Imagine Kili handing you tea

~ Based on this imagine from imaginexhobbit: Imagine Kili handing you tea, and when you're finished drinking it the bottom says: Marry me. ~

You were huddled up in a big chair in Beorn's house. It was way too large for you but it only made it feel more comfortable. The cushions were large as well, however, they were also great to cuddle up to. You could get used to this life. The Company had only stayed here for two days now but you could picture your life always being this way from that point on. Every morning you would help your host with feeding the animals and working on the land. It was amazing to you to see what kind of a connection Beorn had with all of his animals. The dwarves didn't want much to do with their host, but you were trying to learn as much from him as you could. No one had ever been able to tell you as much about nature as Beorn had told you yesterday. Not even the elves came close.

So, here you were, relaxing in one of the enormous chairs. You had already fed the animals and done some work in the garden and Beorn had told you to get some rest. For a moment you wanted to refuge but then you felt how tired your muscles were. They really needed some rest. And nothing could help you relax but to sit in a chair and reading one of your favourite books. It was silent in the house. The dwarves were all outside, probably looking for hidden treasure in the ground. Bilbo was probably somewhere following the bees. He had taken it upon himself to study them as best as he could. He found them incredibly interesting after he had seen one right above his nose as he woke up one morning. And Gandalf was... no one really knew what he was doing.

Just a few more pages and you would have finished your book. Too bad the book had only 1,200 pages. You would have to find something bigger for the afternoon to read. Maybe it wasn't the number of pages that made you read fast. Maybe it had more to do with the fact that you had already read the book at least thirty times. However, you couldn't get enough of it. The story was about a young hobbit lass who dared to go on an adventure. She met many creatures and had many adventures in her life. Someday you would be like her, going on adventures whenever you wished. Not paying attention to the weird looks the other hobbits would send your way. And they would send you weird looks. Most hobbits wouldn't even admit that this book was written, surely not by one of their own. Sometimes, hobbits could be quite ignorant, you thought.

'Didn't you start reading that book only this morning?' You looked up from your book and found a confused looking Kili in front of you. A soft smile appeared on your lips. 'Aye, I did master dwarf.' Kili raised an eyebrow. 'Did you skip some pages then?' You chuckled. 'I didn't Kili, I just read this book a few too many times' you admitted. Kili smiled. 'You should still teach me how to read that fast some day.' A comfortable silence fell between the two of you. 'I saw you were reading so I, I am making some tea for you' he offered, not meeting your eyes. 'That would be wonderful Kili' you said. He met your eyes and immediately turned around, walking towards the kitchen. 'I think I hear the kettle' he stammered as he disappeared through the door. You laughed and continued reading your book. Kili wanted to ask you something but he probably didn't know how to ask the question.

You had been courting for a few months now, ever since he had tried to safe you from the trolls. Normally, he was a confident young dwarf, but whenever he wanted to ask you something important, he started mumbling or stuttering. It was quite adorable to you. His uncle would just roll his eyes and Fili would, usually, stand by his side to help him. But not now. When Kili came back with one of the smaller mugs, you moved a little on the chair so that you could sit in it together. Kili handed you the mug and looked at you expectantly. 'Thank you Kili' you said and put the mug down to continue reading. However, you felt his eyes were still on you. 'Aren't you thirsty?' Kili asked. You looked at the mug for a moment and then back at him. 'It is still hot Kili' you said. Kili nodded but didn't look like he was going to give up soon. You decided to not pay too much attention to it and continued to read.

Kili was a bit impatient, constantly moving next to you. 'Some people say it's best to drink tea when it is still hot' he said. You nodded, not looking up from your book. 'Then some people have never burned their tongue while drinking extremely hot tea.' 'Don't you think it would be nice to drink some tea while you are still reading?' 'I'm fine, thank you Kili.' Silence. 'You know what would taste good with that particular paragraph?' 'Let me guess, a mug of tea?' 'Aye, it is like you read my mind.' You smiled. 'Will you let me read in silence if I take a sip?' 'I will let you read in silence if you finish the whole mug.' You looked up at him and saw that his cheeks were colored with a light shade of pink. 'What did you put in that tea?' you asked, suspicious of his behaviour. 'I put nothing in the tea' he said innocently. 'I still don't trust that cheeky smile of yours' you said. You brought the mug to your lips and immediately regretted it, it was still way too hot. 'You should probably blow first to get it cooler' Kili said.

'Thank you for telling me how to drink my tea.' 'Any time sweet heart.' The tea probably tasted great, but you had burned your tongue with the first sip, so you didn't taste too much of it. When you drank the last bit of it you put the mug down again and opened your book. 'Are you happy now?' you asked in a sarcastic tone. 'Are you sure it's empty?' he asked. You let out a little huff. 'What is wrong with you today?' 'Nothing out of the ordinary, according to my uncle. I just want to make sure my love drinks enough.' 'Then look in the mug yourself to convince yourself I drank all of it.' 'Why don't you look yourself?' At this point you wanted to throw the book at him. You closed the book and threw it in his lap. 'Fine! Will you stop acting this way when I have showed you this .... empty... mug ... with a ... What's that at the bottom?' the question came out in a small whisper. Kili put the book down and knelt before you on one knee.

You were holding the mug in your left hand, so Kili took your right hand in his. You could feel the light tremble in his hand. 'Our courtship may not be finished, but I want you to know how much I care about you. I know I am not worthy of your love but I want to be selfish and ask you to give your heart to me.' 'Kili...' 'I will make sure to put you first, every single day until my last breath escapes my body. I will shower you in gifts, jewels and gems, whenever I can. I will sing you the most romantic songs you have ever heard, I will tell you each poem that reminds me of you. But please, be mine and mine alone. Will you make me the happiest dwarf in Middle Earth, by becoming mine?' His eyes were sparkling with hope, you could see he was nervous for your answer. 'Of course I will be yours, I have always been yours' you said, your voice breaking. His smile, when you gave him that answer, had never been so bright before.
