Merry

My first requested imagine ever!
Requested by: IsilwenofRivendell (Hope you like it!)

As a Princess of Rivendell, you are to obey the rules of your kingdom and to work on your royal duties. You were only to go out of your home if needed, but you've never went out around Middle Earth for quite a long time. When your mother was abducted by orcs, your brothers, Elladan and Elrohir rescued her from them. Eventually she sailed off to Valinor (aka. The Undying Lands) for her safety from all evil. Without your mother, your father, Lord Elrond became overprotective of you, your sister Arwen and your brothers and all of you were still grieving for her.

You did not just wanted to remain a princess. You wanted to explore more interesting places around Middle Earth to meet and talk to new people with every different race. You wanted to be free and independent no matter what. Everytime you walk to the balcony of your chamber, you daydreamed and fantasized about what it would be like to go on cool adventures and had many curiosity about the other lands outside of your kingdom. No matter how much you begged and nagged your father to go out and explore, he refused.

One night, you sneaked out of Rivendell and left the kingdom while everyone was asleep. You galloped on your dapple horse across the bridge and into the wild. You felt free as a bird and cool, fresh air all around you. A full moon brightened up the night sky, with millions of stars shimmering over Middle Earth. You never felt this moment of your life for so long. After some time riding out into the woods and the clearing, she heard a loud screeching and screaming from the distance. With your sharp vision, there were Ringwraiths in black cloaks on Weathertop, trying to kill off the four hobbits and Aragorn, your sister's love interest!

With your strength, you and your horse thundered toward the rocky hill and you swiftly dismounted it. You climbed up to the top of the hill and joined them to fight off the Ringwraiths one by one. When the Nazgul came toward one of the blonde hobbits nearby, you flipped around, pushed the young hobbit aside and allowed yourself to be pierced by the Nazgul's Morgul blade in the stomach.

"Strider!" One of the hobbits yelled to Aragorn. Aragorn ran up to you and Frodo, who was also stabbed as well. After ambushing the Ringwraiths, they took both of you to the forest to find athelas for healing, but six of you were found by your sister, Arwen, who had been looking everywhere for you and Aragorn.

"(Y/N), why did you not listen to Ada...?" Arwen muttered in frustration. You managed to answer her question but you were too struggling to say something. Arwen and Aragorn helped you and Frodo up to her horse and she mounted between you and the hobbit. She rode frantically hard and the three of you were found by the Ringwraiths again. The three of you finally rode across the river with the nine Black Riders stopping their tracks.

"Give up the halfling, She-Elf!" You heard them say, but you first didn't know which elf they were talking to.

Arwen drew her sword Hadhafang for defense. "If you want him, come and claim him!" She commanded, with a pitch of her own courage. As the Ringwraiths rode across the river, Arwen called out the waters with her ancient spell and a great wave of horses washed the Ringwraiths away. She then reached to Rivendell at last and took you and Frodo to the infirmary.

A few days later.....

"(Y/N), wake up!" A strict voice called.

"Ada?" You blinked a few times and noticed that you were in the healer's room. You were still pretty tired from your sleep and your wound was completely healed. You slowly got up from the bed and gave Lord Elrond a half-hearted smile. But your father shot you an angry look. You were totally busted.

"(Y/N), I'm very angry and disappointed in you." Lord Elrond scolded. "You could have been killed that night! You deliberately disobeyed me after I told you multiple times before, never to go out without a guard, even without my permission!"

You hung your head down in shame. "But Ada, I didn't mean for any of...."

"I'm only doing this because I love you!" Elrond interrupted. "I don't want to lose you, your sister and your brothers! Don't you remember what happened to your mother when you were an elfling?"

"Yes, Ada." You said with a pitch of sass that could almost irritate him. Still you felt guilty for completely defying him. "She sailed to Valinor after being abducted by the Orc baddies, blah blah blah and I'm sorry."

Lord Elrond was stunned by your response, thinking of how could a Princess be showing off such attitude behaviour.

"Don't respond to me that way, young lady!" Elrond warned you. "One day, you will sail West with all the other Elves. That is for you to be safe from the dangers around this land." Elrond continued. "I'm glad that you're alive. Because you could have been dead too. Now, you go out to that garden and think about everything I told you."

"Yes, Ada." You finally did as your father told you. You slid out of the bed, walked out to the gardens and studied the flowers, plants and berries, including everything that happened to you that night with Aragorn and the hobbits. How could all these problems happen to you? You just wanted to go on adventures to see and experience many things you've never done other than your royal duties. You felt like how your father being too overprotective of you, siblings and your people has crossed the line way too far enough, especially after he reprimanded you.

"Hi there, miss!" You were snapped of your thoughts and turned to see a blonde hobbit with a big smile behind you. "Oh hello, little one." You greeted him. "What are you doing here? I didn't get your name earlier."

"I'm Meriadoc Brandybuck." He said as he took your hand and kissed it. "Merry from the Shire. You're the one who saved my life that night." You blushed a bit by his gesture. You seemed to like this hobbit.

"Yes. I'm (Y/N). I saved you back on the Weathertop and got injured by one of the Nazgul." You replied. "I'm alright for now."

"Just want to say thank-you for saving me, your highness." Merry said, bowing to you. "I'm really sorry that you had to go through this trouble."

"You didn't have to thank me, Merry." You said. "I did what I could do best. And just call me (Y/N)." As both of you started to have some conversation, Merry also told you about life back his homeland, the Shire. He also told stories of how he and his friend Pippin get caught by Farmer Maggot for sneaking in his farm, goofing around with Gandalf's fireworks and all the consequences. You laughed most of the time hearing Merry's story. You also told him about how life was like in Rivendell and how overprotective your father was. This made Merry comfort you over this problem. After all the chit-chat and relaxation in the garden, Merry turned to his attention to some ripe carrots.

"Would you like some?" You asked.

"Yes, please!" Merry replied excitedly. You picked the carrot from the ground, cleaned it with water and handed it over to the hobbit. Merry hungrily ate the carrot. "Nice and crispy, just the way I like! Thank you, (Y/N)." He said with his mouth full. You chuckled, thinking about how funny and bubbly hobbits are. "You are most welcome, Merry." You kissed the hobbit on cheek, causing him to blush rosy red. It's almost like both of you were in love. "I have to get back in now." You said. "I'll see you soon, Merry."

"I have to go check on my friend Frodo too to see if he's alright." Merry said back, smiling. "Love you, Princess (Y/N)!"

"I love you too, Merry!" You giggled, waving back at him. "It was a pleasure to meet you!" As you finally went back inside the palace and to your chamber, you laid yourself in your bed, with your mind clouded with an adorable hobbit you ever saw. Like Arwen, you finally started to fall for the man who is of a different race, with a bubbly and unique personality.
