Lord Elrond didn't mind unexpected guests. Like all other elves in his kingdom, he knew that you had to be welcoming and friendly. Except if the unexpected guests were orcs. They needed to be slaughtered. At all cost.

Dwarves, he could live with. For now. If they wouldn't destory his entire kingdom.

During the day he tried to figure out what it was they were planning on traveling to. For some reason he felt as if his old friend, Gandalf, was keeping something from him. An eerie feeling, you could say. You never knew with those wizards.

He was so busy with keeping the dwarven king on his goodside, that he didn't notice some of the dwarves eyeing his love interest.

Little did they know they were also being watched by their own king.

Dinner time rolled around and they all sat down at the table to enjoy a nice meal. You sat at the table with the guests because they needed to be entertained. And because you were the only elf who could sit at the table with the elves.

Elrond regretted his decision almost immediately when he noticed the attention you attracted from one dwarven prince. He tried to keep his attention focused on the conversation at hand.

Thorin Oakenshield proved to be a man of little conversation. The elven lord had to prob to get any answer from the king. Sometimes the wizard answered for him.

How peculair.

Elrond knew of the hatred the dwarves felt towards the elves. He himself was familair with a similar feeling. Though he thought that he was better at hiding it.

However, every time he heard you giggle it seemed to be because the brunette prince was saying something to you. Lord Elrond frowned. You never giggled that way when he said something funny. That simply wouldn't do.

He excused himself from the table to hear what was being said to you. As soon as he left, the wizard and dwarven king had a hushed discussion. Elrond didn't care enough to eavesdrop.

His eyes were set on a more precious prize; the smile on your lips. That wasn't caused by him.

"And so I just told Dwalin that I had never seen such a beautiful elf such as yourself" the prince said. He stared at you with a dreamy gleam in his eyes.

Lord Elrond' blood started boiling. How could he be so blunt towards a lady?

Your high pitched giggle that normally filled his ears with joy, now stabbed him in the heart.

"Prince Kili surely you have seen that there are far prettier elven maidens around here?" you asked innocently. Elrond felt like correcting you himself.

The dwarf that was apparently called Kili shook his head. He looked around. "To be fair, I don't think anyone here can match your beauty my lady" he said, looking like he meant it. "What do you like to do in your spare time?"

Though Elrond agreed with the dwarf on the subject of your beauty compared to that of others, he didn't want another man to tell you that. It should be his mouth that brought those words to your ears.

He cleared his throat before the conversation could continue. "My lady (y/n)?"

You looked over your shoulder, smiling when you noticed your king. You quickly rose to your feet. "My Lord Elrond" you said, bowing your head in respect.

"Will you accompany me for a walk? There is something urgent we must discuss." He nodded to his guests as he lead you away. If he saw Gandalf smiling his way from the corner of his eye, then he chose to ignore that.

"Is something the matter, my lord?" you asked.

"Nothing that we can discuss here in the open" he answered vaguely.

You weren't sure where you were going but your curiosity and concern told you to just go along. Whatever it was, it must be very urgent for your lord to behave this way.

To your surprise you ended up in front of his private chambers. And then he opened the door, gesturing for you to enter. "What is it that is so urgent we must discuss it here?" you asked. The small hairs on your arms were standing upright. Something was in the air.

Elrond kept his eyes on you as he walked closer. "A dwarf flirting with you? That simply won't do." He was standing in front of you. Both aware of the tiny amount of space left in between you. "I have never felt a greater urge to kiss someone."

You couldn't control yourself. You were on him within the blink of an eye.

Elrond' eyes widened in shock, he hadn't expected this. But your lips felt tender and the scent of roses enveloped him now that you were so close to him. He couldn't resist.

His left hand laid on the back of your head, bringing your lips closer to his own.

With his other hand he played with some strands of your long hair. "You have no idea for how long I wanted this" he said, his voice unsteady.

You smiled, catching your breath from that first kiss. "Then why didn't you act on it sooner?"

It turned out you were a whole lot more confident with this kind of thing than Elrond himself. Before he could even think of the next step, you were already leading him towards the bed. Afterwards he didn't remember how both of your clothing ended up on the floor.

But it did.

And he ended up laying on his back. You were kissing him passionately and he was undergoing it all with sheer happiness. Finally you knew what he felt for you.

"My lord, please allow me to return the pleasure you have given me?"

Your pupils were widened, pure bless and need for your lord. Elrond couldn't deny you anything. Especially when you looked at him like that. "Only if you allow me to give you pleasure in return." With one unexpected twist did he switch the two of you around. He ended up on top with you beneath him.

He placed one more loving kiss on your lips before lowering himself onto you.

You kept your eyes on each other as he entered you.

At first you could feel the burn between your thighs, the feeling of getting stretched. His hands tried to soothe the aching feeling away. It didn't really work but it was something else you could focus on.

When he moved his eyes stayed on you, occassionally telling you to keep your eyes open. Which was hard when your lover knew exactly where to find that one special spot.

His hips moved ever so slowly, exploring every inch of your body that was given to him.

Your hands rested on his shoulders, while you tried to keep looking at him.

There were times where your eyes shut out of their own accord. But when you were reaching your climax you managed to keep them wide open. Elrond took in every detail of your face when you toppled over the edge.

He couldn't believe that such a beautiful elf laid in his arms. A beauty that he would never forget but hoped to see more often.

The fingers that hold onto his shoulders regained some strength. Slowly he started to put some more strength behind his pushes. His hips rolled against yours in a more drawn out manner. The force, however, was beginning to increase.

His moans reached new depths and finally, his eyes closed.

"Come for me, my love" you spoke softly. It was the last push he needed.

You laid next to each other, catching your breath after a few blissful hours.

"We probably need to return to our guests" you said, breaking the silence. All you received was a tired hum from the man next to you.

A wet kiss landed on your right shoulder. "I am sure they have found a way to entertain themselves." Elrond lazily wrapped himself around you. "I have a feeling the dwarves wouldn't enjoy our company that much anyway."

You giggled. "One dwarf in particular seemed to feel alright towards us."

He raised an eyebrow. "You mean the dwarven prince? I think you are right."

"He seemed to be taking a liking to all of us. I even saw him wink at some of the males. Do dwarves swing both ways?"

Elrond laughed silently. "We shouldn't gossip, my beloved (y/n)." He traced your jaw with his thumb. "To answer your question, it seems like at least that particular dwarf does. Or he simply can not tell the difference between male and female elves."

It was your turn to frown. "The difference is not that difficult. It is their race that is difficult to understand."

Lord Elrond propped himself up on one arm. "Dwarves care a lot about their craftmanship, about their reputation and themselves. They are not overly concerned with others. Not when your not kin, that is."

You nodded. "That I do know. I was refering to the difference between female and male dwarves. Are there even female dwarves? Leylana once told me that dwarves are made out of stone. So they don't need woman."

Elrond smiled softly at you. "That is a tale that many creatures seem to believe. However, the real story is much simpler."

When you looked at him expectedly, he continued; "Dwarves keep their woman well hidden from view. They are well outnumbered by the man. When a dwarven girl is born she is protected by the entire family. They are precious to dwarves."

You looked at the ceiling above you. "That is romantic, in a way."

Elrond didn't comment. He nuzzled your hair, inhaling the lovely scent of roses. "I can re-do your braids if you would like me to?" he said, his voice sounded muffled because of your hair.

"That would be an honor my Lord." You sat up so that he could sit behind you. His fingers worked quickly, carefully and skillfully. A question popped up in your head as he was working on your hair. "My lord Elrond... forgive me for asking, but where is the mother of Arwen?"

You felt him still behind you. Being a couple of centuries younger than Elrond, you were close enough to get courted by him. But all you knew was that he had children. And that the mother was not there.

Elrond took a deep breath. "I lost her."

"My apologies for asking-"

His hand rested on your shoulder. "Don't be. You have a right to know. All I can tell you is that I won't lose you that way." He softly squeezed your shoulder.
