Gandalf/Thorin

This is based on the journey to Erebor, you and Gandalf are close friends and he comes to consult you on something.

You sat on a log by the fire, writing in your journal.

Dear journal,

I sit on a log this evening, it seems quite peaceful all around as to all the dwarves are enjoying their time together. It amazes me how well they get along. They truly are phenomenal.
But there is one that has caught my attention, although I believe I haven't caught his. Thorin Oakenshield is his name. Rightful King under the mountain.
Gandalf, has kept by my side, he seems to be hiding something from me in plain sight. That cheeky wizard knows it as well.

You were interrupted by a fit of laughter coming from across the fire, the Durin brothers had pulled another joke on Dwalin and were running around the camp so that he couldn't reach. You chuckled quietly to yourself when you noticed a tall shadow beside you.

You turned your gaze upon Gandalf the grey, your dear old friend. He had a cheeky smile plastered on his face.

"(Y/n), I see you are comfortable." He sat next to you, with a little grunt that came with age.

"As comfortable as I can be on a hard wooden substance." You smiled kindly to him, he chuckled.

"There is something I have been meaning to consult with you about." He suddenly got serious.

"Alright." You said, closing your journal and giving the wizard your full attention.

"Its Thorin, I have noticed that he has taken a certain liking to you. On the contrary, he may be in love with you." Gandalf couldn't hold his smile down.

"Gandalf, you know I am not fond of jokes around the subject of love." You said.

"I am not joking, (y/n). Do not take me for a fool." His smile faded into a serious expression.

You thought, Thorin Oakenshield in love with you, you thought you were dreaming.

You pinched yourself.

"Ouch." You pouted, Gandalf laughed. You had forgotten his presence as you had been caught in your thoughts.

"It does not feel real to you." Gandalf pointed out the obvious.
"Well (y/n), you may want to believe me as I heard this news from the leader, Thorin Oakenshield himself." You whipped your gaze to Gandalf's as fast as possible.

"You did not." You smiled really big, turning red in the cheeks.

"I am no fool." He chuckled.
"Now, if you wish to speak with him of these feelings you may want to scurry along. He's seated by the riverbed." Gandalf smiled.

"Thank you Gandalf, I will go speak with him." You said, giving Gandalf the good hug he deserved, and scurrying off to the river.
