Imagine ... has been smitten with you - Bilbo
~ Based on this imagine from imaginexhobbit: Imagine finding out the person you have feelings for has been smitten with you since the start. And this time it's Bilbo's time to shine! ~
'Have you ever been here before (y/n)?' Fili asked curious as you walked through the Shire. Kili walked in front of you and tried to ask some hobbits if they knew where a Bilbo Boggins lived. But all runned away when he approached them. Maybe it had something to do with the excited look on his face and the fact that he ran towards them instead of walking. He seemed disappointed when he found no one that could help them and you patted his shoulder comforting. 'No, I've never been here. But I must admit, it looks rather peaceful' you said.
Both brothers nodded. 'I agree but I am starting to become quite hungry, do you think the hobbit has a lot of food?' Kili asked, stretching his neck trying to see if there was a mark in the distance. 'That's not what we're here for' Fili said, amusement in his voice. 'I know that. But that doesn't mean I don't need food anymore' Kili argued. You smirked and shook your head. 'Didn't Thorin tell you about the location of the house?' you asked. Fili nodded, his eyes moving from door to door. 'Aye, he told us we needed to take the left path when we entered the Shire' Kili answered.
You raised an eyebrow and looked back at the road behind you. 'Then why did we take the right path?' you asked confused. The two brothers exchanged knowing looks. 'Because it is our uncle after all...' '...and he gets himself lost a lot of the time' Fili finished. You laughed and suddenly you noticed a green, round door with what seemed like a mark on it. 'Is that it?' you asked and pointed at the door. Kili smiled brightly before running towards the door with Fili and yourself following close behind. He knocked and you heard noises coming from inside.
A honey blonde, curled haired hobbit opened the door and you swear your mouth dropped on the floor. 'Fili...' 'and Kili. At your service!' The brothers said and bowed their heads. You forgot to introduce yourself until Fili pulled your sleeve and you hastily added: 'And me... that's uhm... (y/n)... if I recall...' and you bowed your head feeling quite embarrassed. Everything after that happened quite fast and afterwards you weren't able to tell what had happened that night. Your full concentration was focused on the hobbit and his beautiful hair. Maybe he lacked a beard but as a dwarf you could really appreciate the hair on his feet.
He was the most beautiful creature you had ever seen in your life. For some reason you felt drawn to this little creature and you felt the need to protect him from any harm. So when Bofur made him faint you promised yourself he would have to pay for this. Carefully you lifted the hobbit and sat him down in one of his arm chairs. Gandalf thanked you for your help and told you that you could leave. For some strange reason you felt the need to stay beside the hobbit and make sure he would be alright but you listened to the wizard and went looking for Bofur.

Every time the hobbit would get himself into danger you felt your heart racing and you wanted to yell at him for making your worried. But right now he wasn't the focus of your anger. Long ago you had promised that you would follow Thorin no matter what. However, no matter what proved to be a difficult task right now. During the quest your love for the hobbit had grown steadily and you were sure that you had finally found your One. You hadn't talked about it with anyone but you were sure that Fili and Kili already knew when you had met the hobbit that night at Bag End.
Right now you were watching Thorin strangling the hobbit to death, threatening to throw him down his mountain. Anger spread through your veins and you could feel your heart beating faster. He was holding your hobbit, and you were the only one allowed to do so. Stealing the Arkenstone hadn't been Bilbo's best move throughout this journey, but you understood his reasons behind it all. You had also noticed the change in your King's actions. They didn't seem rational anymore and Bilbo had been the only one to act on his suspicions.
You took a step forward to free Bilbo from Thorin's grip when you felt a hand on your wrist. You looked back and met Fili's warning eyes. He didn't have to tell you it was a stupid thing to intervene between the King and the hobbit, but it was something you had to do. That night at Bag End you had promised yourself that you would keep the hobbit safe, no matter what. You pulled your wrist from his grip and walked towards the King. 'Don't come closer' Thorin growled when he felt you approaching from behind. 'This traitor needs to be punished for his actions!'
'Thorin! Don't harm the hobbit! Let him come down safely and you won't regret it afterwards!' you heard Gandalf shouting. But Thorin didn't listen to reason any longer. And when Bilbo looked at you with pleading eyes you knew what you had to do. You drew your sword and approached your King, the tip pointing at his heart. His eyes looked at you in disbelief and rage and you slowed down, not sure if you wanted to go down this path. 'It doesn't have to end like this, my King. The Hobbit has stolen from you but only because your mind is clouded. We can....' but you were unable to finish.
Thorin looked at the hobbit in disgust and threw him towards you. You lowered your sword just in time or Bilbo would have been hurt by your own doing. He scrambled to his feet and hid behind you, but you weren't sure if you could protect him against Thorin's wrath. 'So this is how it's going to end? With my own kin turning against me?' he spat at you. The Company didn't look at you nor at their King. 'You are a disgrace to our race!' Thorin bellowed and you could only see anger in his eyes. Like they were spitting fire at you.
'You don't deserve to call yourself a dwarf of the Longbeards! You don't belong to any noble dwarf race anymore! You are banished from my Kingdom and you will be killed when you set foot in here again!' You could feel your heart breaking. Everything you had worked for the last months, everything you had left behind to help reclaim your homeland... had been in vain. You nodded in understanding and you walked down the mountain, together with Bilbo and the wizard. You didn't have the heart to face the others, you were sure they would think of you as a disgrace as well.
Once you had entered the camp of Men and Elves you hid in one of their tents. You couldn't believe where your own disregarded feelings had lead you. You were banished from the line of Longbeards, you had no place to call your home any more. A tear escaped the corner of your eye when you heard someone entering the tent. Quickly you wiped it away but Bilbo had already seen it. 'Thank you for saving me up there' he spoke softly. You nodded in response, not trusting your own voice to sound steady. You didn't want the hobbit to know how you truly felt, you would only seem weak to him.
Bilbo knelt down in front of you, his neck showing the marks where Thorin had hold him in his tight grip. That would leave a mark for sure, you thought. 'I didn't mean for you to get banished...' Bilbo started but you shushed him. 'It is not your fault master Hobbit. It was my own decision and I have to life with the consequences' you said, your voice shaking. 'I just don't understand why' Bilbo said, curiosity filled his small voice. You looked at him in confusion before you dropped your head, and a small smile formed on your lips. 'Because I was stupid enough to feel emotions for someone who will never return them' you almost whispered.
Bilbo's eyes widened and you were sure you had shocked the hobbit big time. That's why you weren't prepared for what he did next. Bilbo cupped your face so you were forced to look at him. Slowly he came closer, closing the distance between your lips, your eyes never leaving yours. Your lips finally met and you closed your eyes to welcome his warm, wet tongue inside your mouth. This is what you had always dreamed off, the hobbit straddled on your lap, kissing passionately. You moved your hands through his hair, earning a small moan from the smaller man.
Bilbo wrapped his arms around you and you pulled him closer to you. Too soon did he break the kiss to catch some air, staying seated on your lap. 'You're a stupid dwarf for thinking I didn't return your feelings' he pointed out with a smile. You smirked and placed a quick kiss on his lips. 'And you're a stupid hobbit for letting yourself getting strangled so that I have no other option but to confess my feelings for you in front of the Company' you pointed out in return. Bilbo shrugged and crossed his arms. 'You're not going to complain, or are you?' he asked. You smiled and cupped his face. 'I will never complain, âzyungal.'
