Imagine kissing Kili in the rain - part 2
~ This is the second part of kissing Kili in the rain, as was again requested by @PurpleLiciousUnicorn . Now you will return to Erebor and find out how Thorin feels about the new courtship. ~
Kili and you walked back to Erebor together. The rain stopped pouring down soon after you had decided to stay in the dwarven Kingdom. Kili had showed you your own feelings for him. And he had shown his in return. You still couldn't believe the dwarf prince actually fell for you. It was like a dream coming true. But everything would be alright from now on. Nothing would stand in your way.
At least, that's what you thought when you walked back and hadn't faced Thorin yet. Kili tried to assure you it would be alright. After all, didn't his uncle want him to be happy? When you walked back in the mountain Bofur and Bifur came running at you. 'Where were you two? They are looking everywhere!' Bofur said, relieved to find you in one piece. Kili swung his arm around your shoulders. 'Everything's alright, we were just enjoying the rain' he joked. Bofur took one look at the arm around your shoulder and turned around. 'Follow me, your uncle is worried.' Kili shrugged and the two of you followed Bofur.
Several dwarves in the hallway stopped and stared as you walked by. Many of them even pointed at you and whispered in Khuzdul. 'What are they saying?' you whispered to Kili. He shrugged. 'I don't know. My attention is focused on you only' he flirted. Your cheeks heated up and you decided to ignore the dwarves around you. You neared the royal hall and Bofur had only knocked once when the door was pulled open. Dis stood in the doorway, a worried look spread on her face. 'KILI! Where were you? We looked everywhere!' she shouted and dragged her youngest son inside. 'Auw! You don't have to pull my ear! I'm not a dwarfling anymore' he protested.
'You sure act like one brother' Fili said in a stern voice. Dis made Kili sit down on the couch in the middle of the room. She stood in front of him with her arms crossed and an angry look on her face. 'Where were you?!' she shouted again. Kili didn't dare to look his mother in the eyes. Instead he focused on the rug beneath his feet. 'I was outside lo...' Kili started. 'Look at me when you're talking to me!' Dis ordered. Kili took a deep breath before looking his mother in the eyes. 'I was outside looking for (y/n), I couldn't find her anywhere' Kili explained. At this point you noticed Thorin standing against the fireplace. He hadn't said a word until now, letting Dis handle her own son.
Now he pushed himself off from the wood and glared at you. 'And why were you outside?' You found it difficult to look straight into his eyes. He always had a way of silencing you without saying a word or interrupting you in any way. 'I... I was... that is... out there....' you muttered. 'That is not an answer' Thorin shot back. Your shoulders tensed and you took a step back. You didn't want to get in trouble with the King. Kili got up from the couch before Dis could stop him and wrapped his arm back around you. 'She has done nothing wrong. She wanted to go back to her village because she didn't feel welcome here. I told her that she is welcome to stay here for as long as she wants. I told her she can stay by my side' he said, challenging anyone in the room to speak ill of you.
'What do you mean 'by my side'?' Thorin said in a low voice. Dis' arms slowly fell down beside her body as a small smile formed on her lips. 'You don't mean?' she asked, her eyes hopeful. Kili nodded. '(Y/N) and I are courting. So she will stay by my side' Kili emphasized on the courting part. A high-pitched squeak left Dis's mouth as she ran towards her youngest son. 'I'm so happy that you've found your One! Let me know if you need anything!' she said, cupping Kili's cheeks. 'And you' Dis said, looking at you 'I'm happy that my son found such a nice lass!' Fili and Kili banged their heads together as Dis was busy to advise you on future wedding dresses. 'Uncle, aren't you happy?'
Everyone stopped talking and looked at Thorin. He looked like he was ready to explode with anger. 'Dis, Fili, out' he mastered to say through gritted teeth. When they left the royal hall you wanted to run after them. Thorin turned around from you, watching the flames burning the wood. 'Are you in love with her?' he asked after a while. Kili nodded determinedly. 'I do uncle.' More silence. 'And you love him?' Your heart was beating at an alarming pace. 'I do my King.' Kili walked closer to you, your shoulders barely touching. 'If you're concerned about our courtship, uncle, I'm not asking for your permission' Kili said bravely. At that Thorin turned around, his eyes shooting fire.
'I'm your uncle and your King, you will listen to me' he growled. 'What were you thinking? Courting a human!' he shouted. Kili didn't take a step back, instead he placed himself in front of you. '(Y/N) has become a friend of us during the quest. Don't treat her like she is an elf.' The two Durin's were looking each other straight in the eyes. You didn't dare to say another word. You were sure Thorin would stare you to death when his eyes would find you again. 'It doesn't matter if she helped us on our quest or not.' Kili let out a sarcastic laugh. 'What more does she need to do to prove her worth to you? She has never left our side, even defended you during the battle... you owe her your life' Kili spoke.
You didn't look at his face but you could swear you could feel the anger radiating from his body. There was a long silence. You could feel the tension in the room and it made you highly uncomfortable. This was the exact reason why you hadn't told Kili how you truly felt about him. '(Y/N)' Thorin said, making you look up at him immediately. His features had softened a bit but he was still angry with the news. 'Listen to me, and listen carefully.' You nodded frantically. 'If you hurt my nephew in anyway, or if I find out you don't take this courtship seriously, I will have your head. Is that clear?' he asked. 'Aye' was the only answer you could master. 'If this courtship fails she has to go back to her own village' Thorin said to Kili.
He didn't respond in anyway. 'You can't teach her our language or our rituals, accept those for courting. Did I make myself clear?' he said in a low threatening voice. 'Aye' Kili said. 'Very well then, you have my blessing for now. But don't be surprised if our people don't approve of your courtship' he said and without waiting for a response he walked off towards his private chambers.
A few months later your courtship with Kili was doing fine and the dwarves of Erebor didn't have a problem with the courtship at all. Especially the Company had been very excited to hear about it. Dis would teach you all about dwarf courting and Fili was already helping you to prepare your final gift for Kili. When you entered the fourth step you found out that Thorin had advised Kili to show you his respect for you by teaching you some words in Khuzdul. You didn't know when exactly he had turned around but you were more then welcome to become a member of his kin now.
