Imagine Bilbo and Gollum Happily Ever After

I really liked doing the one before this so I went looking for some more old imagines that I have written. And one that has always been one of my favorites is the one about Smeagol/Gollum getting a happy ending too.

This was the third imagine that I have ever written. And I think it would be quite cute to write how he behaves in his new home in the Shire. It ended up as a; Just a day in the life of Smeagol and Bilbo.

"Master Bilbo! Master Bilbo!" Smeagol shouted excitedly. He was jumping up and down the furniture of the hobbits' living room. "Are we going out today?"

Bilbo smiled kindly and hid his exhaustion. It was nice and all to have Smeagol living with him. Now he didn't have to do all the chores on his own. That meant more relaxing time for both of them.

But every now and then the 'hobbit' could take a lot of energy from him by being so exciting about everything.

He didn't blame him. Spending all those decades hidden, on your own with only an evil voice to keep you company all day and night. It would drive everyone insane.

"We are going out in a little bit. All we need is our shopping basket and some coins. I can't imagine Peter giving us another cheese for free" he said jokingly.

Smeagol had already ran off to the kitchen to grab the basket they would need.

All sorts of items fitted in it. Sometimes Bilbo thought that he could literally transport everything in it. Like there was a hole in the bottom and everything was stored in a magical safe. His imagination ran crazy at times.

Whether that had something to do with the ring in Bilbo's pocket was up for discussion.

The hobbit wandered off to his personal chamber to get the money. "One pumpkin, some cheese and... pepper and salt would be helpful as well" he said.

The times that he found himself talking to himself out loud had increased over the years.

"Master! I have the basket. Me is ready to leave!" Smeagol shouted. Bilbo smiled. They had everything now so they could leave. He reached for his pocket to get some extra strength.

"We better hurry then!" Bilbo replied.

Together they rushed out of the house and calmly went on their way to the market.

Smeagol didn't always stay on the path with the other hobbit. There were just too many things next to the road that captured his attention. As long as he didn't jump into someone's garden, Bilbo didn't see the harm.

Every now and then he would chase some animals but that wasn't a problem anymore. After several months of training, Smeagol had learned that he didn't need to eat them.

There was more than enough food for both of them waiting at Bag End.

They still lived together even after all those years. The townspeople of the Shire felt more safe this way. And Bilbo felt like it didn't harm either one of them. So why fix things that didn't need fixing?

"Smeagol, be careful out there!" Bilbo warned when he saw Smeagol rushing down a hill. Down that hill was a deep lake.

He could swim but Bilbo rather not take the chance.

Smeagol rushed back up the hill to continue exploring on the other side.

Bilbo shook his head, laughing. He wouldn't trade his new found friend for anyone in the world. He was welcome company to the otherwise lonesome and cold nights.

The only boundary that they had both wanted was that they didn't sleep together. There were some things like privacy and decency that neither of them wanted to give up. Sleeping was one of those things.

"Master! I has found berries!" And sure enough, Smeagol returned with some red stains in his hands. "Where have they gone? Smeagol just had them master!"

Bilbo inspected his hands. "I think you have squeezed them a little too hard" he explained kindly. Seeing his friends' sad face he continued; "Can you show me where you found them? We can pick some and put them safely away in our basket."

Smeagol's eyes widened in exitement. "Follow me master!" He ran off before Bilbo could pick his basket back up to run after him. "Not that fast Smeagol!" he yelled after his friend.

"Goodmorning Bilbo!" a hobbit yelled as he spotted the hobbit running through the fields.

Bilbo waved him a goodday. "Smeagol!" he yelled after his friend. The other hobbit didn't stop though. "What a sight we must be" Bilbo couldn't to think.

And sure enough, many hobbits stopped their morning routine to watch the pair running off in the distance.

"They are probably going on another adventure soon" a wife told her husband. She shook her head. "Always looking for trouble those two. I tell you, one day they won't return because they are off living with elves."

Her husband snorted. "Those creatures don't exist dear."

"Smeagol!" Bilbo stopped, breathing heavily. His stamina apparently left him because he was done for the rest of the day. And he still had to walk all the way to the market. Bugger.

"Here master! Over here!"

Bilbo heard his friend calling out for him somewhere off in the distance. He had no other choice but to follow his voice. He couldn't leave him out there on his own now that he found the berries.

It was possible that it was another bush because the first time Bilbo hadn't seen him run off this far.

"Are you sure this is the right bush?" he asked as he approached the bush his friend had pointed to. He couldn't see any berries so he felt a little confused.

"Here is a big one master Bilbo!"

Bilbo stopped dead in his tracks. "Smeagol! Come here!" he hissed.

Because there instead of a bush filled with berries, hang a buzzing beehive. Smeagol looked at it and poked it with his finger. "Master, we use these for pie! It is delicious!"

"Smeagol! That is a beehive not berries!" Bilbo hissed. "Come here!" He stomped one foot on the ground.

Smeagol finally listened to him and ran towards Bilbo. "Stupid bee-zes!" Smeagol picked up a stick and threw it at the beehive...

"RUN!" Bilbo grabbed one of Smeagols' arms and ran for his life. He didn't stop to see if the bees very following them. That was a risk he wasn't willing to take. Besides, when they were just a few feet away he could hear the buzzing increasing.

And the sound was coming closer.

"WE HAVE TO MAKE FOR THE LAKE ON THE OTHER SIDE!" Bilbo yelled.

They ran back all the way towards the other side of the hill. On their way they crossed the same houses.

The woman threw her laundry in her laundry basket. "You see, Hilbert! I was right! They went off on another adventure again!" she shouted to her husband who was just grinning when he saw the pair.

"Let them be dear. They get themselves into trouble, not the rest of us" he said calmly.
