Legolas

This is based in the hobbit time period, but at first its before hand.

"Samantha, you must be more careful outside, there is darkness in these woods that are unknown to innocent sight such as yours." Thranduil spoke deep from his seat on the throne.

"It was only a little ride, I didn't mean it as such, My King." You said looking down.

"I know of what you speak, but Samantha, I do not wish to lose you, you are raised here as one of my own, if something was to happen to you..." Thranduil said softly walking down from his throne.

"Nothing will happen, I am perfectly safe." You said reassuring him.

He put a hand on your shoulder, and sighed.

"Do you remember? The day we found you?" Thranduil's voice now gentle.

"Of course." You smiled, and thought of that day.

Your human village was raided by orcs, to which murdered your parents in cold blood.

You could not wipe the image from your mind and the sounds of your mother screaming to run, and never turn back. The yell of pain that came from your father as the orc stabbed their weapon through his chest.

You were a little one, only about 4 years of age, you didn't know your way. You had run for hours it seemed when you came across the woodland realm. You entered the forest not knowing of its whereabouts.

You were weeping violently, your dress torn, dirt covered you, you long brown curly hair knotted, leaves of trees you passed found their way into it and no shoes to protect your feet from the harsh branches spiking up to harm you.

You stayed on the visible path as best you could, until you heard a rustle behind you. You were shaking in fear when a gentle face reached your eyesight. A young elven king, straight blond hair flowing down, armor strapped about him, blue eyes that the ocean couldn't compare too. But a stranger to you. Surrounding him was what looked to be guards, much less of fancy armor.

You stood your ground fearfully, you held tightly onto a small Teddy bear that you had since you were born. Your tears had slowed and your shaking came to a halt.

"Its alright, little one, you are safe here." The elven king spoke softly to you setting out his hand to help you. You took it fearfully.

He carried you back to his kingdom, you hadn't spoken a word. The kindness of the king may of been the thing that saved your life, but your pain was much to fresh to speak.

Within the hour you had met the young prince, Legolas, and through the few years he had grown to be a brotherly figure to you. Thranduil, being as a father. He had grown to let you call him as though as you were now apart of the family.

"May I be dismissed, Father?" You asked snapping out of your thoughts.

"You may." Thranduil smiled at you as you walked so elegantly.

You reached Legolas in the hallways.

"Do tell me you didn't take the blame for me this time, Sam." Legolas spoke with a chuckle, he always called you Sam, which is what you preferred, but Thranduil wished for the more 'proper' approach.

"There was no blame involved, Legolas." You smiled.

You walked along together, drifting off into silly conversation, before reaching your chambers.

You gave him a quick hug, as if on time your maids came in to get you ready for bed, the next morning would be the first time you would get to go on a hunt, Thranduil realized that now that you and Legolas had come to that age, you being 10 years and through some training he could bring you along.

Thranduil lead the way, he had only expected some silly spiders but what was to come was much more tragic.

"Sam! Legolas! Go back to the kingdom!" Thranduil yelled fighting off the foul orcs that had somehow found their way into this realm.

Legolas grabbed your arm, you both ran at your up most speed. But it wasn't enough, you tried to catch up, only ending up on the ground. You had tripped on a branch.

Legolas went to your aid as three orcs came tracking towards you both.

You whipped off the ground and tried to match Legolas speed, only your ankle had been twisted back at the branch and the pain was overwhelming.

You slowed your pace out of pain and the orcs caught you, Thranduil ran towards the area only for another orc to come in his way. Legolas had kept running thinking you were behind him.

Legolas turned around, he couldn't find you. The last thing he saw before guards taking him back to the kingdom was you struggling, crying, punching on a orcs shoulder, as they carried you to believe this would be your last breath.

(5 years later)

You sat around the fire, you still wore the garments you had worn the day you were taken, they had gotten shorter but due to the fact you werent fed very often the size still fit. You never understood why the orcs had kept you alive. Other then to slave over them.

Thus orc pack had managed to wander into the woodland realm, you sensed the kingdom to which you lived once was close, you knew these woods. But you wouldn't say a word of this to the orcs.

You didn't remain with the same orc pack, orcs were much too stupid to stay alive that long, so your group was constantly changed. It seemed there was no escape for you.

You, now 15 years of age, had fallen into a deep sadness, missing your family. The family you had lived with for years, not the filth that you could not escape.

Thranduil and Legolas never left your mind, you were determined to get back to them, if only you had a chance.

"My pretty, we would like some more food..." An orc said in a creepy tone which made your stomach turn.

You never spoke a word, you didn't feel the need too. You just did as you were told.

You got up, and gave the filth more food.

The orcs laughed together feeling accomplished.

It wasn't long before the orcs had grown tired and went off on their own business leaving you alone for the evening.

Just as your eyes got heavier, you heard something in the bushes behind you.

Elves came jumping from the trees, attacking the orcs who were unaware of their surroundings.

Your sight reached every elf in the group, you recognized some of the guards, but there was one particular face that caught your attention.

It looked of Legolas, but matured. The only thing to tell you it was him was a faint memory that you learned to mistrust.

It was minutes before the camp was completely burnt out, the elves remaining.

The elf that looked of Legolas glanced at you, who was cowering near a tree, staring intently.

He slowly walked towards you, not letting his icy blue eyes leave yours.

He was just two feet in front of you when he looked as hurt as you remember.

"Sam?" He asked, his voice deeper then you remembered.

"Legolas." You were tearing up with happiness. As Legolas wrapped you in his embrace.

"We have been searching long and far for you, Sam. Father went after the orc pack that day, only they had gotten too far for him to trace. I am so sorry we took so long to find you...it was all my fault." Legolas was tearing up as well.

"No Legolas, it was never your fault, if I wouldn't have fallen this wouldn't have happened." You said softly separating from the hug.

Legolas turned to a guard.

"Go inform the king, we have found Sam." Legolas smiled at the words that left his mouth. The guards gathered and went off, Legolas out his arm around your shoulders and spoke softly.

"Let's go home."
