You walked through the halls of erebor, alongside Fili. You had went on the journey with them and helped reclaim it.

The battle was over and everyone was alright, Thorin was back to his normal self and the dwarves would be coming from the blue mountains any day now. You were happy.

You got lost in thought while you stared at your feet. You have had feelings for the eldest Durin prince since the beginning of the journey but he didn't know of it.

All you wanted to do right now was tell him. But you feared it would be too soon and he wouldn't feel the same.

"There must be some reason to why your quiet (y/n). What's bothering you?" Fili asked snapping you out of your thoughts.

"My apologies My Prince I am just not in a talking mood this morning." You said trying to cover up your actual feelings.

"Don't lie to me." He said stopping you and making direct eye contact. His hands still on your shoulders you looked down.

"I-I have no idea what your talking about." You stuttered and felt tingly in your stomach at his touch.

"Really? Look me in the eyes and tell me your reasoning." He said letting go of your shoulders and crossing his arms.

You sighed and looked up to his eyes. The eyes you fell in love with. You couldn't lie to him.

"I'm quiet..." You started and thought about what you were about to do.

"I was just thinking about something, that's all." You said fast hoping he wouldn't ask what it was.

"(Y/n) what is it?" He looked worried.

"Lets keep walking shall we?" You said trying to change the subject.

"Not until you tell me." He said putting his arm out in front of you. You being a dwarf woman your shorter then him.

"I cannot tell you my prince, I fear for your answer." He moved his arm and you walked a few steps ahead.

"Why do you fear my answer if you haven't even told me what your thinking." He said from behind and he had a point.

It was now or never.

"I love you." You said almost instantly after he finished his sentence. Silence.

You didn't bother to turn around, you were too afraid.

Before you could run away you felt his strong arms turn you around so that your faces were only inches apart.

"You have no idea how long I've yearned for those words to leave your mouth." He said and closed the space between you.
