Imagine Pop!Thorin and chicken nuggets

This is my Thorin Pop! and he is just adorable! Some pictures of him on his adventures are posted on my Tumblr page. But I decided to write the stories for them on here. Because we all like some real Thorin Oakenshield in our lives.

So this is an imagine, or rather short story, that came from my own mind and hungry tummy.

"Where am I?" Thorin asked. He opened is eyes, and was met with a whole new world that he had never seen before.

The woman who had opened the box, opened his cell, just a few days ago was here again. She took him everywhere so he had already learned quite a few things from this world. She had a bird and a rabbit in her bedroom that she called 'Kili' and 'Dwalin'.

The rabbit he could understand. The beards were almost identical.

He knew why he was made and why he was shipped here. In the factory the dolls used to tell each other tales of what the outside world looked like.

Some said that there was no hope, pain or, dare he say it, the fear for never being unpacked.

They were vinyl dolls so they weren't exactly toys. Collectors items was what they were called. There were only a few of them, hopefully, that would never leave their box. Others would see the outside world.

Thorin was sure of it.

And now he was here.

The woman was nice enough. As mentioned before, he saw a lot of the world he was now living in. Though he couldn't undertand a lot of what she was saying to him.

He grew up in a Japanese factory so Dutch was foreign to him. But he would learn in time. Just like he had learned English when he lived with the sailors.

He was safe here, didn't have to worry that he might get thrown out some day. The only thing that slightly annoyed him that the woman seemed uncapable of not taking pictures of him. Sometimes it was a bit annoying.

But Thorin could bare it.

It brought a smile to her lips and so, in turn, did he. He could never show her that he was alive because she was a human. She wouldn't understand.

Until that one night in his first week when he made a mistake.

"Ja mam, ik weet het! (Yes mom, I know!)" the woman said annoyed. Thorin could hear that she was annoyed. If only she would speak in English, he would understand her. Maybe even lend her a hand if she needed one.

He wasn't supposed to move on his own when there was a human in the room, but she treated him right. He couldn't just sit quietly if something happend to her.

The woman sat down with her plate in her hands. And he saw it again. The gleam in her eyes.

"Oh no" he thought to  himself.

And indeed, she grabbed her camera and put everything in place.

The smell of the food was so good. He just had to take a bite... Thorin outstretched his hand to grab a small piece of the chicken. He needed a small bit of food. If only it was a little bit.

Not because he had to eat but because it smelt so good.

She was focused on her camera anyway so she couldn't see what he was doing.

Now why was she gaping at him like a fish? Oh...

"It is not what it looks like" Thorin said.

The woman pointed at him. "Y-you talk?" she asked quietly.

Thorin tried to put on a smile and put his sword away. "You are asleep, simply dreaming. It is alright" he tried to calm her down.

She slowly nodded her head. "A-aaye. That must be it. I am not talking to my Thorin doll right now. I am not losing my mind. Not losing it."

"I AM NOT A DOLL!" Thorin shouted before he could stop it.

The woman pulled her hand back like he had just stung her.

"Look" Thorin began, "if you just lay down and go to sleep then-"

"For how long have you been able to talk?" she interupted him.

Thorin mastered to put his smile back on his face. "I thougt we had just concluded that you are asleep. That means that I can't talk. Right?"

He didn't exactly get what she was doing when she pinched herself. Maybe it was a ritual here in this country.

"I am not asleep" she muttered to herself.

That was not good.

"So this is actually happening" she said, getting up and pacing around her room. "Ï am talking to Thorin. Not the real one because he isn't real. But this doll, sorry, vinyl pop just... Oh my." She sat down on her bed.

Thorin rolled his eyes and grabbed a piece of the chicken. He was here now anyway. "You are not going mad" he said in between bites. "We all talk but we just don't do it in front of humans."

He looked up at you to find that the woman was staring at something else but him. This hurt him a bit. "I hope you will let me stay with you. Even though I would like it if you talked to me more often. You don't have the others here so I don't have much company."

Now she looked down at him. She outstretched her hand and Thorin let her pick him up.

"Maybe I should just turn in for the night. I could use some sleep" she said, putting him on his spot on her headboard.

Thorin smiled as she laid down, curled up beneath her covers.

He moved from his spot to pull the blanket up until she was fully covered. Hopefully she would let him stay with her. Talk to him a little more often. Or she would simply think it was a dream.

Either way, there was chicken waiting for him on the plate. It would be a waste of food to let it wait there getting colder every second.
