Imagine Ori defending your honor

Imagine from thereandbackagainimaginex (character is changed from Thorin to Ori); Imagine Ori defending your honor when the elf king calls you a weak little human.

"To what do I owe the honour to see your despicable faces on this otherwise glorious afternoon?" Thranduil slowly walked down his throne. He gracefully grabbed a glass of wine from a tray like he had practiced it.

And you half expected that he had done so. Practicing to make a good impression on his enemies.

No one answered him because the leader of your small company also kept quiet. They only glared at him from beneath big, dark eyebrows.

He didn't even blink an eye.

Thranduil brought the glass to his lips and took a sip. He brought the glass up to hold it against the light. "Curious how such little things, like yourselves, can be so annoying and steadfast." He smiled to himself. "Walking around on ground that isn't yours."

"I hardly doubt you can actually claim land for your own" Bilbo said thoughtfully. He meant well in his own hobbit way.

Dori elbowed him from behind. "How else do you think kingdoms are formed?" he asked sharply.

The elven king rolled his eyes. "Just because you don't understand the ways of other races doesn't mean that they are wrong, dwarf." He showed the hobbit a little smile. "On the other hand, you couldn't be more wrong hobbit."

The dwarves formed a tighter circle with Bilbo, Ori and you pushed further back.

"Maybe you think you can throw a tantrum in front of your own people but at least you now have the decency to keep your mouth shut" Thranduil said, talking to Thorin now.

Thorin's jaw clenched but didn't say anything back to him.

A smug smile played on Thranduil's lips. "And even your abilities as a leader should be questioned."

"HOW DARE YOU!"

"YOU FILTHY TREE-SHAGGER!"

"OUR KING IS THE GREATEST!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!"

"COME HERE AND I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT SHOULD BE QUESTIONED!"

Thranduil got what he wanted. Finally the silence stopped and he got a reaction.

But Thorin was still silent. He knew the games a king could play. His father and grandfather had taught him how to get a response from silent prisoners. And he knew how the elven king would play this game.

He wouldn't show his weakness to the elf. Not now. Not ever.

Thranduil gestured for a maid to bring him some more wine. "Just looking at your company is prove enough."

Thorin inhaled sharply, raising his chin. "My company is filled with trustworthy, loyal man. That is more then I can say about your guards."

"Is that so? My man head my every word." He snapped his fingers and immediately thirty guards rushed in with their weapons drawn. "Impressed? You should be" Thranduil said with a smug smile.

The elven king let his eyes wander over all the dwarves. Naturally the stronger ones were standing in front surrounding the weaker members. There were only fourteen of them standing in front of him. His guards had not informed him of others. This was just sad.

Especially the small member he spotted in the middle.

"You even brought a woman with you. How honorable."

"Now you listen to me you stuck up little twat!" you shouted. So far you had kept quiet (so that you as the reader might have not even noticed that you were also there). But enough was enough.

The company wouldn't let you through so you were forced to remain in the middle. You stomped on the ground with you left foot.

Thranduil's eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"You have no right to talk to me like that! Just because you are hiding in this little bark of yours doesn't mean that you own everything you took a crap on!"

Dori and Gloin shot you warning glares. One of them was a father, after all, and the other a mother hen.

"And another thing-"

Thranduil raised his hand to silence you. "Stop, you are giving me a headache." He spun around, his dress impressively swaying with him like it was made to impress and made with sass. "Oakenshield just try to keep this weak little human under control."

"SHE IS NOT A WEAK LITTLE HUMAN!"

Everyone silenced in shock. Others wanted to come to your defense but no one expected to hear that particular voice. Dori and Nori tried to hush their little brother.

"No! This time I won't be quiet!" He elbowed his way past Dwalin. Which was pretty impressive in itself.

"You!" He pointed an angry, trembling finger at Thranduil. "You have no idea what she has done for us! How brave she has been and how many fears she has conquered in the small time that we know her!

Don't you dare talk about one of us like that! Especially not a woman, that is disgraceful. I have read stories about the elves. I even got a chance to meet them in Rivendell." He took a moment to take a breath.

"And even though I don't understand why you only eat green food I have found that at least they were kind. They had respect for woman, for the living things around them. The only thing I see here is a kingdom lead by fear of the outside world."

Thranduil's face was positively red. Not because he was blushing but out of pure anger.

"If only you would open your eyes to see what others can offer. If you would open your mind instead of hiding inside your throne room. At least our king goes out with his guards to check if his kingdom is still safe. He has the heart to risk his own life.

The same can not be said for you. So don't you dare compare my king to yours. And don't you dare to belittle this brave friend of mine." Ori didn't back down.

And the others had his back. As one they stood in front of the elven king. The one who had tried to get the upper hand.

"Take them to their cells" he ordered.

And if he heard someone mutter that the dwarves had won, then he ignored that for now.
