriel at his side, they lead her to the horses they had brought, and Legolas placed her in front of him to ride.
"We will go warn the others, then take her back to Mirkwood." He commanded.
"It is not safe for her near the mountain, especially with the army from the north." Tauriel replied.
"This is the only way, many will die if we do not warn them."
Tauriel understood his urgency and went along with his plan, with that they were off to the mountain. Hidden from the darkness, but fast enough to stop it.

The battle had already begun it seemed, Tauriel had gone off to find Kili, and Legolas was on his search for his father, which he was uncertain was there until moments before.
He searched aimlessly around Dale, if this unconscious woman was his true mother, Thranduil would know.
He came across his father, in a place surrounded by corpses. He stopped his horse and jumped off, holding the she-elf in his arms gently.
"Father!" Legolas spoke loudly, Thranduil whipped his gaze up, his expression soft but cold.
He saw the body in his sons arms, and his facial expression turned to worry.
He rushed over and took a glance at the she-elf, his eyes filling with tears.
"Where did you find her?" He asked Legolas, while taking a hold of his much missed wife in his own arms.
"Gundabad, she claimed to be my mother, she knew my name...father, is this her?" Legolas spoke gently.
"Yes...my son, Legolas..you have found your mother." Thranduil looked back down to his wife, and saw her beauty, although covered in bruises and cuts, he was thankful she was still living.
Legolas turned his gaze to his mother as well, and to their surprise that was when she became conscious.
Her eyes fluttered open, she became tense until her eyes laid upon Thranduil.
"Thranduil." She spoke softly.
"(T/w). Your alive." He replied, tears came to her eyes as well.
"And Legolas, my son." She turned to him.
"You have no idea how pleased and grateful I am to see that you are both alive, I thought the orcs had taken over Mirkwood, this is what they had told me, I tried to escape from them, they caught me only to tell me if I returned I would only be taken prisoner by more orcs. So I was brought back to the fortress..." She spoke urgently, now her eyes flooding with tears of memories she could never lose.
"(T/w), you are safe now my love. Mirkwood is safe, the darkness will not reach our kingdom." Thranduil said.
He held her tigther to his chest, and Legolas came closer so to give his mother a kiss on her head.
"I am grateful to have finally known my mother." He said, Thranduil and his mother looked to their son in awe.
The battle came to an end, the remainder Mirkwood elves returned to the woodland realm, although finding Legolas' mother did not sway him from leaving to find his own adventure.
He did return to his family whenever he could. His father, King Thranduil, and his Queen lived the rest of their lives together, happiness was an understatement to their love.
Although she still had nightmares, she always knew that she was not the only one with battle scars, and that her husband, would always be there to comfort her until she drifted off into slumber.
