Imagine ... has been smitten with you - Thorin

~ Based on this imagine from imaginexhobbit: Imagine finding out the person you have feelings for has been smitten with you since the start. And now, the one and only... Thorin Oakenshield! ~

You knocked on the green, round door impatiently. Bilbo was probably eating his seventh meal of the day but you couldn't wait any longer. There had been several rare sightings of dwarfs for the last couple of minutes and you couldn't shake the feeling that something odd was going to happen. You knocked again. Where could that hobbit be? 'No more dwarfs! I'm a good host but my patience has it's limits!' you heard someone shouting from inside the house. You raised an eyebrow, not sure if you were too late to warn him.

The door was pulled open and a very annoyed looking Bilbo opened the door. His frown immediately disappeared when he noticed you and an exasperated smile came in return. 'Oh (y/n), you don't know how glad I'm to see you're not another dwarf standing on my doorstep.' So you had been to late to inform him. 'So you've already seen them? What did they ask you? You must have shut the door immediately, didn't you? I can't remember the last time we saw such filthy creatures in our little Shire' you rambled. Bilbo sighed and buried his face in his hands.

You stopped talking and looked at Bilbo in confusion. 'I didn't know what to do... They just walked in and... They're trying to eat everything in my pantry!' he shouted the last part. Your mouth dropped and you could feel the rage burning inside of you. 'THEY DO WHAT?!' you yelled and stormed inside Bag End. Bilbo was running after you, saying something along the lines off; 'Please don't cause to much trouble! It's no big deal, really!' But you didn't listen to him. A pantry was everything to a hobbit, and no one had the right to come in there without permission.

When you saw the pantry you noticed two big dwarfs standing in there, throwing food on the ground which they claimed was 'to blue, or just stank in general'. 'Who do you think you are to come in here without permission?! You know what you are? You are... uhm... disgusting! Yes, that's what you are! No manners whatsoever! Were you raised in a hole beneath the ground?!' you yelled at them. The bald dwarf raised his eyebrow at you before turning around, continuing his talk with the white haired dwarf.

You stomped your foot on the ground and pouted. 'I'm serious! This is a serious crime here in the Shire!' you yelled, but they didn't pay you any more attention. Bilbo placed a comforting hand on your shoulder and shook his head. 'I've tried to reason with them as well, but to no avail' he added sadly. * Knock knock* Bilbo closed his eyes and went to open the door. You couldn't believe your eyes. In the next minutes the house was filled with even more dwarfs. Bilbo was running after them, telling them to put stuff back in their place while a grey, old wizard seemed to be having too much fun with watching.

You had stopped to try and reason with them, so you just helped them out to prepare supper. Bilbo placed his hands on his hips and shook his head at you. 'Really, (y/n)?' he asked astonished. You shrugged while you dragged a giant cheese towards the table. 'If I can't stop them I might as well help them.' At that Bilbo threw his hands in the air and helped them as well. Dinner was almost over when the dwarfs started their song and poor old Bilbo looked like he might get a heart attack. And you had to admit you may or may not have thrown with plates as well.

The singing had come to an end when two loud knocks filled the house and everyone turned silent. Everyone gathered in the hallway and your curiosity got the best of you. The door opened and you swore you would have fainted if the black haired dwarf would have looked straight at you. He insulted Bilbo but you didn't really listen, you just couldn't take your eyes of his muscular appearance. Your heart wouldn't slow down and you were sure everyone had heard it by now. Everyone sat back down at the table and you avoided the peering gaze of the black haired dwarf, who couldn't take his eyes off of you.

'Unbelievable! Does anyone in Middle Earth have manners or did they all magically disappear?!' you shouted as the elf guards locked the Company in their cells. You were locked in the cell next to Thorin's, so you didn't notice the smirk on his face when he heard you yelling at the elves. You crossed your arms and sat down on the cold, hard ground. First, that stubborn dwarf hadn't listened to you when you told him he was a fool for trying to fight the white orc himself. Then he had hugged you and Bilbo because you had fought the orc off. And now he had gotten you imprisoned by elves.

This quest couldn't get more horrible, you just knew it. Suddenly two elves returned and unlocked Thorin's cell, saying that their King wanted to talk to him. They literally had to drag him out before he agreed to walk along with them. One of them smiled and unlocked your cell as well. 'The King has requested your presence as well' he smirked. 'She has nothing to do with this. I'm the leader of my Company, your King will only need to talk to me' he spat at them. But the elves didn't listen and got you out of your cell as well.

You were walking next to Thorin when he whispered: 'Stay close to him.' You gave him a small nod and slowed down so you walked behind him. Thranduil sat on his throne when you got close, a small smile playing on his lips when he noticed you walking behind Thorin. The dwarf now fully placed himself in front of you, blocking Thranduil's view. Thranduil offered Thorin a deal but of course the dwarf wouldn't take it. And frankly, you didn't blame him. How could anyone turn their back on someone in need?

Thorin had turned around and walked back a few paces when the deal was offered, and forgot that you were still standing behind him before that. Thranduil smiled and before you knew it he had placed himself between you and Thorin, a slight smirk on his mouth. 'And what's your name?' he asked, his voice soft but with an unpleasant tone behind it. You felt a shiver running down your spine when he spoke, but you didn't have time to respond for yourself. 'That's none of your business!' an angry voice hissed behind Thranduil's back.

The elven King smiled knowingly and cupped your face with one hand. Thorin stormed towards Thranduil to slap his hand off you but he had already withdrawn his hand. He placed his hands behind his back and paced around. Thorin took one of your hands in his and pulled you close to him. 'If you ever touch her again...' he growled but Thranduil raised a hand and silenced him. 'Don't think you have the right to threaten me in my own Kingdom dwarf. Make no illusion, it will have consequences' he spoke softly.

Thorin clenched his teeth and looked at the elf in disgust. 'Why do you even care so much about the hobbit? She has no special meaning in your quest. She's just a hobbit' he said, every word chosen with care. You could feel Thorin's muscles tightening and you tried to sooth him by rubbing your thumb over his hand. He noticed and relaxed his grip on your hand, he looked back at you and his eyes changed immediately. There was a small spark in them that you had seen there before, but only when he had looked at you. Suddenly you were both shocked to hear a small chuckle escaping Thranduil's mouth.

'Oh, that's why. She may not play a significant part in your quest, but she does in your heart. She means everything to you' he whispered the last words. Thorin turned his face away from you but you could tell that Thranduil was right. Never had you dared to believe that the future King under the Mountain may return your feelings. Yet it had always been evident in his eyes, right there in front of you. 'What's it to you?' Thorin asked, his voice just slightly wavering. 'Nothing, yet. You may return to your cells. Think about my proposition.'

The guards lead you back to your cells, keeping you and Thorin separated. When you reached your cell you felt a hand closing around your wrist. You looked back to find a pair of beautiful blue eyes examining your face. 'I love you' he said before the guards pulled him further and pushed him in his cell. One guard pushed you in yours and closed the bars, leaving you on the floor of your cell. You got up and watched as the guards walked away once more. 'I love you too' you said, hoping that he would hear you.
