Imagine ... has been smitten with you - Thranduil

~ Based on this imagine from imaginexhobbit: Imagine finding out the person you have feelings for has been smitten with you since the start. This is the last story for this particular imagine, there will be new ones very soon! And we shall end this with Thranduil. It's not my best work, but I just don't seem to like Thranduil that much... In my defence, it's his own fault, he shouldn't have been mean to Thorin.~

When the dwarf had shot an arrow at him, he knew he would get back at him. And when he noticed a certain hobbit lass in the dwarf's company he knew what to do. But he never expected to have feelings towards her. He noticed the protective side of the dwarf when he was close to you, and it gave Thranduil an unpleasant feeling. You were nothing more then a halfling, you weren't worthy of his time. Yet you were constantly on his mind, remembering him of the way you smiled.

So he ordered you and the dwarf leader to listen to his deal. He was being gracious only because he wanted to see you again. And he needed the dwarf to return his greatest desire when he would enter the mountain. Never did Thranduil suspect the dwarf leader to take the deal, he hoped that it would open your eyes. Thranduil could read your thoughts and he knew that you were in love with the dwarf. So he planned to show you what the dwarf was really like. Only then would you open your eyes and fall in love with the elven King.

But his plan backfired and when he cupped your cheek he could feel the chill running down your spine. You weren't supposed to react like that. Thranduil had expected you to lean in to his touch and close your eyes, he wanted to lean and kiss your lips softly. He didn't know what to do, what could he do to make you see he was a better candidate for your love? He send you and the dwarf away, he had to think this through. Thranduil sat down on his throne and furrowed his eyebrows. What was it that hobbits did to let the other one know they wanted to court them?

Maybe he could write her a poem or a song. No, that would take to much time and besides, he felt like he didn't have that much time. He had to move quick if you were already having feelings for that bad smelling dwarf. Thranduil cringed his nose, thinking about the awful smell that seemed to linger on every dwarf. A small smile played on his lips when he finally found a way to show you his intentions. He would have a nice meal prepared, a meal for a King and his consort. Hobbits loved food so you must be overjoyed when you would see the feast, he thought.

Immediately he ordered the elves in the kitchen to prepare the best food they had in stock and ordered some other elves to prepare the dining table. He let them place candles everywhere, creating a warm, cuddling vibe in the room. Elves were rushing in with many pies, salads, roasted vegetables and the finest wine. When all was done he inspected the room and concluded that this was well suited for his intentions. Two elves had already left to take the hobbit out of her cell, and Thranduil sat himself down at the head of the table.

After a few minutes he could hear small feet, barely making any noise, making their towards the dining hall. You seemed scared when you walked in, not sure what to expect from this second talk with Thranduil. He waved his hand towards the chair across from him. 'Sit down, hobbit.' You didn't argue and sat down immediately. With all the food on the table you could feel your stomach twitching, but you promised yourself you wouldn't touch a thing. The Company hadn't got any food all night long and you wouldn't betray them by eating with the elven King.

'Aren't you hungry hobbit?' Thranduil asked, curious to see a hobbit who refuges to eat. Carefully you shook your head. Thranduil raised an eyebrow and his lips turned into a thin line. 'It's just... my friends haven't had anything to eat in a long while and... and I won't eat if they won't get any food' you quickly explained. Thranduil placed a finger on his lips and wasn't sure how to react to this. He could easily sent her back down to her cell, after all the trouble he went through she wouldn't even touch the food in front of her!

Your cheeks heated up and you weren't sure if the elven King was mad or not. 'Shall I return to my cell?' you asked, already getting up from your seat. 'You seem quite eager to avoid spending time in my presence, halfling' Thranduil said quietly. Immediately you froze and didn't dare to look at the elf, only mere feet away. 'What does he have that I don't?' Thranduil asked, anger evident in his voice. You couldn't bring yourself to look him straight in the eyes which only angered the elf. He had gone out of his way to feed one of his prisoners and this is how she thanked him!

'I can see that you don't return my feelings halfling. Pity' Thranduil said, a disappointed look on his face.'I suggest you go back to your cell and stay there until you're ready to admit your feelings for me. Until then, your Company won't be fed' Thranduil said and immediately you looked up at him in shock. Thranduil chuckled sarcastically. 'Now you can look at me? I'm afraid it's to late halfling.' And with that you were dragged back to your cell.
